Loved the video, I just would liked more explanation around using the multimeter, where you sourced the rectifier from and terminals to test for us less familiar
Tip over sensor between battery and coolant bottle also throws bike into Fi mode. Mine was corroded. This sensor is prone to water if bike left outside. Fixed mine, bike now fine.....for now GT650R 2012
I have a related problem with a GV650 efi, when you turn ignition on you hear a whirring (solenoids I think) at that point I know the bike will start, however over 50% of the time noe whirring at this point I know it won't start, turns over but not start, seems a safety problem, hence have replaced side stand switch, done bypass on clutch switch, replace starter solenoid, tos sensor, but still persists, any ideas would be welcomed, not used it for 5yrs for fear of happening when I'm out, odd time it works, starts instantly and I warm it up all good. Grrr...
Good video. I just bought a cheap R/R myself but it get super hot. It's charging ok the voltage from the magneto is about 60 volts at 5000 rpm ( recommend 70V in manual). But so hot after 5 minutes you can't touch it. How hot does the R/R get on your bike thanks
HI mark . mate never noticed if mine gets hot . I would be concerned it is getting that hot that the reg is just going to fail. I got the alleged exact replacement part of eBay . have had no real issue with it. am going for a ride today or tomorrow will let you now . thanks for watching and the question
Thanks Shane. I let the supplier know as comparing to the OME part it is smaller with thinner fins and almost 30% lighter less metal less heat dissipation. Also about 25% of the price,
Yes, when all is connected and i measure from the black and red comming from the rectifier then I get 1.3v, i ordered new parts, still waiting for them.
hey guys ...i hav a hyosung gt 650..it fails to crank with the spark plugs on.and the positive terminal gets really hot..i also burnt the previous battery terminal..however wen i removed the spark plugs out..the engine did crank..my battery is good and so is the solenoid n wiring..could u pls help
it was meant to be oem but I had to use the old plug. as far as using it on the 2013 as long as the wiring is the same I wouldn't think it would be a problem

Thanks for the video. I will buy a multimeter. Not sure if problem is battery or charging on my GT650S. Great to have a place to start

Great vid. Unfortunately, I can´t see how you did the wiring with the new Rectifier.
sorry tom , simply backed out the terminals out of the original plug and was able to clit the new 1 back in
Hi, steel not good, Hyosung is specifying 13.5 V-15V at 5k rpm in their book.
13.30 v is good for charging please tell I have seen in other videos it gose to 14v
Hey mate So battery starts my bike all good and well but it goes flat after a few hours or so...Do you have any idea what’s going on there??

mate what state are you in also what reg rectifier did you buy and what mods did you make.
does this problem include cutting out whilst riding?
I'm in QLD .. was supposed to be genuine Korea no it wasn't cutting out but getting flatter and flatter , I like to use my high beam a lot
My rectifier gives out 1.3 v when motor is on. Tested like you did, and set my multimeter to 2000k ohm range, got around 600 on all.
r u saying that your charging sys is only putting out 1.3v

I cant see any shit also will it fit with my 2009 GT250 ?

But, why did the reg/rec go faulty?
Diodes fail
are there any other models i can use ie suzuki ones
not to shure about that . providing it has a similar wire set up dont see y not
Where the link at????
Is this regulator an aftermarket one, and does it work with a gt650r efi from 2013 :) great video
