This guy came so close to making even bigger home run history than anyone can imagine, all he needed was just one more base runner during one of his two-run home runs to complete the "impossible" homerun cycle.
I was there at the game! Scooter was like a 1 man wrecking crew, he knocked in 10 of the Reds 13 runs. I only go to like one game a year & I picked the right one this year!
I wasent there but when I do go there they loose I've been to a reds game but it was in St Louis at cardinals stadium playing the reds and the reds won
Dude almost actually also hit the “Home Run Cycle” too. He hit a solo, 2 2-runs, and a grand slam. If he hit a 3-run jack he would’ve hit the ultra rare and ultra coveted home run cycle, which has never happened before in MLB history. This is the closest I’ve seen it happen
Mark Whiten of the Cards hit 4 homers and 12RBI vs the Reds in 1993. A slam, two 3-run homers, and a 2 run shot. So that was closer to the cycle, considering it's more probable to hit a solo shot.
rich durbano he's actually not that little. Theres a pic of him on Google with a cutoff shirt when he was with the brewers and he surprisingly has some muscles.
Dude Scooter Gennett left the MLB because of covid 19. He was my coach at Babe Ruth baseball park in Sarasota Florida. He went to Babe Ruth because that's where he played when he was younger. lol. Scooter Gennet was my freaking little league couch. for proof check his insta there is a photo of him with my team
4 dingers, including a granny! He hit at least one to each field, pull/straightaway/opposite field. They should have been playing music from ‘The Natural’ cued up for the 4th homerun.
Had the pleasure of meeting Scooter Gennett when he was playing triple A ball in Nashville. When I heard about him hitting 4 home runs six years ago I was so excited for him and I wish he was still playing, but I’m also happy he’s enjoying his retirement ⚾️
clevelandcbi no joke on 9-11-15 i was there when the Baltimore Orioles hit 2 grand slams in one inning against the Kansas City Royals. you could actually see me and my dad when they paused the first grand-slam for a replay i was in the first row down the 3rd base line we r really blury though
Front Row View Level Right behind Home Plate with youngest son and Grandson...feel for the folks that left in the 7 inning or soon because it was a blow out....was worth sticking around for to say the least...
Got to see Scooter hit these HRs and I was also at the Votto mother's day game where he hit a walk off grandslam after a rain delay where they let us leave and come back!! 2 games for the ages!!! Good job Scooter! GO REDS
Ride The Scooter Reds!! He deserves a spot in the starting lineup. Scooter Gennet is seing beach balls in the batters box!! Way to go Scooter, Congrats!
1:00 looked like a balk but I thought umps were supposed to call time if nobody was on base still... either I'm getting old or I'm an idiot... probably both
This had to be the best 👌 offensive game of all time for any player. 5 for 5, 4 Homeruns and 10 RBI. You could argue that others may have put up more RBI, but no one hit 4 homers in a game doing it. I miss Scooter. Feel like he got shafted because of a freak injury and Reds wanting to shed the payroll. I remember Griffey having a similar day at the Riverfront back in the day. Think he had 2 or 3 homers and 8 RBI. Happened to be there for that game.
Mark Whitten hit 4 in the early 90's with 12 RBI's to go with. If your metric is 4 home runs and number of rbi's, that would be the best game. This is up there though.
1st Home Run: AND BYE BYE BABY!! 2nd: YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME 3rd: HE HAS DONE IT AGAIN 4th: CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Yes, we can. It's not fantasy, it's reality.
I was there it was probably the best game I've ever been to. I asked my dad who do you think the worst player is and he said scooter then that game he did the four home runs and I said really scooters the worst
A fundamentally sound player who knocks in more runs than most full time players this season. Your dad needs to learn baseball skill Lol. The worst player on the team is Alcantara or Kivlehan* Now, we could go into the pitching, but either way.. don't listen to your dad! LOL edit: And he is outplaying Peraza who is supposedly a future all-star prospect (he only hits singles, if that)
K Fraz Well that was about 1 or 2 months ago or something but I don't watch every game but I do watch a few but I've been to a few games this years so I really don't know a lot and stuff
Very disappointing his career was cut short so soon. Looking back through baseball history there are a few others like Gennett who excelled for a brief time but had to stop for injuries or medical reasons. Jim Greengrass in the 50's etc. 0:58 Glad it wasn't called but I'm curious why they didn't call a Balk right there...seems like the very definition of one.
Robert Santana it was Military Appreciation night @ GABP. June 6th, D-Day Anniversary, the Reds have done it ever since Bob Castellini bought the team about 10 years ago.
This guy came so close to making even bigger home run history than anyone can imagine, all he needed was just one more base runner during one of his two-run home runs to complete the "impossible" homerun cycle.
Super cool stat. Grand Slam, Three run, two run and solo shot. Wow!!!
Yea I noticed that as well
So the odds of that would be 1 in how many mlb at bats all times?
I was there at the game! Scooter was like a 1 man wrecking crew, he knocked in 10 of the Reds 13 runs. I only go to like one game a year & I picked the right one this year!
Medmann48 I was there too
No more than 10
I wasent there but when I do go there they loose I've been to a reds game but it was in St Louis at cardinals stadium playing the reds and the reds won
the entire city was there
Dude almost actually also hit the “Home Run Cycle” too. He hit a solo, 2 2-runs, and a grand slam. If he hit a 3-run jack he would’ve hit the ultra rare and ultra coveted home run cycle, which has never happened before in MLB history. This is the closest I’ve seen it happen
Pujols almost did it in the world series
Mark Whiten of the Cards hit 4 homers and 12RBI vs the Reds in 1993. A slam, two 3-run homers, and a 2 run shot. So that was closer to the cycle, considering it's more probable to hit a solo shot.
He should have been mobbed at the plate, seriously. This is only the 17th time this happened.
Compare that to the 23 perfect games thrown.
ThatWarayGuy the reds season is so sad this cant even make them happy and I'm a reds fan!
Too bad he didn't hit 2 grannies, it would have put him in a smaller company of 14. It has only been done 13 times.
I just looked up a stat; that 10 RBI puts him in a company of 15.
A special night that puts him in rarified company.
@@dariusklein595 we got hope this year! I just went to the game today and they won
That 4th HR ball gonna be worth a lot of money!
Joe Bigornia he's gonna get it back tho
Joe Bigornia It was given back to Scooter by the kid that caught it in the post game.
Joe Bigornia the kid who caught it gave it back to scooter
Whatever Scooter Gennett ate before last night's game, he is getting a second helping the next game.
Looked very emotional rounding the bases after his fourth
Still watching in 2021
Watched this on. Fox Sports Ohio here in Cincinnati. It was amazing!
Scooter Gennett. Who wudda thunk it? Congrats, little man.
rich durbano he's actually not that little. Theres a pic of him on Google with a cutoff shirt when he was with the brewers and he surprisingly has some muscles.
Beast mode! Just awesome to see. Thanks for posting.
Damn. Welcome to the history books, Scooter.
-a Phillies fan
I will never forget this
The Reds sure did sign on some gold with Gennett.
Pretty cool catch by that kid on the 4th homerun too!
Dude Scooter Gennett left the MLB because of covid 19. He was my coach at Babe Ruth baseball park in Sarasota Florida. He went to Babe Ruth because that's where he played when he was younger. lol. I can’t believe yall forgot about Scooter gennett 😡 he’s top 10 in my book
i was there i was the kid reaching for the second home run
Tekk34 man u gotta hop over that grass, balls worth at least 500
Tekk34 You saw that in person? Awesome!!!
clevelandcbi no joke on 9-11-15 i was there when the Baltimore Orioles hit 2 grand slams in one inning against the Kansas City Royals. you could actually see me and my dad when they paused the first grand-slam for a replay i was in the first row down the 3rd base line we r really blury though
Tekk34 man to watch that in person must've been special. Dude had some night at the plate!
Tekk34 cool
Front Row View Level Right behind Home Plate with youngest son and Grandson...feel for the folks that left in the 7 inning or soon because it was a blow out....was worth sticking around for to say the least...
Wish the reds still had him
the best game by a batter of all time
Got to see Scooter hit these HRs and I was also at the Votto mother's day game where he hit a walk off grandslam after a rain delay where they let us leave and come back!! 2 games for the ages!!! Good job Scooter! GO REDS

He deserves a spot in the starting lineup. Scooter Gennet is seing beach balls in the batters box!! Way to go Scooter, Congrats!
First player in Reds history - and his season hasn't gotten any worse. 🤘🏻❤️
Gennet is a legend
Some say that man is still waiting for his high five. 1:18
Hi All, Scooter Gennett's feat is awesome! His hitting mechanics are impeccable. Take care, QP
And this is why I play dynasty with the Reds on MLB18.
Picture Perfect, one of my favorite players, and against my most hated team!
Bruh reds suck🤮🤮🤮
Damn Scooter.... Have yourself a game !!!!
I never knew this happened wow 😯 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
We miss you Scooter wish you were still playing for the Brewers
i feel like im watching dodgerfilms
anthony cahill lol I get it
And the Brewers just let him go.
And after back to back 25+ HR seasons, the REDS gave up on him, traded him to SF, and he now needs a team (I want him on my Cubs!).
First Red ever?? Wow, they've been around since like the civil war, that's amazing.
Chris L Cincinnati Reds were the first official baseball team. Scooter has something going on and I think he has a bright future.
Chris L the reds have never been known for Power hitting theyve always had go great contact hitter
how are they not known for power
-votto
-duvall
-schebler
Well there were only 16 players who done this before him on 100+ years of baseball so it's not that unlikely
The most home runs by any Red was by jonny bench with 350, though we have had some of the greatest sluggers of all time.
That's awesome! What a game!
I was there so awesome man I miss him in Cincinnati
Why is he still a free agent!!
HE OBVIOUSLY BAWKED AT 0:58
Nobody was on base.
Balked*
And no he didn't 😂
@@TehDrewsus
I'm going out on a limb here, something tells me during the past 7yrs since making his comment, he probably figured that out.
@@gregbaker9857 thank you for bringing this to my attention. It has been noted.
Every baseball fan needs to watch this because it will most likely never happen again...history in the making.
It happened 16 times before he did it, it will happen again.
Congrat Scooter
Man it must've sucked to be a cardinals fan not just because of this loss but the fact this kid was a 1 man wrecking crew and he was 5 for 5
He hit more home runs that game that he had hit total that season leading up to that game
0:58 that’s a balk
random drug test in 3, 2, 1... lol
Hummer Shah Did you say something Dunecoon?
Giants got this guy and didn't have to give up any prospects? nice!
1:00 looked like a balk but I thought umps were supposed to call time if nobody was on base still... either I'm getting old or I'm an idiot... probably both
Welcome to the Giants!
You will always be a red scooter! Traded or not! Sad to see you go.. right after you said you wanted to stay a red as long as you could😢
Cory Lara-Garcia yeah I know I meant it like matter where he goes he will always be a red.
I didn't know that this happened because I only watch ESPN
I remember Mike Cameron hitting 5 home runs in a game IIRC
He got the cardinals back for the mark whiten game 💯
Can you imagine.
*scooter “well actually yes”
This had to be the best 👌 offensive game of all time for any player. 5 for 5, 4 Homeruns and 10 RBI. You could argue that others may have put up more RBI, but no one hit 4 homers in a game doing it. It literally happened to the Reds by Cardinal Mark Whiten. 4 homers and 12 rbis in one game. Lol u.
Nigga just hit 4 bingos
1:29 what was this pitch selection 😂🤦🏼♂️like 0-2 and you throw a meatball??
Wish the Nationals would sign him for '18!
And the reds responded with not giving him a contract then being surprised when he didnt pan out
That's mah boy
0:59 I'm pretty sure that is a balk
Tater The Tot But there was no one on base, so it doesn't matter.
Michael Buno ok thanks
Tater The Tot that's is Gant's normal pitching style anyways, so it isn't a balk.
not if he does it everytime. looks ridiculous though
That’s just how he pitches
Scooter giant
went to the game a day or 2 after this
Where is this guy now?
not playing baseball. He struggled after his great 2017 and 2018 seasons. Talent is fickle.
HISTORIC! - Some don't realize he was BORN in CINCY. (Got his name here when to avoid getting in trouble as a kid he gave a false name - ha)
I have scooter genets old mlb batting gloves and he lives right next to me.
Boy he has been money this year for the Reds.
bro was playing mlb the show on rookie this game
0:58 BALK
I do not like the reds and I love the cardinals but I have to admit this is amazing
gennett became adam dunn that night
All those homers were on fastballs. Cardinals...let's see if he can hit a fastball...
How was the pitch at 0:57 not a balk
Fricken dip no one was on base
Its is usual windup and he does it every pitch so it's not a balk
U can have a ball with no one on it's just a ball
he needs 2 tomorow to get 6 in two games for the mlb record
Of all people, who would of thought that Scooter Gennett would hit 4 home runs?
YAY😄😄😁😁😄😄😄😁
I was there.
I was not.:(
Mark Whiten hit 4 against the Reds back in 1993.
I guess this makes them even 😁
Yo Jeffrow Hittin’ Mark Whitten
Always good watching the cards lose
An amazing night
With a name like Scooter, you have no choice but to become a professional baseball player.
😂
Tool at 1:01 flexing thinks he’s so cool 😭
1st Home Run: AND BYE BYE BABY!!
2nd: YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME
3rd: HE HAS DONE IT AGAIN
4th: CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Yes, we can. It's not fantasy, it's reality.
Nash wayz You must be fun at parties.
lou Albino I cannot stop laughing from this, no clue why. 😂
@@loualbino5536 I am thank you very much!
i was at the game right before this
how come he was not mobbed at plate after 4th HR ??
not a walk off home run
- but that's my guess. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure why.
Who else wishes there name was scooter
I was there it was probably the best game I've ever been to. I asked my dad who do you think the worst player is and he said scooter then that game he did the four home runs and I said really scooters the worst

I know it was an away game but the Devils beat the Panthers when you went to that game
0:59 balk?
At 0:59 it was a balk
Nobody was on base.
someone check that Cork bat
Kath Beck because the cardinals just give up
lol go reds
Best team in Reds history?
woah
Did the Reds borrow the Jersey's they're wearing from the Padres? They're awful!!
