OK I have come to a conclusion Mr.Moto man, Brian Cooley and Steve Hammes are the only reviewers who are NOT biased AT ALL. Good video like always sir!!!
I would pick Tesla P85D if that is an option. Since I live in California, range is not an issue, and it is very nice to have that kind of performance with such low maintenance. Plus it looks awesome too
Hmm.... 120K and I need it Go-Fast Luxo. Call me crazy, but your video on the RC-F kinda sold me. There is something really special about that car. It isn't a world beater by any stretch, but it's kind of a latter day Japanese Olds 442. Comfort luxo 2 door, svelte good looks, parts bin heredity, and big NA power! And with 120 to spend I'd have plenty of cash for mods!
2015 C7 z06 (z07 pack with the 8 speed auto because 0-60 time bro), Cts v 2016 (because mature and break neck speed), and a Jeep SRT8 because East Coast Winters, ( 2016 Shelby gt350 as a ringer). Speed, reliability, Murcia, and speeeeeedd nuff said.
You certainly don't buy European to not get eaten alive by out of warranty repair cost now do you??? @ John marsh, I break a few things back to the shop drop a few bucks in the utmost worst case scenario then back to the road, you break something while under warranty fine much like I am, out of warranty well now you've gone and done it. "honey we might have to start thinking about a second mortgage, and axing the kids college fund. The audi is in the shop....again."
Nice little moment there my friend and great choice of road as usual. Are those aluminum mirror caps I see on the side mirrors? Nice touch Audi! My first thought was RS7 but I'm gonna go with E63 AMG Wagon with some help from RENNtech. Super sled ftw. This falls in the 2013 category. Gotta get it before the 4Matic took over. Rolling burnouts home from the grocery store please... A CTS-V Wagon breathed on by Mr. Hennessy in TX would also do the job quite well. 👍
Figured you would appreciate that . . . :) We will need to get you and the ST out there (after our respective court dates) and no, that is NOT Stunt Road. All good contenders in your list . . . See you soon.
I get your point, but why isn't the Pontiac G8 included in this discussion? The G8 has that luxury styling and look with the intensity, and power of a muscle car.
G8 - especially the GXP - is a worthy car but the original point of the discussion is a factory in house 'tuned' versions of luxury sedans, coups and convertibles. That said, one could do a second hand G8 or even a new SS and pocket at least US$10,000 of the mythical budget . . .
Also the gs f is a member of that Lexus line up same power as the rc f, though I hope the find a way to squeeze more power out of that engine, with the next generation of f cars. Happy Lexus IS playing at all though to be honest that lf-lc is still lurking somewhere out there in the dark, I see you Lexus keep it up I could fit a jdm vehicle on the roster.
I would get an Audi S5, black on black. I have always wanted a coupe, Audi's always have great exterior design, and with the price range given, I could get a loaded S5 prestige trim level with all of the options and have money left to get something to drive in the winter because that car would not touch the snow.
E63 AMG 4matic wagon - with the jump seats in the back - 7 seat go fast crazy wagon which can swallow a ton of cargo if needed yet out drag most cars on the road.
I would buy the rs7 with the exhaust package. Besides the tesla p85d and maybe the panamera, it's the fastest 4 door to 60 and I need all wheel drive with snow
Porsche Macan Turbo, I like the Panamera more but with the options it's too expensive. I love the Macan because it combines every great thing about cars I like in a tiny little package
Ok MotoMan, bear with me for a bit so I can give you full explanation. M6 Gran Coupe, RS7, S8, CLS 63 S 4matic AMG, Panamera GTS. All of these are below $120,000 base MSRP. The most beautiful (M6) has to go. Why? cause it's only RWD; and the ugliest (Panamera) regardless of how awesome it is goes too. Why? cause it's ugly The RS7 ans CLS for simple and logical reason, they're are not flagship-based models but they get honourable mentions. The only sports version of a flagship model among my favorites is the Audi S8 which is a FANTASTIC car in it's own right, beautiful, understated, elegant, amazing power, unrivaled quattro, great sound, perfect interior plus since 2011 it's been on the top ten lists of most reliable cars. So there the winner is Audi S8, fork over 120k so I can get to my Audi dealer asap. LOL
+Dodge Hemi (Challenger 392) Maserati? ever sat in one? O.K they look good and the performance is superb but the car is build with technology from a golf V. There are a lot of cheap plastic parts and on top of that the trunk is too small to fit in more than two travelling bags (Average). I was just yesterday was in Riyadh (Saudi-Arabia) a luxuary car show where i could compare both cars directly and i was expecting maserati being much better but it wasn't.
i would buy the new audi rs6 avant. it is the best of everything. the speed, the looks, the performance,,the utility, the rarity ,its ticks every single box i can come up with. its the best
Certainly an RS7. My daily driver is an A7, which is awesome. I test drove an RS7 a short while back, and it is that very same awesome, just with everything on 11. It's a perfect car.
With that kind of money I would probably go with the Audi S7. To me the RS7 is a little too much for everyday driving. The S7 is a great balance of civility and power. It's got all the luxury and and amazing looks like I love. The only other thing I would go with with be a Tesla Model S. It's powerful and really just innovative to all end. I don't know if the P85D is in that price range but that would be my weapon of choice. The acceleration is awesome but the technology is what blows my mind.
That is one awesome road M & that turn at 5:00 was epic ! Circa 2013, I think I'll pick a M6 Gran Coupe (competition package) in Singapore Grey, but I'd need a mythical 130k for that. Circa 2014/2015 for around 61k , I'll have the new ATS V sedan in Black ... Can't argue why yet (aside from being a Huge Cadillac Fan) but I can tell you why I'd pick it over the new C63, while I LOVE the new C's interior ... that COMMAND screen drives me nuts, I know why Mercedes is doing it, but I don't like the way they did it ... I prefer the Folding Screen like the one in the Audi A6/7/8 or even BMW's solution. of course, my decision might be changed if Ralph & Co shoved a Hellcat into the new 300 ;) #NotHoldingMyBreath Love that striped wood in the S7 ... a white S7 happened to be driving in front of me earlier today. I also got to see the new RC\RC-F for the first time today ... they are not as bad looking as they seem in pictures. I also saw the Face-Lifted CLS ... while cool & all, it doesn't have the elegance of the OG CLS ... especially the 55/63AMG. also saw a new RS6 & the Benz I showed you in twitter. Yep, The CTS V is a monster & as much I love it ... sitting in the new Gen Cadillacs made me hate its interior. Yep The CTS V wagon & E61 M5 Wagon (only 1025 made) gonna rise up in value, talk about a modern collectable. Say M, what do you think about AMG moving the "AMG Sport" from a cosmetic upgrade into a halfway between Regular Benz & a Full Blown AMG? sorta like Audi's S models & Cadillac's Vsport models ... word is the first one will be the AMG C450 Sport which they will reveal in Detroit. Looking forward to Season 5 ! 2015 gonna be epic. Happy Thanks Giving M ...
Saw the striped wood at the LA Auto Show in a tan brown kinda of thing and it looked MUCH better than the black . . . I talked about it on camera in this shoot but it ended on the cutting room floor. May put it on facebook . . .
Oh I I know that combination & I agree with you! Its much better. The black interior is best combined with the Black Aluminum with Silver inlays & a black Alcantra headliner.
IceDree BTW . .. going to *somewhat* answering your question about the middle of the road AMG sorta kinda thing next week . . . Thursday's episode . . .
for me hot rod says" point to point speed" and maybe more " sound" than other category's... I think amg is just that.. c..e whatever.. loud and brutal. I'd go de-badged chrome wheeled c63.
Damn I made a detailed answer with my choices but I lost the tread so here's the fast version. If i had to own any at this cars for 5-10 years, my choices will be as follow $60k M3/M4 the Icon,$80kish S7 the beautiful.$100Kish E63 AMGs -wagon the ultimate sleeper. $120kish S8- the fastest ubersedans. But if I had to own one car for the rest of my life 911 Gt3 hands down.
I'd buy the upcoming Tesla P85-D. Gestation period is done as a start up and performance will be in Super car realm if today. Ctsv coupe with manual if a couple years back
Another fabulous video in what is IMO, a sensational series! As for the What Would you Buy? A Maserati Granturismo S. Elegance. Power. Performance. For mine, a jaw dropping, sexy, sensual styling masterpiece. And then there's the Soundtrack. One continuous, distant crack of rolling Thunder. Not the fastest in class - but when something sounds and looks that good - would you really care? Not Me.
A bit above the mythical budget but I am a sucker for Maseratis . . . generally classic models. If I had a mythical US$1,000,000 budget, I would do a 61 3500 GT Spyder . . . Thank you for the VERY kind words . . . Will share it with the crew . . . Our pleasure.
+MotoManTV tested '06 Maserati coupe, the tranny was clunky & jerky slowing to stop light, reminds of 80's Italian slop autos but with paddles. $50k joke. New MC coupe looks serious
Another great review/story, and in a car from my all time favourite carmaker. But then I have very mixed emotions about anything with a slashed roofline, and no one ever manages to put real people in the back, to see how much comfort or distress thaey endure. With the S7 I'd never be seem dead in something that looks like a kitchen appliance, think fridge, flying down the road, and i guess I'm a bit old fashioned but I really dislike the farty noise any turbocharged V8 now makes. I know MB came up with the slashed roof look, then moronically called it a coupe. A coupe with 4 doors? D'oh! And BMW have completely lost the plot as the non-kings of the non-niche, hellbent on excessive profits, whereas the rest of the industry makes car from which they make a profit. It's interestiing the designers at Cadillac have not succumbed to a slashed roof version, still accutely aware if its got 4 doors and 4 seats you should be able to use them all.
Good video but you're mixing up classes. This competes with the 5-Series and E-Class. The C-Class competes with the S4. For $120K? RS7. The RS7 is the most practical and prettiest to me.$60-75K? M3/4. The M4 is the only one offering a DCT and it looks best IMO. The next RS4 would be my choice but it is not put yet.
Thanks for weighing in but must respectfully disagree . . . the question raised here is not about a class of car but rather the high horsepower subsegment of the ATS/3/C or CTS/5/E . . . the in house factory hot rod versions . . .
Oh, well that shows my attention skills. Cadillac is definitely the winner for most improved by a long shot. They haven't been class-leading or innovative since ~1966. In the $50K segment S3: quicker than the S4, , great options that aren't ridiculously priced, etc. The CLA45 is realistically in the $55-60K segment despite what they advertise. In the $60-70K the new ATS-V. Audi don't seem to offer much here. $120K: RS7. It is built for the autobahn, gorgeous, and looks different. Why people buy Cayennese when this exists, I don't know.
Joel D haha.. how does a Cayenne compete with an S7? And the RS7 is VERY overpriced in my opinion..well..when compared to the S7 at least. Tune the S7 engine and you have a way faster car than the stock RS7.
Although it is in no way a market competitor to the Cayenne, the RS7 is very practical. Many people buy Cayennes and use them in the role a sedan could fulfill. Agreed, a tuned S7 would be faster than a stock RS7, but the RS7 is more than a powerful S7 (and can be tuned to have like 650-700HP).
if i had $120k, i'd buy a scion frs/toyota gt86/subaru brz, and do a bunch of mods, then spend the rest on other living expenses. set it aside for mods. maybe get an el camino as well
420hp out of a turbo v8? Doesn't that seem a little low? The 2015 mustang gets 10 more horsepower with about the same torque and its naturally aspirated.
420hp is what Audi rates it at. Actual rear wheel hp with 91 octane is 488hp. I own a 2015 Audi S7 and have recently hit 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. I love this car!!!
I would buy 2008 mercedes-benz clk 63 amg black series.because it is the most beautiful car mercedes has built.out side the 1937 mercedes-benz 500k roadster.
What's with the fluttering sounds? Why do German automakers think that that sound is sport? Give me the sound of the American V8 or the Nissan V6 sound in the Z. Those deep sounds are the sound of what a sports car engine sound should sound like, not fluttering sputtering sounds..I do like this car but what is with this sound?
They have a rs7 for that sporty sound . Some people like quite unassuming fast cars . That's why there is a s7 . If I needed to get a family saloon that car is what I would get . It's not too shouty and still has a bit of power
If I had that money I wouldn't really go for those kind of cars I would go for a Z06 or Mercedes-AMG GT S. But If I had to I would go with one of those kinds of cars it would no doubt be the ATS V-Coupe the amount of power you get out of a 6 cylinder and the very aggressive Cadillac look would make most German and even English luxury/sport car look so bland and boring.
How does he manage to have such an interesting conversation... with himself? Brilliant!
420hp? I thought the facelift 2015+ was 450hp?
OK I have come to a conclusion Mr.Moto man, Brian Cooley and Steve Hammes are the only reviewers who are NOT biased AT ALL. Good video like always sir!!!
I would pick Tesla P85D if that is an option. Since I live in California, range is not an issue, and it is very nice to have that kind of performance with such low maintenance. Plus it looks awesome too
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! YOU DESERVE SO MANY MORE SUBSCRIBERS!!!
love from Russia :)keep the videos coming!!!
CLS 63 AMG because of the monstrous sounding V8 and amazing looks
cls amg63, its 4matic biturbo v8 with 520 horses. and its a coupe
I'd buy the Alpina because it has Xdrive as a result it has a 0-60 of just 3.7 seconds and will do almost 200mph
Hmm.... 120K and I need it Go-Fast Luxo. Call me crazy, but your video on the RC-F kinda sold me. There is something really special about that car. LOVE the Olds 442 reference . . . I am stealing that one from you . . . :)
MotoManTV Its only stealing if you admit you didn't think of it first! I'm not telling ;)
I'd get an Audi S8 bc it's amazing and has power and luxury everywhere you look.

Great vids! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words . . . our pleasure . . .
For $120,000 circa 2013, I'd go with an RS7 or a Panamera GTS. Both offer the best combination of "hot rod" and luxury/tech versus their competitors.
Also the gs f is a member of that Lexus line up same power as the rc f, though I hope the find a way to squeeze more power out of that engine, with the next generation of f cars. E63 AMG 4matic wagon - with the jump seats in the back - 7 seat go fast crazy wagon which can swallow a ton of cargo if needed yet out drag most cars on the road.
Kinda hard to ignore that one . . .
audi rs5 for sure!
Hello from 2019. bought a CPO 15 S7. (for a fraction) It is a very different car.
Chris good time or bad time?
omg I loved when you lost traction haha
I would buy the rs7 with the exhaust package. Besides the tesla p85d and maybe the panamera, it's the fastest 4 door to 60 and I need all wheel drive with snow
MotoMan, isn't the S7 supercharge; not turbocharged? Love the show
Thanks for the kind words . . . You are thinking the A7 . . . That's the Supercharged V6. The S7 has a twin turbo V8.
+CasaDeGomez S4, S5 still have SC, tune up to 420ft lb toke & still get good mpg
Why? cause it's ugly
The RS7 ans CLS for simple and logical reason, they're are not flagship-based models but they get honourable mentions. It's a perfect car.
How does this car do on the track though? It's to long to be considered a track car isn't it?
Sadly have not had the opportunity to drive this one on a track but other large cars I have have been a handful . . .
MotoManTV Ok, thanks for the opinion. Also, thanks for always responding too!
I'd get an E63 AMG wagon.

Audi defying the rules of GRAVITY :)
RS6 Avant. But we cant get that here :-(

MotoManTV i posted this before you finished the question. whoops
rs7 or m6 gran coupe
Hmm I notice Cadillacs v6 twin turbo is more powerful than this v8 turbo... oh maybe the twin makes the difference
Porsche Panamera either 4s or even better Turbo.

+JHatch65 was that stock?
I would buy 2008 mercedes-benz clk 63 amg black series.because it is the most beautiful car mercedes has built.out side the 1937 mercedes-benz 500k roadster.
I'd get a bmw alpina b6 gran coupe
it's Sunday morning, you should be at church

Titled was pretty clear "A discussion on factory go-fast hot rods"
I HATE the sound of the exhaust but armytrix has a fix for that.
2015 450 horsepower.
Mercades gl63
What's with the fluttering sounds? Why do German automakers think that that sound is sport? Give me the sound of the American V8 or the Nissan V6 sound in the Z. Those deep sounds are the sound of what a sports car engine sound should sound like, not fluttering sputtering sounds..I do like this car but what is with this sound?
They have a rs7 for that sporty sound . Some people like quite unassuming fast cars . That's why there is a s7 . If I needed to get a family saloon that car is what I would get . It's not too shouty and still has a bit of power
The interior looks like it comes from late 90's
Is it just me or is the exhaust note just terrible?! Sounds like like farting into a paper bag 😂 Definitely needs a better exhaust.
Too expensive
