I am a guard member currently and the path to becoming a PA has been challenging to say the least, between figuring out what route is more feasible civilian PA school or the IPAP program while also fighting to complete my Bachelor’s I feel like I’ve been going in circles.
I hear you. There are lots of decisions to be made at the stage or in. The most important thing is to know that there’s no definite right path. There are advantages and opportunities which ever way you go. Sometimes we get in analysis paralysis and caused ourselves a lot of anxiety, when it doesn’t have to be so hard. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a difficult decision, but gather some information, check in with your gut, and then make a decision. You can have some back up plans in your mind in case you need to pivot, but once you make a decision, I think things will be more clear and you can focus on moving towards your goal. Ok. I emailed Maj. Latta and he said to find a National Guard Recruiting office in your area and call them. He said to ask to speak with the Army Medical Department recruitment contact. I just googled Army National Guard recruiting office near me and several popped up. Hope this helps!
