Totally agree.the island is becoming to commercial and modern, but we still love the place. We drove over the bosset bridge years n years ago and must say that was an experience because it was getting dark😅. If all this modernisation is going to help the islanders financially then fair play BUT DONT GO TO FAR WITH IT. Kefalonia is a place and should always be a place to relax in Greek style and culture. We will be there in June and September and steady booked for 2025.
My my never knew that your that green fingered..Bravo.. Lots too do..😮would look stunning when finished im sure.as for the harbour and its changes i do see why its in need to go as new regulations and health and safety play a huge part .alot of the island was left in tuines from the earth quake..as you all know.so ideally a fresh new look can benifit all..maybe the fruit market will be in place in a modern setting..thats a selling points so money coming in will still be worth keeping just my views...see ya friday Rudgey..😊😊..
Great to see you back in Kefalonia. My wife and I have visted the food market many times. They do seem to make some strange decisions in Greece. I've heard they are going to clamp down on beach brollies. 8 or so years ago they banned the covers outside Tavernas so they all had to purchase large umbrellas. Beautiful scenery you have there at your abode. Love those mountains. Looks like you're gonna be busy with the gardening. Great video matey, keep up good work. 👍
Yes i was talking to the Baker and he said they are making the footpath on the other side of the road wider, 🤔this will cause cahose lol, any how yes its nice to be home, im very lucky to have this place. 🇬🇷👍
HI Rudgey, you are quite right about the bridge. I well remember crossing it by car in 1992, which was the first time I visited Kefalonia. Also I don’t remember all those lampposts either; back then. The fruit market was a distinctive/popular feature in Argostoli and it does seem a shame to loose it.
Rudgey Rudgey Rudgey, it's not moaning it's called I went back to the UK and slotted back into the English way of life 😂. Beautiful surroundings Rudge I can see why you want to live there.
Hey good to see you back. We see you loitering on your bike the other day As to argostoli I guess you known the island fro many years as the saying goes you gotta break a few eggs to make a omelette. Sure it will turn out all good in the end. We received our golden visas last week so this is home for the next 5 years we did bump into you and the hobbit in agia efimia last year
What a shame. Although we've never shopped at the fruit and veg store, it's been a fixture as long as we've been visiting. The town is going to be the poorer without it. 😢
I am so glad I saw the place before they ruined it completely. It won't be the same with the fruit market in full view or sitting with a Mythos at Patsouras. They call it progress. I call it sad. I'm still coming back though. Xxx
I haven't actually taken a walk through argostoli center yet, was that the only fresh fruit and veg market? I do hope they can put the stands back outside by summer though..Some interviews with the locals would be interesting to see, i wonder what they think of all the changes at the moment. Is there a sign anywhere to say when they expect to finish works around the market?
Haven't seen anything about when the works are due to finish, i use the frhit and vedge the other side of the road next to tbe gyros place, the family grow most of what they display
Hi Rudgey I think this is bad news about the fruit market I have been coming to kefalonia since 2001 and quite upset about it we used to get some fruit the first day we were their think if they carry on with this sort of distraction of aggustoli it will make people not want to come their we are coming in June the11 this year my wife dose not want to come back 2025

Congratulations, see you out and about 👍😁
If greece becomes like Spain then I’ll stop going. The one thing I love about the Greek islands are their authenticity.
What a shame. Although we've never shopped at the fruit and veg store, it's been a fixture as long as we've been visiting. The town is going to be the poorer without it. 😢
Yes true..but still lots to see that's old heritage and unspoilt.
I am so glad I saw the place before they ruined it completely. It won't be the same with the fruit market in full view or sitting with a Mythos at Patsouras. They call it progress. I call it sad. I'm still coming back though. Xxx
I've been going to kefalonia for over 20years, think it's very sad, shame all the changes, probably because of all the cruise ships coming in

There are lots of places that haven't changed, but as you say, its a shame about Argostoli
