What if everything went perfect for Italy? (Not fascist)
cool video. what if an Independent Mayan empire existed today?
what If the Iroqouis Confederacy survived till today as an Independent sovereign nation-state?
You know how in the “What if everything went PERFECT for *Insert Country*” he states that he wont make it “X Country annexes the world, the end” I kind of want him to make a version of that series detailing how a country could conquer the world
isn’t that literally what he does
that would be interesting... but also in what time to start
@@RelfGamer we would start when we need to start
What if Everything went HORRIBLE for the World?
Nazi Germany Attempts to Conquer the Entire World for Some Reason Idk (Nazi Germany was once of the few country with such a large ambition so i guess that would have to be the starting point for this kinda senario).
That's just a modern america with all their non-profit organisations
Idea: what if the western Roman Empire survived instead of the eastern Roman Empire
This is the best idea I've heard! I hope he sees this
There's a video about it on youtube by neatling if you're interested
This is great
great idea
That has already been done by Neastling
Idea: What if Italy unified during the Renaissance, successfully avoiding the carving of the peninsula by European powers and slowly building an unified state
As an Italian I think it could be really interesting to see how a unified Italian state would compete with the others European powers. My take is that they end up unified by either the Medici or Venice, in any case it would be a republic, as it was quite common and was the eventual evolution of the northern communal system.
Vatican state made it impossible.
@@Bordigoid we can either get the Magnifico's dream come true, or get them united by getting piece after piece to keep the balance of power in the franco-habsburg struggle
@@stylus_sheath I think they could get the pope's favor, either making him into some important role in this state or at least favoring his personality. We are really talking about a medieval kind state, not a modern unitary one, at least it would start as a confederation and it would be a great opportunity for the pope to shift italy away from the HRE definitely
What if Italy is unified via the princeps so acclaimed by Maccchiavelli (none other than Cesare Borgia) in the early to mid 16th century? Consequently providing thIs unified Italy with a foothold in Spain due to the obvious Borgia’s origins. This might provIde Italy some interesting opening into the strait of Gibraltar.
The best Scenario for Italy finding America is if Italy manages to unify then discover America
Problem being you can't really deal with the Papal State until after the Reformation, since before that all you're doing is giving more established powers an excuse to invade you.
Absolutely, but idk if that would even be realistic considering all the small states that are there at that time and nationalism not really existing yet
@@TroysMoviesGamingand I think another big factor is foreign interest, like Spain and Austria would likely not be willing to give up their Italien possessions without a fight
@@hanneswiggenhorn2023 Spain didn't exist.
As an Italian, hearing Medishi instead of Medici made me almost sick……But I have to say that you made a good video! Keep going with this amazing scenarios!

Suggestion what if both branches of the house of Habsburg survived (No wars of spanish and austrian succession)
But without the war of Spanish Succession they wouldn't survived on the throne as Charles II was so inbred he couldn't normally function much less marry and provide heirs *even female ones). Better scenario would be to allow Habsburgs to win War of Spanish Succession instead
Spain:LOOK WHAT YOU DID AUSTRIA
AUSTRIA:IT WAS YOUR FAULT SPAIN

This would be quite interesting for the Renaissance as the greater wealth from the lucrative Americas (especially those in modern Peru and Mexico) would help further the funding of things like art, statues and philosophy, which would help in the rise of universities and colleges on the mainland of Florence and the rest of the Italian peninsula.
Perhaps the Renaissance would carry on for atleast another century, leading to a resurgence in Italian identity as heirs of Classical Roman civilisation. Another thing to take into account would be the Papal states as that same wealth would enrich the Catholic Church further and empowering their already strong authority.
If we're going full alt history induced hysteria, we could make it prevent the Protestant Reformation due to the Catholic Church having money from the Americas instead of Indulgences (This is basically impossible, but cool)
hey great comment but as Italian I have unfortunatly bust this interesting scenario; I have to explain what Renaissance actually was at the time, it was surely a rediscovery of classic culture, but a lot of art stuff was financed by nobles families; but you might think why this happened. It was more of less like the space race in Cold War the "signorie" of center-north Italy were rival, at the time they were the economic power house of Europe, but no one of them was enough strong to unify Italy; so they began to build art masterpieces to flex theyre power; the more beautiful was the court the more important was the signoria Renascence would probably be more philosophy centrated and having signorie alleys each other would likely have turned out in less paintings and less monument/churches. The saved money would be spent in the "compagnia delle indie occidentali italiane"
ps sorry for my broken English
@@testascura.1874 Basically, instead of killing each other, the Italians simply waged war with art, leading to an explosion of innovation.
@@rey_nemaattori yes but unfortunately we also had normal wars this was a sort of "parallel way of War" that likely reduced wars instrad of totally avoiding them.
But yes to make It simple you are kinda right
@@testascura.1874 As an English speaking native from Britain, yours is decent and thanks for the added context.
Suggestion what if Italy unified during the renaissance?
To be real, Spain would be struggling to catch up since they have no idea where to go and no ports when they get there, while Italy would be already established.
It's entirely possible Spain ends up somewhere else in the Americas
That aside, it's kinda weird that the Italian Company didn't give way to Italian Unification
I'm wondering tho, if simple things like a tax on the Gibraltar strait for American goods couldn't just completely stop the advance of the Italien company
@@hanneswiggenhorn2023 How would would a diminished Spain enforce it and at what point would it be cheaper to just use the wealth the Italian Company accumulated to seize it or bribe the Pope into supporting them?
@@InfernosReaper enforcing it would be relatively easy I think because of how narrow it is. You can basically see every passing ship and if you wanted to maybe even fire on them

@@Noctem_pasa I mean, France unified in the Middle Ages, Spain in the Renaissance and Britain in the Barroque, putting those three toghether is as outlandish as grouping it with Germany. The only thing with them is that they unified in the same generation as the Italians did.
Another great video! I love the work, keep it up!
Honestly I'd love a what if everything went perfectly for the Netherlands video
Thank you for always asking the what if’s that I would never even think of.
I'm sad you didn't talk about Venice at all.
I know the chance of them caring, or participating, is slim (given how ludicrously wealthy trade with the Arab states made them) but the production capabilities of their Arsenal alone make them important for naval dominance.
If we're assuming an Italian trading company, investment from the Venetians and Genoans could give them some much needed naval power; they'd also have a, frankly, stupid amount of money to play with. Obviously, this is unlikely and a little unrealistic, but an pan-Italian mercantile empire is basically Renaissance on steroids, and is cool to think about (and I think in the spirit of the topic)
Great Video! Keep it up!
Good video! Very intresting!
another great video by possible history.
I love your content may you please consider a what if everything went perfect for the ottomans in the future? Thx
This could be very interesting
🦃
For some reason, I really wish you to do 2 scenarios in 1: What if Poland had a good navy, allowing them to develop very successful sea trade, and what if Christopher Columbus (born as Krzysztof Kolumb) was born in Krakow in 1451
I think you should do a what if the americas were a small archipelago in the middle of a giant pacific and Atlantic combined. How would history play out afterwards.
everything would change...literally...
Probably France and Ottomans dominating Europe
That would change so much about the water currents and weather that the nations and cultures wouldn't be recogniseable.
The climate would be so messed up we likely wouldn't have a humanity
Video suggestion: what if everything went perfect for Spain? I first thought of this for modern Spain but it could also apply to the post-columbian Spain.
What if Norway Discovered America (They did)
(Please do a what if everything went perfect for Norway scenrio)
They didn't do it, not because they didn't arrive, but because they didn't inform Europe and they forgot about it.
@@Cobijadetigre-ix8vt Well, there was also obviously people already living there. Didn't they discover it? I think Norway is more significant because they WERE the first Europeans there. Columbus marks the first time Europeans were in permanent contact with the Americas (besides Greenland).
@@quujj Hahaha, it's not important if it adds absolutely nothing to the story, We didn't even know that until a few years ago, it doesn't matter at all, and they aren't even the first Europeans, Native Americans already have traces in their DNA that there were Europeans millennia before who mixed

It's interesting to see how perfect things really went for Spain irl
Good video keep up
You havent Even watched the entire video my guy:O
Unsure on the possibility on this scenario, but what if the Kingdoms of Castile and Leon never united, thus never forming the foundation of what would become Spain?
That'd be pure chaos the border could be anywhere and could either not afect the rest of the world or change all colonialism ever. Literally all combinations have happened during the Reconquista, you'd just have a Spain and Portugal/Navarra/Aragon/Valencia, since more than two countries wouldn't be stable in Iberia and allways the bigger one would be called Spain (Hispania, España, Espanha or Espanya). The only meaningful diference is that in the specific case where Navarra stays strong Basque would be a pretty big language in Europe and probably in North America and the Caribbean (Somewhat like a "What if Wales unified Britain?" kind of scenario).

'what if everything went perfect for italy' would be a great video idea l think

12:25 "China of the Americas"
*_shows Indian coins_*
Video Idea:
What If everything went perfect for the axis?
I saw that months ago that you Had it as an upcomming Video
Italy would probably have large swathes over north Africa and coastal Balkan lands. Maybe the Mediterranean coast of the middle east
Germany would have much of Europe, the rest of Africa, and the European parts of Russia.
Japan would have the entirety of southeast Asia and much of Oceania. Depending on when the British surrender, also Australia.
They'd have the Siberian parts of Russia and much of the east and central Asia.
Britain has two possibilities, they continue the fight and get conquered, or they give up early. Maybe after the fall of France. If they give up early, their empire will largely stay intact. Africa and eventually India being no more.
The u.s has a few possibilities, the could fight, and if everything went perfect they'd lose, or they would sell the Philippines and continue selling oil to Japan. I think the Germans might leave the u.s and Americans alone due to its high German populations. Japan will probably see them as a trusted trading partner.
I don't think it's improbable that a far right president gets into office, and takes the very slow transition to a dictatorship. Conquering the Americas under the guise of, "spreading democracy and freedom"
Any Italian state that wanted to colonize outside of the Mediterranean would need either permission from the Iberians to get through the Strait of Gibraltar or a base around said straight, whether it be on the Iberian or African side. As in the video, the most realistic role for the Italians to play in the Americas would be to colonize the Caribbean and grow cash crops.

Even Crimean and Pontics would be pushing it too far but getting the ones in Lebanon or Egypt is outright impossible. It would be the equivalent of Germany conquering all the way to the Volga Germans in Russia in his what if everything went perfect gor Germany video. Aka too much of a pipedream.
@@simulacrumpilot2777 obv but it would be interesting. I would think in the best best case scenario the pontics would be viable. Dont forget the greeks of south italy to.
@@SamuelIlizarov I mean it would be interesting but even in this video by PH's admission we were pushing the limits of realism. Your idea is even more difficult than that. As for Pontics the best they can hope for is getting absorbed by a big Armenia really. They are too far away from mainland Greece and not strong enough to stand on their own.
As for Greeks of Italy, I don't know enough about them to make a comment.
No comments about the Spanish conquering North Africa instead?
They were going to go somewhere, so why not have them already committed to North Africa?
This would prevent them from committing to the New World early on, but still channel the energy into somewhere realistic.
