@@JJSSBU Heff is a good friend of ours and actually is one of the founders of our channel!!! If you go back to our oldest tier list series he’s one of the people sitting there giving his hot Mario Baseball takes
after watching you play pikmin 2 kaizo, lands of torture, and now this, i can confidently say the amount of tedium you're willing to put up with in stupidly hard games is far more than i ever could. props to you for even getting as far as you did, this looks maddening
Fantastic video dude. We’ve all been at the point where a run is destroying our mental health lol. Looking forward to the return but for now take that well-deserved break
I just couldn’t keep booting it up to have horrible encounters and wipe to a stray crit anymore lol I took a 10 day vacation between attempt 20 Erika and Giovanni and I just couldn’t bring myself to keep it going
22:01 I think that half HP abilities just don't proc sometimes. My Drampa in my current run has the same problem...but I present: a theory. The first time I noticed this bug, it was after eating a Super Fang. Berserk didn't proc. I figure "whatever, it'll proc next turn" and again, no SpA boost. Sadly, I don't recall is Drampa has even or odd max HP, but I do recall the bar was yellow, so I think the issue is that a "procs at half HP" abilities won't proc if you're in yellow bar but not half (or at exactly half rather than below half), and then the next turn the game believes that you already passed the requirements last turn and it just refuses to proc. I'm leaning towards the second, because it sounds like a simple programming error if "if HP is less than 50%" vs "if HP is less than or equal to 50%"
Just found your channel. Based on the quality of this video I thought you would’ve had at least a couple hundred thousand subscribers. Keep up the good work! You just got one more subscriber
I remember playing an older version of RR pre-minimal grinding and even after getting the eighth badge I just could not go on. I get the appeal of RR to some extent but man, that AI. Props for making it as far as you did!
This was really entertaining and a great overview of your attempts =) it got me to look into radical red myself (not brave enough to nuzlocke it yet though!). Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned next =D
This was an awesome supercut of all the attempts and was very fun to watch! Considering how unforgiving the rng in this hack is, would you consider trying a 'necromancer'-lock? In this variant the run only ends when the living box is empty and after accomplishing predetermined goals like clearing a gym, or maybe just a boss trainer in this hack, you get to 'raise' a pokemon from the dead box. I don't think it is any sort of popular ruleset, but my friend and I had a good time with this idea since it can keep runs alive longer and helps avoid grinding through the beginning as many times.
I think that idea has merit but usually I like the finality of a fainted Pokémon being gone for good, bringing them back feels like it loses some of the stakes
@@realHeff I totally get the enjoyment of the high-stakes in traditional nuzlocke rules. Expanding the idea behind this, my buddy and I were in different time zones and both had busy schedules, so we wanted something more lighthearted that we could chat during. Also we were doing a randomizer soul-link variant for comedy and laughs rather than a traditional run through of a game, so the rng factor was a lot higher. Thanks for your time and the great content!
During youngster jeffs fight where it freeze dried the Mightyena. I wonder if the AI saw intimidate, and maybe the possibility that arm thrust wouldnt kill after 2 hits? So it used freeze dry as insurance as if Mightyena faints itll hit Floatzel anyway. That or it saw a frozen Floatzel and saw a non threat to keep around for a turn or 2. Or, or, im stupid and am giving too much credit to coding
11:45 Intimidate Pokemon activate an "anti-cheese" to dissuade abuse of it. Being, they read your choice regarding that Pokemon and counter your action. That's why it didn't freeze-dry, it knew Gyarados wouldn't be there to get hit by it.
Tbh, my biggest thing against Radical Red is its massive hard on for Legendary Pokemon at the end of the game. It's artificial difficulty imo, and it makes me feel like the devs intended for you to have a full team of Legendaries yourself which is something I don't like. Idk, maybe someday I'll feel like taking the game on with my beloved Raticate, but I doubt I would get that far.
Well, I've personally used VBA for a long time and had no issues with that ever, but I can't really think of a way you can play Radical Red on actual hardware.
Emergency exit didn’t activate because he was knocked below 50% by the Gulp missile ability instead of a direct attack
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I looked it up on Bulbapedia and didn't see anything that said that. Maybe I should check again.
The marbles KILLED me dude. The punch line of doing them for the game corner was awesome
Some people say I’m still playing marbles to decide details in my life to this day…
Dinger City, definitely the last Channel I expected here :D

Mad respect for having ditch the starter on there for the marbles lol

0:50 that wouldn't have happened if they didn't heavily nerfed Aegislash.
Nice.
I'm playing through this without Nuzlocke, and it's BRUTAL regardless
Emergency Exit not procing is a known bug in the version you played
emergency exit does not activate due to gulp missile not being a direct attack, this could also happen if it hurt itself in confusion
Looking forward to you doing this again in the future. This look so daunting and I'm intimidated to give it a shot!

i like how he bitches about crits he could have easily maneuvered around lmao
Feeling like the no emergency exit was because of a technical oopsie from gulp missile maybe? That's the only thing I can think of...
I think emergency exit just doesn't proc if you don't get below half with a direct attack
Just got done watching your old series about a week ago! Can’t wait to see you what you do with this!
This is inspiring me to do a radical red nuzlocke
Did you not see how this man suffered?

excited to watch heff sure its a banger
The AI is able to see what you’re switching into ahead of time. That’s how it knows how to hit your Pokémon coming in correctly.
Thinking of doing a scaled hardcore randomizer run with random abilities, what do y'all think?
Ive been busy to watch your livestreams Heff but im glad youre keeping up the content and appreciate all the commentary and editing for this video ❤

Nowhere does this say "nuzlocke" but it's a nuzlocke.
He threw in ditch the starter like robot devil throwing his own name on the wheel
new best heff video for sure
What’s the marble game called? I have some important life decisions coming up.
I remember that run, So entertaining!
Wow you reached that goal of 21K. You’re actually 3K subs over it. Guess that’s something in the future when you get through Pikmin 4.
Finally some pokemon content on youtube
love the mario kart wii music.
At a certain point it became a staple to play Mario kart music as we got back to misty every attempt lmao
TIME FOR ROUND 3
To this day I have never seen a single person complete a radical red nuzlocke, even on baby mode.
Interesting. I've actually seen a few people that have beaten Radical Red Nuzlockes before.
@@superlombax1561 I actually have seen one recently, but he abused the eggs that you can get from shards, which I consider to be too cheesy.
im sure pokemon challenges has beaten it
What program did you use for the marble race stuff?
Wooo have been waiting for this :D
This was a wild ride all the way through. Take a sub, dude.
I usually only watch your pikmin content but this should be interesting!
Poor dude can't keep a Gyarados alive to save his life
This^
Damn good editing I wonder how long this was in the works for
Amazing video
Question, when running a rom for stream, does it matter what emulator do to use??
No not usually!
20:00 isn't it because water resists ice AND the target is frozen so the AI sees that and just goes for the other one?
This mod has XCOM Long War vibes.
I'm excited to see how long it takes to get to 21k because I'd love to see you run this again
Hope the marbles return
29:00 "great encounters like Illumise" didn't you call that thing garbage bug in the first rad red stream?
Attempt 19 was the dumbest wipe😅 but good work
I can't believe noone told you that you can skip all the double battles by having only one mon in your party.
A COLOSSAL unit.
I haven't even watched the video yet.
I'm sorry you subjected yourself to this.

"He knows I have Gyara" are you intuiting a link between Gyarados and being read, or have you been told by now?

@@scott--1629 Why did he even choose raticate when you can have a Mightyena that will carry you on 99%of the game
is there a full vod of this somewhere?
This is 85 hours total of gameplay lmao the vods don’t exist anymore
My first run back on Radical Red I got really lucky. I got a Hisuin Zouru from Pewter's Egg, and Cosmog from Ceruleans
Did you win?
So how exactly can I get this romhack of the game? I always hear that emulators and Roms can be really unsafe for your PC
Well, I've personally used VBA for a long time and had no issues with that ever, but I can't really think of a way you can play Radical Red on actual hardware.
Whats the song starting at 31:28?
If you think you're such a [BIG SHOT] nuzlocking for no reason, then try clover
I just wanna know what marble sim that is.
It’s called “Marbles”
my fucking dude.....how are you doing this
Does the game cheat the Crit rates?
Very likely seems so. It happens to me 10 to 1, my odds against the opponent, I mean. And I play on normal.
poor guy

are you nuzlocke that?
Yes. He is Nuzlocke that.
