For everyone who doesn't know yet: Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from the remaining members of the legendary Queen. Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrangement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition" (three years later they repeated their praise on TT in March 27th 2023 with the words "absolutely killed it".) Angelina sang 3 times in this series. The third was the exhibition finale. She didn’t finish this ‘competitive’ series because she received a concession from the producers to have no additional contractual obligations after the performances. The following year she signed with Republic Records.
What does "she did not finish this competitive series" mean? She completed all of the performances required for the show. You're correct about not being contractually obligated following the show. But had nothing to do with her not winning. The public (or, in this case 'super fans') voting for this can be almost comical. Fremantle, owner of the contracts, is probably regretting the process following some recent nonsensical winners. AJ didn't need to win. She just needed the exposure in the US matket.
If you look at the 2 AGT "Champions" finals, where the socalled "50 Super Fans" did the voting, singers (and there were many very talented ones) did not do well both years. Yet in the regular AGT shows over the 17 or so years, where the fans vote online or by telephone, singers have done very well. The super fan system of voting is absurd. @@tomrogers1305

She is only 18 years old, and from Oslo in Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when they are ready. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life She has recently performed at the Nobel Prize 2023, and also performed at the FIFA AWARD, also performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on UA-cam with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.Angelina, is the young legend! The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a artist who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. Her Grandmother Mery Zamani is an Iranian painter and poet and is a huge inspiration to Angelina. Angelina's mother Sara says she inherited her artistic abilities from her grandmother, and they remain incredibly close to this day.

Yes indeed. There are two things that are as wonderful as her singing. 1.)She and her family are wonderful people. Loving and kind. They done a lot of charirable work. 2 .) Her fans, the Angels are numerous and a very interesting group of people. Among them novelists, philosohpers, scientists, truck drivers, military veterans, mothers, daughters grand mothers and grand fathers, musicians and producers, rappers and metalheads etc. As diverse a group as you could find. But they are all inspired to AJ's dictum to be kind and spread love. She has inspired so many to want to become better people and to be creative people. Not a cult. Just the good stuff without the BS.

Oh yes, Angelina's outfit's, designed by her, material was based on a painting by her maternal grandma, Mery, who was a child painting and poetry prodigy in her native Iran. Mery, who is Angelina's mentor and best friend, surrounded Angelina with music by jazz divas, like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Dinah Washington, et al,, from infancy. Angelina did not win the competition, by choice, because she didn't want to sign with Simon's record label. She signed with Republic Records later that year, because they offered 1. musical autonomy, 2. making her their #1 new artist and 3. (most importantly to her family) RR would not push her music career until after she graduated high school. Angelina graduated in 2023 and she subsequently released her, original, EP "Old Enough".
A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Painted originally by her grandma Mery Zamany, an iranian painter and poet, on canvas, then copied to cloth and designed by Mery and Angelina, sewed by Angelina. Today, she has her own design for women´s couture. If you have money to spare😁, you could order and buy some. Singing since the ripe age of 18 MONTHS, she decided to practice her craft around 3 yo. Grandma Mery (mom´s mom) brought her to JAZZ and SOUL. Since age 2, she vehemently declined to sing "kiddi" songs. Her knowledge and musicaly instinct was soon discovered and is reknown though the whole of Scandinavia and later the musical world. Norwegian musicians nick namend her THE BOSS, but lovingly and with great adoration. Even today, residing in Los Angeles, this nick name stucks. I mean, when a, in the norwegian music world, highly respected conductor of middling years, asks a 11 year old for musical advise (there is a video), or a 10 to 11 yo girl, friendly but firm, tells a bandleader of around 60 years how SHE wants the song (they were rehearsing) to be played.....he looks at her, thinks through and nodds??? I’ve been an Angel since 2014, I’m 75 and the first time I heard her on a Swedish talk show in 2014 I was jaw dropped and after her NGT performances I knew there had never been another singer like her. She never fails to deliver remarkable performances, her “covers” of songs by the greatest vocalists who ever lived are usually as good or better than the originals, she has covered over 85 iconic singers with over 200 YT videos, there is no one like her. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. Then soon after does an outdoor concert, at 8, doing, Dinah Washington's 'What A Difference A Day Makes' which will blow you away, then at 9 she does a studio video of 'I Put A Spell On You'(Maybe more impressive than Bohemian Rhapsody as she also arranged this song as well). Next, at age 10, she makes several memorable videos. She STOPS sounding like a 10 year old. The first of 3 songs is another classic('Feeling Good' ) originally by Nina Simone(Both this song and 'I Put A Spell On You' were from her first album in 1964.) Angelina did 2 videos of the same song. One at the same outdoor venue where she sang, 'What A Difference A Day Makes"(one year later) and the second on a stage with a full string and brass back-up orchestra behind her. The second song has a history behind it. From what I understand, there is no performance video, only a soundtrack to pictures of Angelina(at 10) and a non related performance of Angelina and a band. The title of the video is called, 'Leaked' because Angelina sang it as a test, but because the adult content(suicide) was too, mature for a 10 year old to sing and, the writers of the song didn't want to change the lyrics. Angelina's family decided to pull out of the project. Somehow, someone leaked this audio and a fan made a video to it and thus, 'Leaked'. This song could've been a POP HIT. Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out early next year. Angelina just recently released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. Those of us who have been following Angelina for many years were not at all surprised by this performance and the reaction to it. No one-no one-listens to Angelina sing and is not blown away by her multi-level talents. From age 7 to now 18, she will stun you with her musicality, her uniquely beautiful voice, and her ability to do what you just saw: take iconic songs you think shouldn’t be touched and make them her own with arrangements that you frequently prefer over the originals. And she does that across five or six genres. Go ahead and jump right in. Watch Angelina at 9 with what might be the best music video you have ever seen. Coming onto the scene as a precocious 7 year old, there are dozens if not hundreds of videos she's produced in her home studio or on stage at one concert or another. Well, you've done it now. You've fell into the Angelina rabbit hole. She has almost 200 YT performances of covers and original songs by her. Today January 10th, she turns 18 years old. She signed with Republic Records when she was 14 and has released some originals with them. Her family wanted her to be able to grow up with as much a normal childhood as possible and therefore Republic has not been promoting her as heavy as they might have otherwise. I'm sure other Angels (what Angelina calls her fans) will provide even more details. Peace. I don't see a comment from Andy Schnell yet, so here is a bio that he put together for your reading pleasure. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Musicians working with Angelina would call her the boss since she knew exactly how she wanted to sing the song and would confidently instruct the musicians. While one could say Angelina was mimicking other artists, there is no doubt she had her own style and created her own arrangements, even at this early age. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition to trim the number of vocalists who passed their audition, and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. The vast majority of the prize money was donated to charity benefitting poor children. Record company executives flew their private jets to Norway to attempt to sign 8 year old Angelina but all were thankfully rebuked. Disney also made an offer but not accepted. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter and allowed Angelina to copyright her version. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon any control over her career. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. You've discovered one of the most uniquely talented artists in the music world, not even mentioning how truly generous and caring soul she is today. She's been doing this since she was 7 and even younger. Check out her four short performances from Norway's Got Talent in 2014 when she was 7 singing Jazz and Blues...and won.
I brief summary of what happened is Heidi Klum's was the last judges' assessment and she, as controller of the Golden Buzzer for that week, pressed it for Angelina, sending her straight to the final. The clip you reacted to left this moment off but it does exist elsewhere on UA-cam. The whole competition - let's call it that - was recorded in the October before it was broadcast in January 2020, which mitigated any opportunity for there to be a public vote. AGT therefore came up with "Superfans"; allegedly a panel consisting of one individual representing each state, albeit the representatives needed neither to come from nor live in the state they represented. Four years on, no Superfan has broken cover. Angelina sang Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' in the final, which consisted of ten acts performing in a variety of disciplines. Even though there were no public votes to count (and the result had made it into the public domain via the all-knowing internet even before the first round was aired), AGT saw fit to broadcast a separate results show a week after the final. Opinion polls in America, frankly the only place they mattered, had Angelina Jordan and an admittedly impressive Filipino novelty vocalist called Marcelito Pomoy way out in front. AGT decided to eliminate five of the ten finalists by totting-up the phantom Superfans' votes for them in five arbitrary head-to-heads. Unsurprisingly, Angelina's head-to-head adversary would be Marcelito, meaning the act with the fewest 'votes' of the two singers must, in spite of their popularity with the public or, indeed, those Superfans, necessarily finish outside the top 5. Angelina lost out at this stage but her uncle and manager has since revealed that her appearance was subject to her remaining independent and not, as is usually the case with acts that win or capture the public's imagination, tied to a restrictive Cowellesque contract. Even now, many lose sight of the fact that productions like AGT are TV shows first and foremost; scripted, edited, dramatized, produced and otherwise manipulated to provide prime-time entertainment. Any competition element is not quite incidental, since competing is the premise upon which the production is based, but there's very little that's genuine going on. Such is their disenchantment that many contestants, even winners, want nothing more to do with these shows after appearing, which probably explains why half the AGT: The Champions 2 roster were in fact runners-up or even also-rans in their domestic shows.

Amazing first reaction to Angelina! One of my easiest subs in recent memory (somewhere between 3-5 days normally😁) I am sickening late to the party, so I don't have much to add at THIS point, but you will see me a lot in the comments in the future IF you continue down her rabbit hole. From what I have read in the comments so far I have to say that I am very hopeful ♥ I can't wait to see what you think about her a bit further down the road. Many attribute this to not be willing to sign a contract obligating her to sign with simon’s label if she won. Around a year after this she signed with Republic. She and ber family wanted her career to evolve slowly. Only doing concerts in summers, no promotion, etc. Her most recent EP Old Enough was a hint that she was ready @ 17 she was ready to be full time. ** She turned 18 today.** She has over 200 amazing performances, not counting brief tiktoks. AGT To win AGT you must sign a contract with Simon, and he then has control of your future. AJ's family would not allow that to happen because they wanted her to have as much of a normal life as possible and still pursue her goals, and money was not an issue because her family is somewhat wealthy. Several producers flew into Norway in their private jets after AJ wone NGT and tried to sign her, but the family did like the terms of the contracts. I believe one of the producers was David Foster. This video of Angelina Jordan performing Bohemian Rhapsody has been viewed over 150 million times.

Angelina sang 3 times in this series. The third was the exhibition finale. She didn’t finish this ‘competitive’ series because she received a concession from the producers to have no additional contractual obligations after the performances. The following year she signed with Republic Records.
What does "she did not finish this competitive series" mean? She completed all of the performances required for the show. You're correct about not being contractually obligated following the show. But had nothing to do with her not winning. The public (or, in this case 'super fans') voting for this can be almost comical. Fremantle, owner of the contracts, is probably regretting the process following some recent nonsensical winners. AJ didn't need to win. She just needed the exposure in the US matket.

If you look at the 2 AGT "Champions" finals, where the socalled "50 Super Fans" did the voting, singers (and there were many very talented ones) did not do well both years. I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life She has recently performed at the Nobel Prize 2023, and also performed at the FIFA AWARD, also performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones.
She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... Her Grandmother Mery Zamani is an Iranian painter and poet and is a huge inspiration to Angelina. Angelina's mother Sara says she inherited her artistic abilities from her grandmother, and they remain incredibly close to this day.

1.)She and her family are wonderful people. Loving and kind. They done a lot of charirable work.
2 .) Her fans, the Angels are numerous and a very interesting group of people.
Among them novelists, philosohpers, scientists, truck drivers, military veterans, mothers, daughters grand mothers and grand fathers, musicians and producers, rappers and metalheads etc. As diverse a group as you could find. But they are all inspired to AJ's dictum to be kind and spread love. She has inspired so many to want to become better people and to be creative people. Not a cult. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on UA-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. G, the suit is literally, the story of her life (13 yo). Painted originally by her grandma Mery Zamany, an iranian painter and poet, on canvas, then copied to cloth and designed by Mery and Angelina, sewed by Angelina. Singing since the ripe age of 18 MONTHS, she decided to practice her craft around 3 yo. Grandma Mery (mom´s mom) brought her to JAZZ and SOUL. Since age 2, she vehemently declined to sing "kiddi" songs.
Her knowledge and musicaly instinct was soon discovered and is reknown though the whole of Scandinavia and later the musical world. Norwegian musicians nick namend her THE BOSS, but lovingly and with great adoration. Even today, residing in Los Angeles, this nick name stucks.
I mean, when a, in the norwegian music world, highly respected conductor of middling years, asks a 11 year old for musical advise (there is a video), or a 10 to 11 yo girl, friendly but firm, tells a bandleader of around 60 years how SHE wants the song (they were rehearsing) to be played.....he looks at her, thinks through and nodds???

I’ve been an Angel since 2014, I’m 75 and the first time I heard her on a Swedish talk show in 2014 I was jaw dropped and after her NGT performances I knew there had never been another singer like her. She never fails to deliver remarkable performances, her “covers” of songs by the greatest vocalists who ever lived are usually as good or better than the originals, she has covered over 85 iconic singers with over 200 YT videos, there is no one like her. Next, at age 10, she makes several memorable videos. She STOPS sounding like a 10 year old. The first of 3 songs is another classic('Feeling Good' ) originally by Nina Simone(Both this song and 'I Put A Spell On You' were from her first album in 1964.) Angelina did 2 videos of the same song. One at the same outdoor venue where she sang, 'What A Difference A Day Makes"(one year later) and the second on a stage with a full string and brass back-up orchestra behind her. The second song has a history behind it. From what I understand, there is no performance video, only a soundtrack to pictures of Angelina(at 10) and a non related performance of Angelina and a band. The title of the video is called, 'Leaked' because Angelina sang it as a test, but because the adult content(suicide) was too, mature for a 10 year old to sing and, the writers of the song didn't want to change the lyrics. Angelina's family decided to pull out of the project. Somehow, someone leaked this audio and a fan made a video to it and thus, 'Leaked'. This song could've been a POP HIT. The title was, 'I'm Still Holding Out For You' One writer put the song out himself(What a a disappointment) Listen to Babby Fuzz's(composer) version before, Angelina's leaked MASTERPIECE. Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. For context... This was the Champions edition (TWO). And she did get the golden buzzer on this performance. Her third performance, Yellow Brick Road is just as good as this in my opinion. Those of us who have been following Angelina for many years were not at all surprised by this performance and the reaction to it. No one-no one-listens to Angelina sing and is not blown away by her multi-level talents. From age 7 to now 18, she will stun you with her musicality, her uniquely beautiful voice, and her ability to do what you just saw: take iconic songs you think shouldn’t be touched and make them her own with arrangements that you frequently prefer over the originals. And she does that across five or six genres.
Go ahead and jump right in. Watch Angelina at 9 with what might be the best music video you have ever seen. I don't see a comment from Andy Schnell yet, so here is a bio that he put together for your reading pleasure. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.

Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Musicians working with Angelina would call her the boss since she knew exactly how she wanted to sing the song and would confidently instruct the musicians. While one could say Angelina was mimicking other artists, there is no doubt she had her own style and created her own arrangements, even at this early age. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition to trim the number of vocalists who passed their audition, and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. The vast majority of the prize money was donated to charity benefitting poor children.
Record company executives flew their private jets to Norway to attempt to sign 8 year old Angelina but all were thankfully rebuked. Disney also made an offer but not accepted.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore and Mexico among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
At age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. The album can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter and allowed Angelina to copyright her version. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon any control over her career.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On UA-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video.
The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles. On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions.
Personally, Angelina is a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music.

I brief summary of what happened is Heidi Klum's was the last judges' assessment and she, as controller of the Golden Buzzer for that week, pressed it for Angelina, sending her straight to the final. The clip you reacted to left this moment off but it does exist elsewhere on UA-cam. The whole competition - let's call it that - was recorded in the October before it was broadcast in January 2020, which mitigated any opportunity for there to be a public vote. AGT therefore came up with "Superfans"; allegedly a panel consisting of one individual representing each state, albeit the representatives needed neither to come from nor live in the state they represented. Four years on, no Superfan has broken cover. Angelina sang Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' in the final, which consisted of ten acts performing in a variety of disciplines.
Even though there were no public votes to count (and the result had made it into the public domain via the all-knowing internet even before the first round was aired), AGT saw fit to broadcast a separate results show a week after the final. Opinion polls in America, frankly the only place they mattered, had Angelina Jordan and an admittedly impressive Filipino novelty vocalist called Marcelito Pomoy way out in front. AGT decided to eliminate five of the ten finalists by totting-up the phantom Superfans' votes for them in five arbitrary head-to-heads. Unsurprisingly, Angelina's head-to-head adversary would be Marcelito, meaning the act with the fewest 'votes' of the two singers must, in spite of their popularity with the public or, indeed, those Superfans, necessarily finish outside the top 5. Angelina lost out at this stage but her uncle and manager has since revealed that her appearance was subject to her remaining independent and not, as is usually the case with acts that win or capture the public's imagination, tied to a restrictive Cowellesque contract.
Even now, many lose sight of the fact that productions like AGT are TV shows first and foremost; scripted, edited, dramatized, produced and otherwise manipulated to provide prime-time entertainment. Any competition element is not quite incidental, since competing is the premise upon which the production is based, but there's very little that's genuine going on. Such is their disenchantment that many contestants, even winners, want nothing more to do with these shows after appearing, which probably explains why half the AGT: The Champions 2 roster were in fact runners-up or even also-rans in their domestic shows.

I believe you have figured that out already. You will getting a load of info (playlists and bio's) about her from her fan base (her angels) and I encourage you to check them out because it will set you up to enjoy her even more. So much to say but I don't want to overload the engine. The more you listen to her the more you will understand exactly what is going on. Hint: Just listen to your heart. We (she calls her fans angels) angels are lucky to have a record of her development, mostly on youtube, from her earliest years. She has told us she has written more than 100 songs. Angelina's wise and loving family signed her to Republic Records (Taylor Swift, The Weekend, Stevie Wonder, etc.) at age 14 but requested she be allowed her childhood. Republic built her a studio to create her magic. She is the singing voice for the 2026 World Cup. Angelina just performed, for the 2nd time, at a Nobel Peace Prize event.

This is a splendid example of Angelina's extraordinary and unique talent, her extraordinary intelligence and musical sense, through which she absorbs and transforms the great songs she loves so much. Great reaction. She got golden buzzer for this, performed 2 more times, but did not win.. Many attribute this to not be willing to sign a contract obligating her to sign with simon’s label if she won. Around a year after this she signed with Republic. She and ber family wanted her career to evolve slowly. Only doing concerts in summers, no promotion, etc. Her most recent EP Old Enough was a hint that she was ready @ 17 she was ready to be full time. ** She turned 18 today.** She has over 200 amazing performances, not counting brief tiktoks. She sings and speaks in multiple languages. She plays Piano, Guitar, and several others I do not recall.

If it was just me that AJ affects that would be fine, but the reaction by the public to AJ's rearranged version of Bohemian Rhapsody, for example, was paramount to an earthquake being felt around the world, this video has been viewed more that 150 million times. AJ's videos have been viewed over a billion times on UA-cam, and over 4 billion times on FB. This does not count Instagram, or TikTok. We don't just have a STAR in AJ, we have a SUPPER NOVA. It is one of the fan favourites though Angelina refuses to sing it again. When you hear IM HOLDING OUT FOR YOU you realise everything about Bohemian Rhapsody is a choice. The light soaring vocals are a choice. Here her resonant lower register are equally emotional and completely different.

To win AGT you must sign a contract with Simon, and he then has control of your future. AJ's family would not allow that to happen because they wanted her to have as much of a normal life as possible and still pursue her goals, and money was not an issue because her family is somewhat wealthy. Several producers flew into Norway in their private jets after AJ wone NGT and tried to sign her, but the family did like the terms of the contracts. I believe one of the producers was David Foster.
