I love to watch these local European drag racing events , cause there are cars we don't see in regular NHRA or PDRA racings , for example that Alfa Romeo is osm , very threatening looking machine.

The margin of the head start is determined by what time the driver of the car says his car can possibly run. For instance if one driver says his car can run exactly 10.00s and the other driver says 15.00s the slower driver will get exactly a 5.00s head start. In this way, if both drivers left at the perfect light and ran the perfect time, they would tie. The lights are accurate to 1/1000th of a second, so any imperfection in the run results in a loss. Ties happen, but they're extremely rare. The reason this system was developed was to get rid of the "He who has the most money wins" syndrome. Someone with an extremely low budget can go out for a day of racing (at a much slower speed) and the guy who likes to go fast can still be in a competitive race. Hope this helps!

2 cars 2 differet bracket, if they ran heads up it would be a boring race cause the faster car wouldve easily won. so they make it interesting.
