Wishing the best to you all, at Reef Builders. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy 2025! Power to the hard work with the publications about the tanks and tests!
Absolutely love the passion and dedication behind Reef Builders’ exciting updates! The studio transformation and upcoming plans sound amazing-can’t wait to see all the new content unfold. Keep inspiring the reefing community!
Love the idea of consumer report. Hope it will be provided in layman’s terms (not everyone geeks out on equipment). Favourite moment is when Remy almost pulled a dance move describing swerly colours/growth patterns 😂
Hey- I’ve been following and sharing RB with my friends for a long time now. I greatly appreciate the articles, pics, pods, etc anyway…. Just some info that I’m seeing. I’m in the plumbing industry. We do a ton of healthcare, hospitals, labs, etc. We stay pretty tuned in to the water since the patients at these places can be very vulnerable to waterborne bads.. Low flow fixtures requirements are causing issues with legionella bacteria. Legionella causes legionaries and can be very deadly. Basically, there is more water sitting in the distribution systems pipes in the ground and in the buildings. This is promoting bacteria harboring biofilm growth inside of the pipes and lower chloramines levels to the end users depending on their locations. I’m starting to see some municipalities using/injecting chlorine dioxide to treat water from the source to the end users, and I think they’re having tk use as much chlorine as the epa/fda allows to treat the water. Chlorine concentrations will vary depending on your proximity to the source. The use of chlorine dioxide is interesting. From what I’ve read, it acts a bit like ozone and isn’t indiscriminate like regular chlorine is. Additionally, it is more soluble. I dk why I’m rambling about this…. I guess the point is, test your source water and keep an eye on your carbon blocks!
Great show and thanks for the update, life happens. But sometimes, bawls in your mouth is all you need. Nice shout out to deep blue, they are one of my LFS and a pretty cool little shop in Burbank. I love the idea of the “consumer reports” in the reefing community, it’s something I wished we had for a very long time. It’s definitely needed and will be a welcomed addition/contribution to the hobby, so thank you for doing this. Cheers! #calikidcorals
#calikidscorals this is just the news I wanted to hear, Salem at Reef Builders! I've wondered why it wasn't happening, sounds perfect and please, get off on the right foot and start videoing ALL of this for us, we want to watch the progress.
#calikidcorals My favorite part was you guys up loaded a video. Is always great to see and hear from you guys. Keep up the great work. I wish Salem would have prioritized family and friends. We are not going anywhere, time is short with our loved ones. I hope I am not getting too personal, I just appreciate you and wish you the best.
Oddly enough I know a guy and every time we meet we talk about how Dr. pepper changed their recipe back in the day. Anyways I really enjoyed the episode! #calikidcorals
One more comment 😂 related to RODI: you guys should consider trying to get a guest on to speak about RODI water production. It would make an interesting topic. Preferably someone from a non-aquarium water filtration company. I think there are a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings in the hobby on RODI water production and I’d love to hear a back and forth with someone who knows water filtration. I’ve heard of some people replacing RO membranes every few months to be safe-my belief this is overkill and I’d love to hear the insight from someone who knows filtration in and out.
#calikidcorals I'd like to see a review on the reef octopus" octopulse " wave makers. It's a controllable pump in the 2000gph range, and pairs well with Hydros
The market is in desperate need of consistent product reviews. Plus because reef builders is in need of no products. Subjectivity will be set to the side, and us hobbyists can process the info and make a decision. #calikidcorals

Awesome that Salem is taking over the studio! 👍🏼❤ #CaliKidCorals

Oooh! If you do a brackish system try and include some brackish puffers!
Great update
#calikidcorals can’t wait for the reviews
I have a 60 gal tank with corals only purchased from CaliKid Corals. Always in excellent condition and they seem to all hold their colors.
Salem you said all kinds of tanks everywhere.....maybe space for a Coldwater tank? ;)

As someone who loves their macro algae for nutrients I can’t wait to see those experiments #calikidcorals
Family above all. I can wait until January for the Auto tester results.
#calikidcorals
I like Remy's neck
You're so damn weird and I love it. ~Remy

#calikidcorals My favorite part of the podcast was not having to hear Raj's excuses for not having done anything on his tank.

The root beer bar sounds amazing.
It was so niche! Fun times. ~Remy
Rejoice Salem, RFK will have real cane sugar back in all soda soon enough 😂😂😂
Salem what are you going to use to test the GPH of different pumps?
we are still working on that for part 2 - I have a few ideas in mind - fairly hard to quantify
How about the new jecod wave pumps
they are in the review
How about a series following the set up and running of the new tanks BRS style? Maybe without the “how to” stuff.
way ahead of you - a lot less how to content - I will be making changes to the systems overtime, troubleshooting, providing data, adding livestock etc
Than's facility is probably so quiet you can hear the blood running through your body. #Calikidcorals
Pretty sure that bottle of Dr. Pepper is a twist top..... #calikidcorals
I’ll be completely honest - I didn’t even try to open it normally
I am likely a fool
Hold on…bawls still exists and is root beer now…I remember the blue bottle drink. I do like me some Boylan root beer
I bet they had it! ~Remy
#calikidcorals

#calikids Bam
Bam - cool zoas. ~Remy
#calikidcorals root beer bar getting root beer wasted. Bawls was my go to gamer fuel at LAN centers in 2006. Nostalgic
LAN PARTY! ~Remy
#calikidscorals How to I get a Bahama Llama sticker? Ever thought about reef therapy merch?
Countless time I’ve gone to petco and picked something up cheap cause it’s mislabeled
I would think that quite a few companies will be reluctant to donate products for reviews that contain the word 'honest'
Going forward we will be buying all products if companies decline to participate
#calikidcorals watching Salem say "pink boobies" while trying not to crack a smile
Bawls too. ~Remy

Disqualified, lol! ~Remy
@@ReefTherapy I still have not figured out where to put this please help me reef jesus.
Freshwater? Yuk....😅
Are Salem‘s interest really diversified or does he just have ADHD?🤔
