I’ve been wanting a charcoal grill with a cover for a while. I used to have one of the smaller basic Weber kettle grills that I gave away thinking I’d upgrade and get a better charcoal grill. Few years and couple of charcoal grills later, I regret giving away that Weber. Ive been on the hunt for that ultimate charcoal grill when I came across this video which made me realize again that the Webers have been around for 70 years for a damn good reason. Thank you for this!
I love my Weber Premium! I smoked a whole chicken on it today, yum! I’m going to do a brisket for Easter! I would recommend those charcoal holders for anyone buying it, they are inexpensive and do a great job! I think most of the great pit masters, in their heart of hearts probably love their Weber 22” the best! Klaus
My favorite weber is the one I find on the curb for free... drill out and replace the one-touch cleaning system. $25 grill. You can usually find one or two per year if you're looking. The things look and work like brand new.
Wow, that is an impressive collection. I love the original 22". Thing Idon't like about the new Weber Kettles is they move the hook from the old location, old location worked better. Nicely done video!
The ash catcher alone is worth the $50 upgrade... you can bbq three or four times before dumping out the bin... vs everytime on the original model and not make a huge mess on the ground. Thermometer on lid is a very nice bonus.
Yeah man I had the premium one and sold it for like 40 bucks cuz I wasn't using it anymore then now I got the urge to bbq had to buy the original 😩 with out some of the perks I wish I had now
@@JosePerez-ok8ez Ouch! Sorry to hear that man. If you got free time, you might want to check out Craigslist, you might find a model with the ash catcher... ppl are always upgrading or moving, and just looking to get rid of it cheap.
I got a 22" Premium black kettle with a cover as an anniversary gift from work. It's the best thing they've ever done for me, that's for sure. 5 years ago I got a small wine refrigerator which as also cool though. Before that it was nothing but junk, but man this grill is something else I'm tellin' ya!
I had a huge char griller smoker that I was using as a regular grill for burgers, and it was awful to maintain. I decided to get the Weber premium $175 for the burgers and veggies and it's so easy to maintain.
I have the 18.5 and 22 inch Webers. Get the 22inch if you want to smoke meats (brisket, slab of ribs X5, 1/3 of beef clod, etc.). The taller height of the 22 makes it easier to cook food such as beer can chicken, slab of ribs on its side to smoke. I've smoked meats using the snake method on both 18.5 and 22; 22 gives you more width and height.
Don't be afraid to go with the basic 22" as prices have skyrocketed lately (2024). I clean my grill out before every use to get gunk out of the bottom, so the one-touch is not really needed. I also dial in the vent on top for temps because I do a lot of low and slow using the snake method so leaving the bottom wide open to avoid getting blocked with ash or drippings is wise. I have had mine for many years and paid $74 for it new. I use it for everything but brisket and pork shoulder and for those we use the offset.
Great explanation! I graduated to pellet from propane last summer. Now summer 2021.....if we are all still around I'm looking to learn charcoal. Thank you sir!
Don't know when you posted this but just today I was at Home Depot. They have the Weber BBQs on a shelf so I wasn't able to compare. I had to leave my beloved 22" inch behind when I moved and now I want a replacement. Thanks for the video.
The wife when she cooks goes for the weber gas. Going to buy the master kettle when i grill. Best of both worlds, and we are both happy. Great review, sir.
I have a weber 22.5 grill and I added a Weber rotisserie insert. Goes between the pot and the lid. Works great for rotisserie chicken, pork and beef roasts.
How did I miss your channel? A fellow Weber aficionado. I have the Weber platinum performer bro with the propane starter it’s awesome. You need it. Nice video very nice.
Awesome video man. I knew nothing about Weber grills until i bought one at a garage sale for 10 bucks a few years ago. (18 inch older model) Since then i learned how to smoke a brisket using the snake method. Unfortunately the grill is pretty beaten up so i'll be getting a new one soon. This video really helped me a lot
thank you so much for this video. i'm in the market for a new kettle and you provided us with a concise breakdown of the differences between the master touch and premium. now if only i could find the master touch in red 😝
THANKS FOR WATCHING MATT! So, the anniversary edition that came out last year is red. But, it's not the master touch gourmet, but it has the one touch system. You can customize it to be just like the Gourmet though.
I'ver had the Premium 22" for about 10 years. The ash-catcher housing that is attached to the bottom the kettle rusted away at the attachment point -- where the lip slides into the leg connection. Time for a new one, me thinks, but my wife says deal with it.

I clicked on your link to the Master touch, and Weber is not offering any of the extras such as the coal baskets and warming rack in the purchase of the grill. . It's just the grill.
THANX but what about the 4th and largest one you have there?? Here in Greece, it's 2ice the price!! Any advice as to where in the US I can order from??
Can anyone tell me why the price might be justified compared to the cheaper 150 dollar nexgrills at with offset smokers at home depot? Im trying to decide which one to buy and if its worth it to get the weber instead. And also what is the purpose of the charcoal pans vs just putting the charcoal in without them?
I love my 15 year-old 18" but it's just a bit too small for my needs and I want to upgrade... but I just can't bring myself to do it because I love that little guy (gift from my Dad) and I'm not a 2-grill-owning man. Yet.
Do they sell the small kettle size with the ash catcher, thermo and different colors??? I hate needing to use a heap of charcoal when only cooking for two people..

I got my 22 deluxe for Father’s Day about 12 years ago. I have used it a couple times a week since I got it and it’s still rock solid. Too bad everything you buy isn’t built like a Webber
Bro. I've got those same shoes. Try them without socks. They feel nice. Once I was grilling on a Lodge Sportsman while wearing Crocs and an ember flew out and somehow went down in the left Croc and burnt a hole in my foot. I had a scar for like two years. My wife was grossed out. True story.
You're going the opposite direction from me. I want them to feel as barefoot as possible. I use them for trail running where there's lots of sharp rocks the size and shape of Brazil nuts. Ouch! I prefer the Xero Prio shoes but they let the pain in from the rocks too much. Their sole is too thin. Of course if you're on your feet grilling and making videos, you need lots of comfort. Grill on! You should try to get Merrill to sponsor your channel somehow.

Your lamb tailgate video featured a gorgeous wooden grill table with a weber grill on each end. Is this table sold by online anywhere?
I made it for the show. I'll post some videos about it asap!!! And thanks for watching, Ring da bell and subscribe!!!

True story.
Haa! Thant's nuts dude!! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
I use SOFSOLE insoles in those kicks as well, SUUUUPERRR cushie now!
I think the premium is the Best Buy. Has everything you need and price point is about right.
Swing by The Home Depot and pick up a pair of the side coal grate fences (before the baskets came out) for indirect heat BBQ and your all set.
