Personally I'd be using a tripod, rotten bottom and elastic it's not much more to carry and more effective then holding a rod and throwing away good bait but each to their own
@cpfcgavman1977 The marks I'd usually fish in comparison to what you've seen in this video are way more sketchy, tripod would be a nightmare and there's nothing quite as good as rod in hand fishing. I don't use rotten bottoms cause I like to get my leds back each 6oz oz cost £1.90 considering I put most fish back it doesn't make sense to lose money for that extra chance at landing a fish. I personally think dirty squid is an amazing bait but after 25/30 minutes in the water I feel the best scent release has already gone..
great vid mate big up, got a question.. would you still use a running ledger in clear/clearish calm to moderate seas? gunna have a go off the reef near me tomo and the weather is sunny af n virtually no wind, i know there aint much hope in them conditions but i need to get out n have a go n never fished off the reef before, was gunna use a single hook clipped down rig originally or a pulley
@stilldiggin6015 I've caught in calm water before on the same rig, definitely not as good I'd use some fluro on the trace and I'd be more inclined to use bait elastic as you baits will last abit longer. Rough seas I use bait, calm ill jump on surface poppers and shallow divers. The in-between can go either way I suppose. Always worth a try though, better to be out then sat around doing nothing
