- Y'all wanted more, so we're back for round 4! Per usual, no damage was done to equipment! Some of this stuff you just can't plan for when filming.
Cleaned out the archives with some older shots (old layout being give-away), and had a few more incidents when grabbing footage over the past few weeks. Couplers have been replaced accordingly.
For the second CSX shot...engine was never in any danger at those speeds. This actually happened prior to filming, as engine was moving over what I thought was a power block...A thud ditched that theory!
Always fun to watch the HO scale fails and derailments! It's great that you can take these incidents in stride, especially knowing no equipment was harmed. The mix of old shots and recent mishaps keeps things interesting. Replacing the couplers sounds like a smart fix. Loved the story about the CSX engine and the 'power block'-it’s moments like these that make model railroading so unpredictable and enjoyable. Can’t wait to see what happens in round 5!

Superb! Incredibly detailed layout, truly wonderful. The whole production is 'Speilbergesque'. It was a Joy to watch. I admire the effort required to make that film along with the truly beautiful modelling skills.

As hilarious as this is - and it is - most of your issues with freight cars are either not enough weight or you need to check coupler and trip pin height. Most of the time you can put the grey or orange fiber washers in the boxes to help with droopy couplers too.

Goodness gracious that's a lot of accidents on your layout! 😱It's not so hilarious if your engines or cars derail & fall to the floor may crack break or be destroyed! My worry was the CSX AC4400 falling off the layout! The trip pins on the couplers are sometimes too low. On the freight cars: you may need washers to even up the trucks/ undercarriage besides fiber washers there is a better alternate metal small washers Dubro I highly recommended. This could be worse: The N.T.S.B. would be concerned with these accidents! 🙃🤓😆

I hate it when those little coupler releases are facing downwards. Whenever I get a new train car I try to make sure that they're facing up or flip the coupler upside down to fix the issue. It's a bit tedious but it helps with the derailing a lot more than you'd think.
I take back what I said about the sound effect, they are funny and I cant wait to see more installments
