I was 17 and completely oblivious to how much I actually loved her, and how special of a connection we shared. I didn't realize it until a few years after we lost contact with each other. I've tried finding her again, with no luck. It's been 9 years and she still pops in my head from time to time, like right now. I actually stumbled across Dermot Kennedy while watching Hozier's Mahogany session years ago. One of Dermot's videos popped up in my suggested playlist and it was love at first listen. Dermot has been on my daily rotation for going on four years now. His voice has carried me through some difficult and beautiful chapters of life. Back in 2017, I had tickets to go and see him at a gig in Montreal. It was a small venue since it was back before he was blowing up the way he is today and tickets were ridiculously inexpensive I think $25/piece. Unfortunately, I had to miss the show because my daughter was only a couple of months old and the three hour drive to the venue wasn't going to happen. I gifted my tickets to my brother and introduced him to Dermot's music. I am so happy to see the success that Dermot is receiving. It is so well deserved! I am keeping my fingers crossed that he may have more Canadian dates in the future but I am incredibly bummed to know that the next time it won't be a very intimate gig.

This video caused me to check out a bunch of Dermot Kennedy’s music. Credit to whoever produced this, I like this stripped down set better than the full-length albums. Those feel over-produced and crowded in comparison to this masterpiece.
Absolutely amazing. I have been a fan since there were only a handful, and I must say, as I've watched on his journey,.. I am SOOO glad that he is getting the recognition he so rightfully deserves. When it comes to lyrically and emotionally creating a song, he knows no limits. Just when I think I can't like his music more, he creates new renditions that go beyond my expectations. When it comes to music, some have the capability of being so intune, .. they become music themselves. I'm not a psycho fan, I just feel his music as it was intended,.. and i'll take a soul poored out on pages over the top 40s any day. Music is meant to be felt.. and he feels it. Absolutely amazing. I have been a fan since there were only a handful, and I must say, as I've watched on his journey,.. I am SOOO glad that he is getting the recognition he so rightfully deserves. When it comes to lyrically and emotionally creating a song, he knows no limits. Just when I think I can't like his music more, he creates new renditions that go beyond my expectations. When it comes to music, some have the capability of being so intune, .. they become music themselves. I'm not a psycho fan, I just feel his music as it was intended,.. and i'll take a soul poored out on pages over the top 40s any day. Music is meant to be felt.. and he feels it. And he dedicates his profession to making sure we can feel it to. An amazing Artist. Thank you 🖤
