    I’ve been wanting a charcoal grill with a cover for a while. I used to have one of the smaller basic Weber kettle grills that I gave away thinking I’d upgrade and get a better charcoal grill. Few years and couple of charcoal grills later, I regret giving away that Weber. Ive been on the hunt for that ultimate charcoal grill when I came across this video which made me realize again that the Webers have been around for 70 years for a damn good reason. Thank you for this!

    I love my Weber Premium! I smoked a whole chicken on it today, yum! I’m going to do a brisket for Easter! I would recommend those charcoal holders for anyone buying it, they are inexpensive and do a great job! I think most of the great pit masters, in their heart of hearts probably love their Weber 22” the best!

    My favorite weber is the one I find on the curb for free... drill out and replace the one-touch cleaning system. $25 grill. You can usually find one or two per year if you're looking. The things look and work like brand new.

    Wow, that is an impressive collection. I love the original 22". Thing Idon't like about the new Weber Kettles is they move the hook from the old location, old location worked better. Nicely done video!

    The ash catcher alone is worth the $50 upgrade... you can bbq three or four times before dumping out the bin... vs everytime on the original model and not make a huge mess on the ground. Thermometer on lid is a very nice bonus.

      @@JosePerez-ok8ez Ouch! Sorry to hear that man. If you got free time, you might want to check out Craigslist, you might find a model with the ash catcher... ppl are always upgrading or moving, and just looking to get rid of it cheap.

    I got a 22" Premium black kettle with a cover as an anniversary gift from work. It's the best thing they've ever done for me, that's for sure. 5 years ago I got a small wine refrigerator which as also cool though. I have the 18.5 and 22 inch Webers. Get the 22inch if you want to smoke meats (brisket, slab of ribs X5, 1/3 of beef clod, etc.). The taller height of the 22 makes it easier to cook food such as beer can chicken, slab of ribs on its side to smoke. I've smoked meats using the snake method on both 18.5 and 22; 22 gives you more width and height.

    • @BBQiT
      @BBQiT  5 років тому

      I love them all, but the 26r is king for me when doing brisket or ribs...or anything!

    Don't be afraid to go with the basic 22" as prices have skyrocketed lately (2024). I clean my grill out before every use to get gunk out of the bottom, so the one-touch is not really needed. I also dial in the vent on top for temps because I do a lot of low and slow using the snake method so leaving the bottom wide open to avoid getting blocked with ash or drippings is wise. I have had mine for many years and paid $74 for it new. I use it for everything but brisket and pork shoulder and for those we use the offset.

      Oh Yes! They are awesome value, REALLY hard to beat, and almost indestructible!? 22" is a great cooking size too.
      Mine sat outside in the weather for 5 years (live in the Mid South). I actually installed a thermometer on the lid before Weber ever did! ;-)
      I passed it on to my son, who had it for 3 years (lives on the Gulf Coast) and he passed it on to a friend, who still uses it frequently and it hasn't weathered a bit after 11 years!
      Love, love, love my Webers!

    I love my 15 year-old 18" but it's just a bit too small for my needs and I want to upgrade... but I just can't bring myself to do it because I love that little guy (gift from my Dad) and I'm not a 2-grill-owning man. Yet.

    I have a 22" premium and only has 1 handle on the grill itself and I seen same grill with 2 handles on the grill can you explain why...

    • @BBQiT
      @BBQiT  5 років тому

      GREAT QUESTION CURT!!! YES. The true premium has 1 handle and 1 lid bail to hold the lid, the ones w 2 handles are not the top of the line, but the middle 22 they offer. It's 2-3inches shorter, and it has a lid catch underneath the lid. Thanks for watching and subscribing!!!

    I just got a free 18in original that needs a bit of work (needs cleaning and new grates).
    I feel like the 18in is a bit on the smaller side. I'm not a professional or doing a bunch of cooking; do people find the 18in being too small?

    • @BBQiT
      @BBQiT  3 роки тому

      The 18 is fantastic! It's good for many things, it all just depends on the amount of people that are eating. HIt me back w any questions you have! Thank you as well for watching!! If ya can, hit subscribe and click the bell, and like when ya like. It helps me get my videos in rotation!

    My Dad has a 22" kettle that is about 30 years old that has THREE Daisy wheels on bottom for ventilation. I'm not sure if it has the external lever for ash cleaning.
    I've never seen another like it and I've never seen anyone online talking about that set-up. How about you?
    BTW: My only kettle is a red, gen 1 performer that I picked up in 1998 or 1999 for $25. It was years later before I realized what a bargain I got.

    Bro. I've got those same shoes. Try them without socks. They feel nice. Once I was grilling on a Lodge Sportsman while wearing Crocs and an ember flew out and somehow went down in the left Croc and burnt a hole in my foot. I had a scar for like two years. My wife was grossed out. True story.

      You're going the opposite direction from me. I want them to feel as barefoot as possible. I use them for trail running where there's lots of sharp rocks the size and shape of Brazil nuts. Ouch! I prefer the Xero Prio shoes but they let the pain in from the rocks too much. Their sole is too thin. Of course if you're on your feet grilling and making videos, you need lots of comfort. Grill on! You should try to get Merrill to sponsor your channel somehow.

      Swing by The Home Depot and pick up a pair of the side coal grate fences (before the baskets came out) for indirect heat BBQ and your all set.
