I feel like Murder Drones is GLITCH's first true success in indie animation.Sure Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise were popular, but they really only appealed to SMG4 fans. All 6 episodes of Murder Drones being the 6 most viewed videos on the channel.I haven't really been catched up on the lore, but it's still really good.
As a horror hater most of the time, the horror elements being why I come back to this show constantly to rewatch it shows how perfectly they nailed the vibes of the show, how they balanced everything to just work. In ep 2, when N shoots a rocket and it lights up the whole eldritch monster in the background, was just so COOL, rather than something that scared me. As ep 4 pointed out with N and Uzi, being together made the scary stuff fun, tolerable. That is what the show is for me, and I don't know if any show will ever capture this sort of feeling again for me.
Honestly, i hate horror as well but most of the time im so invested into whats going on and so drawn in that i often dont even notice the horror elements xd
I get the whole point of the show having fast pacing but the beauty of it is I find myself learning new things and everytime I rewatch the show keeps it interesting.
Me too, in fact when chapter 4 came out I didn't understand almost anything of what was established until now, since from chapter 1 to 3 you could even get an idea of how much time had passed from chapter to chapter, but hey, I guess it's intentional, Since when chapter 6 came out you know why in those places where Uzi investigated there were claw marks or warnings NOT to look at the light and all that.
Murder Drones quickly became my favorite indie animation series on youtube, i just love the vibe this show has. The character dynamics and lore are also great imo, i cant wait to see where it all goes next.
I'm certain "tension killers" are deliberate choice, for the sake of keeping level of horror under control for wider audience. Because there are jokes right after EVERY single scary moment.
Except Ep6 stops the tension killers. And it's SO GOOD without them. I get that the show wants to be comedic, but it doesn't need those killers as frequently as Ep1-5 had it.
Glad to see you back ! I agree with opinion on the most concerning parts of the show. Even with its flaws, you can clearly see all the passion put in the project ! They're so much to love in it ! The characters, story, comedy, horror, the animation, the soundtrack... I love this show and hope it gets better and better (which seems to be the case).
that fandom discourse on twitter is the exact reason why I try not to interact with fandoms too much, no matter if it's my favorite series on the internet or on tv, stuff like this always happens and it's for the stupidest reasons, especially with murder drones I love this series but I don't dare exist on twitter in any capacity It's so odd though, this is the kind of show that I normally wouldn't be very interested in and yet it's one of my favorites overall lol
The lore isn't confusing, if you're saying the series is hard to understand then well that means the series has great writing. The amount of effort and details Liam puts passionately into his work.
I really wouldn't say that needing to rewatch an episode is a bad thing, especially in this show. While it's advertised as a horror-comedy it is obviously a mystery story as well, so of course it's gonna be full of hints that you only find after looking for them by pausing and going frame by frame or during a rewatch. If this wasn't the case it would be a bad mystery (or at least not as good as it currently is). Murder Drones caters towards theorists and it really delivers in that regard.
Yeah, for me naturally, having to rewatch something isn't all that fun, (As i said in the video), but with murder drones, it was actually quite helpful since i picked up on a lot of things. The mystery side of things is probably the most intriguing thing about this show as a whole
I've been watching smg4 since their spaghetteria videos and have grown up watching smg4. it's Incredible to see them finally getting the attention they deserve.
I have a headcanon on why the older drones like the guy who let N in don't seem to fussed about all the murder while some of the younger drones like Doll and Uzi seem to have more complex feelings and for lack of a better explanation 'give more of a sh!t' about all the murder if anyone is interested in hearing it?
My head cannon comes from one of Tessa's lines, Well it was from much earlier but Tessa seemed to cement my theory. Tessa basically said "Absolute Solver infects and mutates in damaged AI's." What if this damage was a limiter release? All the worker drones of Copper 9 are mimicking humans, and many of them are mimicking human society tropes. This implies that the worker drones are mimicking human emotions. What if the "Damaged AI's" were both damaged and not. It is my theory that the "Damaged AI's" had their emotional spectrum limiters destroyed. This would imply that said drones could develop real emotions. This program damage is also where Absolute Solver infects the drones. Tl-Dr The emotional Drones have Damaged AI's, absolute Solver grows in the OS because of said damage. This also segue into another (potentially more terrifying) theory. The younger series of drones tend to show more, and more complex emotions. We know that the Copper 9 drones are a bit different. In the flashback episode, all the normal drones had white eyes, except for Cyn who had yellow eyes. It is my head cannon that the White eyes are the eyes of a drone that is operating normally, but the colored eyes are the eyes of a drone with OS mutations (this includes Absolute Solver). Tl-Dr Copper 9 intentionally Mass produced Absolute Solver.
@@johnsmithfakename8422 My own headcanon is very similar to yours in regards to the Absolute Solver being a catalyst for emotional complexity in the drones but with a few extra elements.. For example I believe the older drones (the ones built by humans) likely came out fully formed with personalities while the younger drones (which we see do start out as babies) are given time to grow and develop their own persona over time leading to more complex and varied personalities and emotions. However not all of the young drones show the same emotional and personality complexity's as others and are just a non fussed about all the murder after it happens as seen in Cabin Fever with Lizzie not caring about Uzi murdering at all, similar to how Khan doesn't care when Doll shows up to Uzi's home even after he witnessed what happened at prom. It is for this reason that I believe the Absolute Solver further pushes the emotion and personality development in drones like Uzi, Doll, N and V. Anyone else have any ideas?
I get your point and agree with the statements but I think you used one of the worst examples of a ship drawing by using Cougar’s thumbnails as they can be REALLY problematic 💀 Other than that great video🎉
I get your point. Other examples i had were either NSFW or had a mix of characters. Had to work with what i had at the end of the day🤷🏾♂️ Thx for watching tho.
I do have VERY slight worries about season 2 comming, because... well if you know Liam he doesn't really do that. However it's not just him and this is way more successful, so I'm sure it'll happen.
I’m pretty sure the main reason why Liam doesn’t finish the projects he works on is simply because it takes too much time and effort for one person to make an entire series by themself. Now that he’s working with a whole team of animators I highly doubt that they’ll struggle to finish the show, especially with how much support it’s getting
Seeing that I'm here, allow me to make a long and dumb comment on my opinion of this show. So, I've been a Smg4 fan for about 10 years now. One of the first english videos I ever watched (back when I was but a silly italian boy) was from Smg4. I love the guy and I've felt this way through all the changes the channel has undergone. Now Liam on the other hand I only found in the end of 2020 through Cliffside, but even though I started watching him only recently I've already fallen in love with his style. I even like his really old stuff he himself doesn't enjoy much lol. So, it wasn't crazy to guess that Murder Drones would end up being very fun for me, but I didn't imagine just how much I would love it. I adore this show, and the funny thing is I don't really have a reason why. I'm not some youtube critic with a well made list of good and bad things about the show, no I love it just because yes. It just works for me. I even bought two plushies and a mini figure of the show, and that's the only youtuber merch I've bought in my entire life! This show means a lot to me (to the point of making me write slightly cringe comments like this one lol) and I'm happy to have watched it. Oh also, very nice video. And before anyone says it, yeah, Rainworld = good and based.
7:55 this event was one I couldn’t go to, but my siblings went to in my place. My brother asked the question I’d written out to Liam and it was the best response I’d gotten though a video. I hope they do another live event, I’d love to go this time >:3 you can see my brother standing in the back❤ red shirt and holding a drawing. Also posted stuff from my event on my channel
So, on the topic of tone, I want to call a few things out. This tone deafness is a joke, yes... But I also think it might have some implications in the lore. So far, we've only seen five drones who actually give a damn about the deaths others, Uzi, Doll, and the three Murder Drones. Well, maybe not J yet... However, I think this might be due to the common denominator between all of these characters; the AI that rewrites code that is lurking in each of their heads: the Absolute Solver. Perhaps it's Main Character syndrome, or maybe it's more, but I think there might be an actual reason for this casual dismissal. And yes, I understand this is just another theory, but it's a theory based off evidence we can tangibly see. To all the other drones, death is just... laughably casual. They're concerned about self-preservation, but they hardly care about others. Not only that, but Uzi - and to an extent, Doll - have shown to also be more compassionate and intelligent than the average Worker Drone. After all, she made a *rail gun* while still a teenager, was the only one to not be fooled my EldritchJ's trap, and even hacked into N and V's heads to save their memories.
This Is a theory i've seen before and One i believed for a bit, but the problem with It Is that There Is ONE more Drone with emotions and compassion: Thad! When the Worker Defense Force stood back in fear, he took a stand, alone, against TWO Murder Drones, urging Others to do the same, he was genuinely kind to Uzi, even before She befriended a living WMD, and overall Is Just a chill dude. So unless he actually has AS Powers himself, the lives of Unnamed worker drones really are supposed to be Just punchlines, wich IS in line with Liam's other works And Humor (Reminder that Id-0l from IC turned two dudes and an helicopter into a bike)
@emanuelereali4684 True, which weakens the theory on compassion. However, death overall is still pretty trivial to him unless it's his own life. But yeah, Thad is a pretty big weak spot in that theory.
@@Raytobe Admittedly, there are a ton of other theories about this series that are even bigger. For instance, many people are finding comparisons between Murder Drones and The Book of Enoch. A theory I hold in *much* higher regard though is that of the vampire connection. Some of it is obvious; the sun harms Murder Drones, they need to consume blood to live, and N is even seen sleeping upside down like a bat at one point. However, there are even more subtle hints about all this. For instance, while the Murder Drones themselves don't display this trait, Vampires have an aversion to mirrors; they cannot see their own reflections and this reminds them of their lost lives, leading them to retreat in anguish. And, a lesser known fact is one of the greatest weaknesses of the vampire: the door. A lesser known weakness of vampires is that a vampire cannot enter a home without being invited inside. They literally cannot get past a door without it being opened for them. Furthermore, aside from their regenerative abilities, Vampires are also known to "reform" at their coffins should their body ever be truly destroyed... Much like how J just *showed up* again after all that time. This leads me to theorize that their "coffins" are whatever pods are used to clone the Drones. The last bit of evidence is in the method N was "killed" in the flashback. While a stake to the heart or sunlight are the two most common methods to destroy a vampire, another, lesser known method is a several step process, involving the decapitation of the vampire, then anointing it's forehead with holy water. There are several more steps, but they vary widely, depending on the locale you're hearing the myths in. And in the flashbacks, we saw that N was decapitated, and had an *ice pick* used to lobotomize him through his forehead. These similarities can lead us down a path for the future, and help us understand where things are probably going.
I'll admit the tension killers and the murders without consequence is I think a part of the comedy that I realise that some people might not like but I still think that's what they're going for I love the show more for the fact they ignore all the deaths and the tension killers I find it hilarious and at least for me it doesn't actually break the tension its just a second where it stops I dunno I think while overall everyone likes this show I think it needs a certain sense of humour to truly love it all
What I will say about the tone deaf murder bit, I think the latest episode, episode 6, actually improved on it! I don’t recall one bit where the actual murders didn’t come off as unimportant or mood killers. Maybe it’s because of how the ep was set, with all of it being more surreal and Uzi’s, N’s, and V’s issues are the main focus and they toned it all down for that, but even then, I think this was a step in the right direction! Personally, I don’t usually mind mood killer jokes, the bit in Cabin Fever where they keep talking about Uzi and don’t acknowledge her in their memory banks, I will admit, a bit overdone, but that’s the bit about murder drones, they’re ROBOTS. It kinda makes sense to me! Now, of course, this is just a preference, but if Helluva Boss does a mood killer joke, I’m sorta just bummed out because it, most of all, is overused and doesn’t come off as real to me. But for Murder Drones, it just seems to make sense.(no hate on HB btw It’s just a preference) The characters in murder drones, are robots. AI’s. Creatures that think and process differently. The way their dialogue sounds to me fits, because it sounds like something I’d hear an AI on chat gpt say if I ask for it to act like an edgy teen and verbally reference their parental issues! Not to mention, the characters are meant, at least to me, to be slightly fourthwall breakers. I relate to this on a huge scale since I’ll make a fourth wall joke about my life, knowing it’s a fourth wall joke, and hope that I might be on the Truman show and the audience knows what’s happening in my mind then (let’s not dig into that lol) Again, these are just my preferences and interpretations! Disagree if you’d like, if you’d like to discuss why, go on ahead, just be nice about it! Also tbh ship wars are so dumb iwttg whenever their are two characters with good/great chemistry or a character that had an interesting interaction with another character, there will ALWAYS BE A DUMB SHIPPING WAR-
I think EP6 is really where the show shines because it stops undercutting the dark moments with comedy and lets deaths matter. Because the tone is only tone deaf for the main characters. For everyone not in the main cast, death doesn't seem to matter much at all. Drones get killed off and their friends and family are no worse for wear. They even ask their family murderers out. That's definitely a stylistic choice and is has been pulled off in other media, but they drop that casualness the moment the characters get more than 5 minutes of screentime. V's sacrifice (doubt it's real but hey) holds weight. Uzi's dad leaving her for dead holds weight. Her mom's death holds weight. Doll's whole character motivation is about revenge which none of the side characters care about whatsoever. It's not tone deaf, it's tonal dissonance. But it's still a good show and I honestly hope Ep7-8 are just like Ep6, not like 1-2. The early episodes are by far the worst, and the newest episode is by far the best. And it's visually gorgeous, holy cow Ep6 looks so good. Must have taken ages to render.
I really love this show and I know it can have flaws but you can't be perfect. I do hope Glitch keeps it up the good work especially when The amazing digital circus.
I completely agree! The show is fascinating on many levels, it’s action scenes never cease to impress, and the characters are so fun to watch. I also agree it comedic timing and quick pacing are it’s biggest pitfalls. Episode 5 is a good example of the former and episode 6 for the latter. But none of these fully ruin the enjoyment of the series, and honestly could be worse.
Editing is on point. Delivery was good. You made good points overall. Sharing your opinion in a somewhat objective way is really hard. Consider me a fan of your work. :D
For me, it seems like the series keeps getting wilder, because there was soo much happening in episode 6 that i had to rewatch before even figuring out Alice's name Also, fun fact: if you didn't know already, each episode is based on different horror movies!
I really should rewatch murder drone again i love the show it was kind of the thing that started my taste of interesting or was a regular show we will never know actually i don't know but yeah
If I were to give MD any criticism, it'd be about its greatest strength and weakness: that the show is very vibes based. It gives each episode an extremely strong atmosphere and emotion, but often times they don't connect in the best way. Extremely strong characters to root for, so it's easy to suspend your disbelief over the inconsistencies. And yeah, it is a bit hard to figure out whether a robot dying is important or a joke when both occur at the same time. My best guess is that regular drones just have a severe lack of theory of mind and only care about themselves. For the most part they're somewhat poorly imitating how a sapient biological creature should act, but they have some big holes. The only Drones who seem to care beyond their own shells are those with some variant of Absolute Solver within them. So Doll, Uzi, the Disassemblers.
ahh yeah I see your point. I always just found it kind of bizarre how the other workers just seemed very nonchalant about their fellow workers being killed. but hey, you make some good point there.
Personally, I'm not a fan of horror/gore - it can get a bit boring at times - but it was made by SMG4 and Liam, how could I not watch it Once that theme song started playing in the pilot, I had to keep watching The action, music, environment, and characters just blew me away
I honestly really really like Murder Drones yes it's a bit confusing to understand fully but that probably will take 2 or 3 re-watches to understand. Although it's confusing to understand at points Liam Vickens is a creative mind. It ain't my favorite Glitch Productions series but it might eventually
With your concerns, I feel that you're taking the show (or Liam) a bit too seriously, but that may just be me. The tension killers are on purpose, it's in line with Liam's humor as far as I'm aware. Also, from a lore standpoint, it could be said that since all of the drones are basically pretending to be human, so the lack of depth as far as deaths and trauma is an actual thing and not a writing/comedy thing. Otherwise, yeah, you pretty much nailed it :)
Thanks for watching, man. apretiate the comment. I agree with your point about the tension killers. It may dumb down intense scenes, but i understand that they are intentional.
Honestly, I am not a person that enjoys re-watching shows. BUT MAAN! I have re-watched murder drones 3 times now(and counting) after binging it one night before an exam at 3am. And I regret nothing!
I will say, the comedy is not that big of an issue, as it helps ease some moments that would make you feel too uncomfortable. And while the deaths of many are played off as a joke, I think that also has to do with the fact that we see it from our perspective. At the start of the show, deaths were still threatening, but by now we have seen so many die, it can be played off as just a gag. Meanwhile, look at Episode 6. Do we see people die there? Yeah, and is it played of as a joke? No. They know what tone they need for the right scenes, and I respect that. Murder Drones simply is a fantastic show!
That's all well and good, but for some people it can come off as either over used or just a little too silly. This however doesn't bring down the show in any way. If they continue to do this I can honestly live with it.
I think the thing whit like them not caring about death, and also the comedy timing has to do whit the murder drones/drones programming; like how they are not supposed to questoon things, or hold grudges, so they don't fight whit humans, how they have been in this kind of cycle of life and death for a while, and so they grew a thivk skin, also has to do whit their adaptability considering they are worker drones that go to expoplanets to get minerals, and stuff like that; so all that combined, creates like a being that is PROGRAMMED to not actually care, unless his life is at stake, we see that pretty much in the opening were 2 parents jist trow their infant in an explosion so they can both run away, what happens a lot in nature whit wild animals... And if we are being fair, I think the only ones that break off those conditions do get the absolute solver, because Uzi didn't like rules, and actually QUESTIONED STUFF, while Doll actually have her parents fighting back for her (I think that's the reason she wants revenger because the way I see it, V didn't just kill and eat her parents, she did so while they were fighting for their lifes ans protecting her, a thing you can see pretty well in the flashback of her memories if you pay attention); also there are many, many theories for why the drones act the way they do... One of them is V (that's a personal theory of mine), she is like a vampire robot, and she was abused before dying and turning out like that, so she decided to become like the "bad guy" so she wouldn't be in control anymore, becaus when she was vulnerable, she not only got lobotomized, but also killed her own boyfriend and turned both herself and him into a monster... That's a HUGE trauma if you ask me, and it makes sense, because in some of the marketing she is labelled as neurotic; which by definition means: "Neuroticism is defined by a propensity toward anxiety, negativity, and self-doubt. It is often experienced by constantly rehashing worst-case scenarios in your head, and can be linked to a high level of guilt, worry, fear, and depression." So yeah, the story is very deep and well rounded, but because of the fast paced, people don't tend to pay attention to those details...
Hm. you've definitely given me pause for thought on this. I also like how you've done your research into the characters traits. Appreciate the comment 👍🏾
@@Raytobe thanks; is because I like writing and stuff in my free time; so I tend to analyze the characters psyche quite a lot... Many people, specially these days don't tend to pay attention to what they watch, be it Disney movies, or cartoons or music video and tend to call everything a plot hole; even when it is not. I tend to say that just because a character didn't behave a way you wanted them to doesn't mean it's a plot hole, specially if they are not human, and they at the same time are supposed to mimic human behaviours, because humans are inconsistent by nature, so it makes no sense, specially if the characters are all villains that kill people on a daily basis, and see things that are pure nightmare fuel everyday to behave all sunshine and happiness... This is not an offense to you though, is just a food for though that sometimes, we have to think in the why instead of the logic behind it. Remember that the worst monsters in the human world did horrible things for completely nonsense reason, like Hitler that had Jewish friends and couldn't get into art school and had a miserable life and so on and decided to wipe out entire populations, or the french that killed their monarchy, even with the queen that was not as bad as they said, and even after her death said she was sleeping with her son (it was a lie), and so on... Humans have zero motives to be so evil and stupid compared to these fictional characters, and many other beings in the planet earth, and yet here we are constantly destroying each other for the most inconsistent reasons possible. I can only not make an excuse when the writing is so bad that not even the writers seem to know what they are doing, as it is the case per example Vivziepop into HB and (probably) in HH... Anyways, I am sorry if I came out as rude, but those nitpicks every time a character acts "inconsistent" bothers me a lot lol, and I needed to point that out considering I discovered that what I just mentioned was kind of confirmed in the opening (idk if it was in the opening but it appeared in the show) whit a picture of the workers drones just passing by while some of them were getting killed by a human machine. So yeah, anyways, I hope that I have helped in something? Or not, again sorry for sounding rude lol. Also if you would like to know more about these theories you can ask me, since I have many of my own based on the things that I saw on the show lol. Anyways thanks :)
Hey there Ray, I think I have a suggestion of a video in a possible future that talks about SMG4 as well, could you talk about the main SMG4 series too please? Because I think a person like you can give a lot of good thoughts about those videos.
It is actually very predictable in the next episodes Tessa’s robot nicknamed a will probably tell uzi that n was the one who killed nori and then there will be a full angst overload with cyn probably taking over for a while but sorting out in the end with rather death or redemption/ rehabilitation
Murder Drones is just incredible. Not gonna lie I feel like it is the first actual original series Glitch have did. Yeah Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise were great but they only appealed to SMG4 fans. (Including myself). I think it has so much potential. Many of the animated series here on YT have been incredible
The art situation reminds me of the make-a-wish kids over on roblox being doxxed and told to kill themselves by traders because the kids got a few hats specifically made for them At this point it's illegal to be surprised that people are being harassed over dumb things like this, it's bound to happen. It's still saddening that "people" go to such extent because of a few twitter posts. Mfs still click on it fully knowledgeable that they hate it and then get mad at the creator when they could just close twitter and go outside
Jesus Christ, I had no idea that happened. That's downright awful. I honestly never expected this to happen over an indie show but here we are. People really do suck sometimes.
Well i can certainly say that im incredibly hooked with MD and i cant wait to watch more of it. J best girl by the way and i hope she gets more scenes soon
@@Raytobe yeah, i may have guessed as much based on the video xd V is alright as well, shes grown a lot on me throughout the series as at the start she probably was my least favorite character as she just felt kinda bland and simple. But by now im fairly fond of her. Still id say my other two major faves after J would have to be Cyn and doll. Yeah i like the antagonists xd idk their just most intriguing and cute i guess.
@@RaytobeI mean, compared to a marvel show’s episodes, I’d say that a thousand times better, AND it looks better to boot! They deserve props for doing this much each episode with that.
I theorized that the reason why most of the drones were so chill with murder was because they were programmed that way so their owners could abuse them without risking an uprising. Sure, it’s probably just to keep the story going, but it’s a viable reason as to why the murder in the show doesn’t have a lot of reproductions.
Yeah I guess that makes sense. But I don't believe that EVERY worker drone is incapable of showing some sort of empathy because we've seen that been proved several times in episodes.
I think the points like "tension killers" I guess silly but are also some what unique and well executed in my opinion. as for "self awareness" of Uzi is more like a FACADE (so like a fake personality rather than her actual personality) rather than "self awareness" or a commentary on her personality, it is also definitely humor on the writers end. Congrats to anyone who read that It was not a rant i promise, just sharing my opinion thanks for reading it. Edit: Something that maybe they are going for more of a silly style is the name of the robot making company JCJenson with how the "in space" is spelt with a lot of extra letters.
Lol i forgot i made that comment (1:05). Another good review. I especially wanna talk about one con i still wrap my head around... E1. Why did Uzi say that the landing pod is still usable if fixed and that she wanted to murder all humans, when the series clearly took a different direction? Ep1 was a buildup for nothing, becouse it went backwards to the starting point and continued going the opposite way. And for me to understand the story, it took the hivemind the fandom is to make theories and piece together clues to make the series make sense. Also btw my favourite tracks are the Knife Dance and Solver Uzi.
haha, hey man welcome back! regarding your point about E1, yeah that is kind of weird since they had all the necessary means to go find the humans but things went in a different direction. Maybe its because it was merely a pilot, and the second episode was going to start off where we left off, but a few things have changed? who knows honestly.
@@Raytobe they still got quite a few amazing ones, but they definitely overdid it in episode 4. I loved the episode, but there was absolutely no tension that wasn’t ruined with a joke. Episode 6 did things much, MUCH better.
I was also very concerned about when characters died randomly And nobody like noticed or cared I knew it was part of comedy But I just think it over did it there
I share your sentiments on the shipping war nonsense, while I myself will definitely take a romantic subplot over none any day the drama and toxicity that tends to grow in communities from it is almost unreal, between the NxV and NxUzi shippers I'm just awkwardly standing of at the side watching it all go down while thinking "why can't we appreciate both? They're both good." It's all really silly.
@@Raytobe Idk how familiar you are with it, so I'll try to keep this short. _(I lied, it's not short)_ I genuinely would. It starts off with very low-budget animation, but after volume 3 it just gets better and better in my opinion. Many felt that it fell off after volume 3, in part because of Monty, the creator, having died between 3 and 4 iirc. As for the characters, I think they're fun, cool, and interesting. There's so much to love about them. Even the antagonist(s). In regards to the story, I know it's been criticized to death, but I personally fell in love with it and the world, and I just got more interested the more I watched. I've watched several reactions to RWBY, and not a single reaction channel that I have watched _hasn't_ fallen in love with it to some extent, despite the flaws that some notice.
I love Murder Drones, especially the Absolute Solver concept and the dynamics, my only (and number one) problem is: Death is treated waaaay to lightly in the series, again as you said, it's a comedy, but I honestly don't think that something as serious as...well...DEATH should be treated like some sort of everyday thing. "Oh, somebody died. Anyways, moving on!" But...I'd honestly pick this over Helluva Boss. Don't get me started on that.
I was about to reply saying that meta runner was amazing, but then I read the rest of the reply, and I agree with you.
Frfr
If someone has seen episode 6 of murder drones you know the most saddest part of the entire series i won't say it if someone has not seen it
It has to be getting a second season with its popularity.
I wouldn't use the words "true success" but i absolutely get your point and 100% agree with you.
I’m not a big fan of horror either but they went HARD with Murder Drones.
Episode 2 was definitely chilling to watch ill give it that
Honestly, i hate horror as well but most of the time im so invested into whats going on and so drawn in that i often dont even notice the horror elements xd
Yeah, Murder Drones is made for Cool horror rather than scary horror and I’m loving it!!
I get the whole point of the show having fast pacing but the beauty of it is I find myself learning new things and everytime I rewatch the show keeps it interesting.
Yeah, I can absolutely get behind that way of thinking
Me too, in fact when chapter 4 came out I didn't understand almost anything of what was established until now, since from chapter 1 to 3 you could even get an idea of how much time had passed from chapter to chapter, but hey, I guess it's intentional, Since when chapter 6 came out you know why in those places where Uzi investigated there were claw marks or warnings NOT to look at the light and all that.
Murder Drones quickly became my favorite indie animation series on youtube, i just love the vibe this show has. The character dynamics and lore are also great imo, i cant wait to see where it all goes next.
Same here!
Yes
I'm certain "tension killers" are deliberate choice, for the sake of keeping level of horror under control for wider audience. Because there are jokes right after EVERY single scary moment.
Understandable. For me personally, as i said in the video, it would kinda dumb intense moments down. Its something i can live with though
Except Ep6 stops the tension killers. And it's SO GOOD without them. I get that the show wants to be comedic, but it doesn't need those killers as frequently as Ep1-5 had it.
@@TMega5612 It would kill dramatic self-sacrifice if they were in EP.6.
Glad to be back 😁 and yeah, so much passion and work was put into Murder Drones, and it can only get better from this point onwards
that fandom discourse on twitter is the exact reason why I try not to interact with fandoms too much, no matter if it's my favorite series on the internet or on tv, stuff like this always happens and it's for the stupidest reasons, especially with murder drones
I love this series but I don't dare exist on twitter in any capacity
It's so odd though, this is the kind of show that I normally wouldn't be very interested in and yet it's one of my favorites overall lol
Yeah its wired, but it just works. Its a shame that there's always gonna be some downside to a show gaining traction and thousands of fans
Despite its few flaws and confusing lore, Murder Drones will always remain my favourite show.
good to hear!
Lore isn’t confusing..? Besides just brutally clotheslining and sidechecking V and J to the side, not much to complain about!
@@Spino-hx2mr it’s a little hard to keep track from time to time in my opinion
@@VortekTheUnfunnythe pacing makes no sense
Given glitch’s past project meta runner, murder drones will most likely end on a cliff hanger for season 2
knowing Liam we might only get a cliffhanger considering his track-record

Thank you, Josh!! 👊🏾
Wait a goddamn minute, it's you! Hello josh.
I kinda like the tension killers, as it fakes you out. On the edge of the seat, then leaning back, then shoved out of it into the fray.
Thats fair
Tl-Dr Copper 9 intentionally Mass produced Absolute Solver.
sure
Go for it
Intresting🤔
@@johnsmithfakename8422
My own headcanon is very similar to yours in regards to the Absolute Solver being a catalyst for emotional complexity in the drones but with a few extra elements..
I get your point and agree with the statements but I think you used one of the worst examples of a ship drawing by using Cougar’s thumbnails as they can be REALLY problematic 💀
Other than that great video🎉

So happy to see that you're back! It’s been a while since you’ve made videos!
Yup, it's been far too long. Thanks for stopping by!
Now that he’s working with a whole team of animators I highly doubt that they’ll struggle to finish the show, especially with how much support it’s getting
yeah, fingers crossed. but it will most likely happen.
Facts.
Thank you for the story, i enjoyed reading that but thank you most of all for watching!
I do wonder when season one will end, so far it has been building up to an epic climax
Yeah, makes you think how the series is gonna end since things are getting intense
Its been said that it'll only have 8 episodes

Indeed.
Okay, thumbnail says “Creepy new series” like the pilot hasn’t been out for over a year now.
Still though, I love everything about this series.
Well, this is my first viewing/experience with murder drones and its "relatively" new, as i said. But yeah. The series as a whole is fascinating
7:55 this event was one I couldn’t go to, but my siblings went to in my place. My brother asked the question I’d written out to Liam and it was the best response I’d gotten though a video. Ah, that's pretty cool! Fingers crossed, you get to go the next live event because there's definitely gonna be more.
This Is a theory i've seen before and One i believed for a bit, but the problem with It Is that There Is ONE more Drone with emotions and compassion:
Thad!
That's a pretty smart way of looking at it🤔
@@Raytobe Admittedly, there are a ton of other theories about this series that are even bigger.
I'll admit the tension killers and the murders without consequence is I think a part of the comedy that I realise that some people might not like but I still think that's what they're going for I love the show more for the fact they ignore all the deaths and the tension killers I find it hilarious and at least for me it doesn't actually break the tension its just a second where it stops I dunno I think while overall everyone likes this show I think it needs a certain sense of humour to truly love it all
Yeah I totally agree with your point there. Just a matter of preference really. I appreciate the comment!
But for Murder Drones, it just seems to make sense.(no hate on HB btw It’s just a preference)
The characters in murder drones, are robots. I relate to this on a huge scale since I’ll make a fourth wall joke about my life, knowing it’s a fourth wall joke, and hope that I might be on the Truman show and the audience knows what’s happening in my mind then (let’s not dig into that lol)
Again, these are just my preferences and interpretations! Disagree if you’d like, if you’d like to discuss why, go on ahead, just be nice about it!
Also tbh ship wars are so dumb iwttg whenever their are two characters with good/great chemistry or a character that had an interesting interaction with another character, there will ALWAYS BE A DUMB SHIPPING WAR-
I like your way of thinking👍🏾
@@Raytobe lmao, thanks. Btw, I made a pretty good video.
Murder drones is like homestuck it’s a bit confusing but everyone loves it and maybe hates it at the same time
That's a good way of describing it
I really love this show and I know it can have flaws but you can't be perfect. I do hope Glitch keeps it up the good work especially when The amazing digital circus.
I hope so too!
Took the words right out of my mouth. Apretiate the comment!

I really should rewatch murder drone again i love the show it was kind of the thing that started my taste of interesting or was a regular show we will never know actually i don't know but yeah
Yeah MD has that affect on ppl lol
Underated channel!
Thanks!
I am from Latin America and I must say that from here we love murder drones 😼

Once that theme song started playing in the pilot, I had to keep watching
The action, music, environment, and characters just blew me away
Yeah they've definitely created something unique here
I honestly really really like Murder Drones yes it's a bit confusing to understand fully but that probably will take 2 or 3 re-watches to understand. Although it's confusing to understand at points Liam Vickens is a creative mind. It ain't my favorite Glitch Productions series but it might eventually
Yeah, it definitely has the potential to be a fan favourite. I quite like it myself.
Also watch his other animations and stories, they're really good
Doesn't really take re-watching it just takes paying attention.
Sounds fun, glad you're enjoying the series so much
13:50 v explodes and turns into a missile that shoots into lizzy’s direction and explodes
Totally understand what you're saying, Taraku, and my grips with the series is nothing against the series as a whole.
But yeah, apretiate the comment!
@@Raytobe Oh yeah I got you don't dislike the show!! Just wanted to share my opinion on the comedy, that's all
i would say that that tension killer is done on purpose to.. well... kill the tension; i think the show is intentionally going for silly horror
That's a HUGE trauma if you ask me, and it makes sense, because in some of the marketing she is labelled as neurotic; which by definition means:
"Neuroticism is defined by a propensity toward anxiety, negativity, and self-doubt. It is often experienced by constantly rehashing worst-case scenarios in your head, and can be linked to a high level of guilt, worry, fear, and depression."
So yeah, the story is very deep and well rounded, but because of the fast paced, people don't tend to pay attention to those details...
Hm. you've definitely given me pause for thought on this.

J best girl by the way and i hope she gets more scenes soon
Personally, i prefer V, but yeah, J is alright 😊
@@Raytobe yeah, i may have guessed as much based on the video xd V is alright as well, shes grown a lot on me throughout the series as at the start she probably was my least favorite character as she just felt kinda bland and simple. But by now im fairly fond of her.
Still id say my other two major faves after J would have to be Cyn and doll.
Yeah i like the antagonists xd idk their just most intriguing and cute i guess.
As said by glitch a episode of murder drones cost around 7k dollar's to make
Jesus.
@@RaytobeI mean, compared to a marvel show’s episodes, I’d say that a thousand times better, AND it looks better to boot! They deserve props for doing this much each episode with that.
Sorry I miss remembered The budget per episode is actually 200-300k USD @@Raytobe
4:22, I can confirm, I have watched it with my mother, friends, grandmother, dog cat, uncle, aunt, and my pet [REDACTED] 😄
Lmao, nice!
if the murder drones need oil to live why not have them eat the oil in the abandoned cars
The thrill of the hunt lol
Loool
Murder Drones is awesome
It sure is
Honestly, the knife dance and get prommed can be listened on repeat back to back (as they're two halves of the same song/scene)
Yeah, that music number is pretty good i must admit
19:04 yeah I agree for this
Love your videos!!!!
Much appreciated friend! Thanks for watching 👏🏾
What I love most about this show is the lore and story!
MD is my sorta thing and which is prob why it sparked a hyperfixation haha!
👍🏾👍🏾
It Takes time for quality over quantity
Yup
14:44 I swear she does an emote here.
Lool
I theorized that the reason why most of the drones were so chill with murder was because they were programmed that way so their owners could abuse them without risking an uprising. Sure, it’s probably just to keep the story going, but it’s a viable reason as to why the murder in the show doesn’t have a lot of reproductions.
Yeah I guess that makes sense. But I don't believe that EVERY worker drone is incapable of showing some sort of empathy because we've seen that been proved several times in episodes.
yay new video
Yes sir!
Nah, this was a genuine comment, and i totally understand what you're saying. Thanks for watching anyways!
Bro when he just said "I'm pretty sure that Everyone and Their Mother knows what Murder drones is" How did you know that
I just know, yaknow? 😏
With so many jokes, you’re bound to get a few bad.
Inevitable. 🤷🏾♂️
@@Raytobe they still got quite a few amazing ones, but they definitely overdid it in episode 4. I loved the episode, but there was absolutely no tension that wasn’t ruined with a joke.
Episode 6 did things much, MUCH better.
for the art bit
its definitely weird buuuuut not worth doxxing people for.
Exsactly! Thank you.
I was also very concerned about when characters died randomly And nobody like noticed or cared I knew it was part of comedy But I just think it over did it there
right? but a few people in the comments have somewhat justified it enough for me to kinda let it slide.
@Raytobe Right, I guess it's not too big of a deal, R.I.P Random Characters,, And V Although She'll probably come back
when you said TADC is different is it a positive or a negative thing? also one of the best MD videos I have seen
Definitely a good way. Im absolutely down to watch and reveiw TADC once it releases😊
Precisely. It's all just so unnecessary.
I watched Murder Drones since day 1! and seeing where its at now is really awesome!
Yeah GLITCH/Liam have really come a long way!
nobody:
me to murder drones: BE QUIET AND TAKE MY MONEY
💸
good editing, good shit, good job
Thank you🫡
Fun fact: 18:52 it actually murder drone comic dub
Which is super 18+ REALLY
yikes.
7:07 As a major RWBY fan, seeing RWBY here makes me very happy.
Would you recommend RWBY?
@@Raytobe Idk how familiar you are with it, so I'll try to keep this short. _(I lied, it's not short)_
I genuinely would.
I've watched several reactions to RWBY, and not a single reaction channel that I have watched _hasn't_ fallen in love with it to some extent, despite the flaws that some notice.
i didnt notice he was aussie intill he said take a gahnda
I'm British 😅
@@Raytobe haha lol tbh did not think you would respond
Believe it or not, I even met a few of Murder Drones' voice actors
Oh nice dude, im sure they were really fun and chill people
Guy with an idea but more importantly guy with a type😉
Lool
I love Murder Drones, especially the Absolute Solver concept and the dynamics, my only (and number one) problem is:
Death is treated waaaay to lightly in the series, again as you said, it's a comedy, but I honestly don't think that something as serious as...well...DEATH should be treated like some sort of everyday thing. "Oh, somebody died. Anyways, moving on!"
But...I'd honestly pick this over Helluva Boss.
Don't get me started on that.
Lol, dw I get you. Iut of curiosity what about Helluva Boss dont you like?
I CAN LISTEN TO IT ON REPEAT AND I DID FOR MUTIPLE DAYS
Loool
Don't you think they skip too much stuff between episodes?
Yeah kinda.
18:36 this is the reason i should honestly say we dont need a romance subplot, because then all this crap happens
I sort of agree. Just a shame that some people just cant contain themselves.
Fr over a damn ship
whats the song at 5:29 also great video :)
I got you.
