My son is a OCI(US Citizen) studying 11th and 12 th in India. Recently the Govt announced, He can directly take the JEE advanced irrespective of the JEE mains. Is this correct ? Also they will be awarded super numerary seats in IITs. Does it mean He will have a separate eligibility criteria different from the regular Indian students ? or does he need to get the same rank as the Indian students for getting a seat in IIT.
Hi Srinivas, Thanks for asking your query. Sure, let us guide you in this case. Your son is an OCI card holder and a US citizen, so he can directly take the JEE Advanced under the Foreign national category if he wants to take admission to IITs but in the case of NITs, IIITs, and some premium institutes, it's compulsory to attempt JEE Mains. Yes, supernumerary seats were created for foreign nationals this year in IITs. However, most of the eligibility criteria are the same but we don't have enough data about the rank criteria. Please try to get a good score. We're planning to make a dedicated video for foreign national students in the coming days, once it's done, we believe that will be really helpful for you. Hi Goutam, Thanks for asking your query. Well, there are several options like JEE, NEET, and other competitive exams as per your eligibility and interest. If you want to make a career in engineering then JEE is the best option for you. If you want to make a career in the medical field then NEET is the best option for you. Dear Riaz, Thank you for your query. Just to let you know, CIWG is a category within the DASA program. If you meet the eligibility criteria for both DASA and CIWG, you can apply to both programs and receive separate ranks. This allows you to select the most advantageous option. Dear Jyothsna,
Thanks for asking your query.
Based on your data, you're eligible for DASA (Non-SAARC). You could have chosen the OCI option in the JEE Mains form, which we have already covered in this video - ua-cam.com/video/UHMgNDkSyVM/v-deo.html.

Hi Srinivas,
Thanks for asking your query.

Which exams can I give after completing my twelfth? can you tell me
Hi Goutam,
Thanks for asking your query.
Well, there are several options like JEE, NEET, and other competitive exams as per your eligibility and interest. If you want to make a career in engineering then JEE is the best option for you. If you want to make a career in the medical field then NEET is the best option for you.
DASA is not a separate exam rather it's a counseling process based on JEE scores/scores.

Dear Riaz,
Thank you for your query.
Just to let you know, CIWG is a category within the DASA program. If you meet the eligibility criteria for both DASA and CIWG, you can apply to both programs and receive separate ranks. This allows you to select the most advantageous option.
Choosing a seat through CIWG has several advantages over selecting a general DASA seat. For further information on the differences between CIWG and DASA, please watch our latest video at ua-cam.com/video/-ze8nAaK9yw/v-deo.html.

For the *DASA Seat* ,
Round 1- 8064, Round 3- 37088, Special Round- 40284
