Did people really completely forget the whole plan of the wedding crashing at Whole Cake? Big Mom always has haki enveloped on her for defense, thats why they had to disrupt her mind allowing her to be damaged
poeple definitely forgot... even thought the whole point of that storyline was to show us, that yonkos are never NOT using conquerors haki
Now try find where is stated that she always has Haki coated on herself, that's a pure lie and fan headcanon that ignores fact that she is like that since ever, someone can be mad durable and have nothing to do with Haki

they literally never mentioned her being enveloped hin haki at all times.
That is the only explanation that makes sense. If she is innately tanky, she would still have high defence despite being distressed which we know weakens haki.

The Kid memes are funny but I still respect him as a character a lot. He makes mistakes but isn’t afraid to challenge anyone and his abilities are kinda slept on. Law was more impressive but without Kid, Big Mom wouldn’t have lost (vice versa). Kid is strong

Your Big Mom take? Nah. Big Mom defeated herself by severely understimating Kidd and Law. If she used ACoC and the giants techniques in the fight, Kidd and Law would have died.
Remember Oda made Kidd and Law to be Luffy rivals...But that isn't true anymore. Just compare how much Luffy grew compared to both. Now tell me, you really think that Law and Kidd could win a 2v1 against current Luffy? Nope.

It's pretty impossible to compare attacks that never landed on anyone, but I find it unreasonable for Shanks to have an attack that's stronger than Kaido & Big Mom's combo attack
its fine cuz kaido and big mom put like no effort into it. also this was pre king fight zoro blocking it who was getting ragdolled fighting king before acoc/figuring out lunarians. basically king could also block that attack momentarily or ppl of similar level to him. but yonko are far superior like kaido himself has stronger individual attacks. so does shanks, wb, bb, luffy and BM

The issue is, this wasn't kaido and big mom putting a lot of effort into an attack. This was just the two of them using an attack together. which, yeah likely would've finished them at the time, but by how much? Would they just be too injured to continue fighting? or vaporized like some assume. I find it hard to believe they would straight up die solely from the equivalent of a double elbaf spear or thunder bagua.

Why are ppl acting like Kidd wasnt caught off guard? Shanks used future sight and intercepted Kidd's attack right when he was about to fire it. Thats the only reason he got oneshot. Kidd is obviously still no match for Shanks, but he isnt weak enough to get oneshot imo.

Kidd gets the Zoro treatment and Law gets the Sanji treatment. Zoro is normally gets the most damage and harder opponents than Sanji the same with Kidd. Kidd is kinda like Luffy with no plot armour as well. Kaido falling from the sky was his Sabaody arc but didn't get a Haki bloom/training arc like Luffy. The Shanks incident is basically the Kaido 1st encounter with Luffy.
That makes alot of sense but keep in mind that this is a stronger Kid that we all see surpassing early Wano Luffy
For Shanks to one tap Kidd is surely something

Also as well Kidd mechanical expertise isn't fully explain like Law with his df he still needs surgical knowledge Kidd's mechanical building requires actual engineering knowledge beyond just a df power and Vegapunk himself is the only person building weapons in similar fashion(exception of Franky of course who still sorta builds off Vega as well) is too much of a coincidence

It's hilarious the amount of people who downplay Kid, he took multiple attacks from Kaido and Big Mom (Who easily handled Marco who's a First Commander). Yeah he lost to Shanks, but he's a character many would at least put in their top 5 Strongest characters.
Also Kid's Awakening is slept on, because if Haki can negate Devil Fruit Powers and it works on Big Mom, then it's gonna work on a lot of people who are weaker than Big Mom.

Haki is not always shown shaded, look at apoo in wano he use armament against the cp0 agent nd there’s multiple instances where this is shown. Also devil fruit abilities can overcome haki, Kidd has basic haki but great control ova his powers
Kidd didn't even know you can damage Kaido using haki. He doesn't have armament haki or observation haki. He can't even knockout someone using conquerors haki

If you put roof piece Zoro against divine departure he’s getting packed up. The thing is both Zoro and Kidd got alot stronger post Wano. While a fully on guard kidd might not get one shot, it’s still a no diff fight.

The idea that Kidd has no utility left in the story seems crazy, Oda simply has to write some utility. Considering that Oda is bringing back pre time skip characters left and right, why wouldn’t he bring back Kidd? I won’t be surprised in the final battle features wapol, Arlong, foxy, and Gin. Including all the living supernova seems easy.

The thing is, Oda cares about narratives. You mentioned Naruto vs Sasuke and Goku vs Vegeta. Narration wise, they do not provide anything except years old rivalries. Luffy has nobody that he considers a rival. You go ask any OP fans now, you won't get a definite answer on who is Luffy's rival. Why? Because that's not how Oda works.
You mentioned Roger vs Whitebeard but conveniently leave out the fact that there are no old generations of pirates before them, except for Rocks who Roger and Garp killed. The 'new generations' are currently co-existing with the OGs because the OGs are relevant to the narratives.
I say it's lame if Oda decides to forego his narratives and force Law and Kidd to join the race for the goal line simply because they're Luffy's 'rivals'. That means in one way or another, Law and Kidd have to somehow utterly defeat either one of the 3 emperors to join Luffy in the race, but Oda just showed us few chapters ago that BOTH OF THEM LOST.
