Been debating to get Citi AA Executive $600 card, the only issue I have is the card partners lounges access internationally specifically JAL lounges in HND and NRT. No guest or AUs can access it beside the primary card holder so can't really justify the $600 AF "yet". Admiral club is ok with immediate family members or 2 guest for free but Sakura Lounges cannot.
@@theinternationalist1357 yes I've heard that too! I think Washington DC, Newark, and Denver were first and are supposed to be pretty nice, right? It's long overdue :)
Thanks Mel. I picked up some new info. I didn't know I can stack 3!!! That is so awesome! From CC and simply miles and the shopping portal! Just found out I didn't use any on my past purchase. (sometimes I just forget to use the right card or check in with these portals) $300 purchase and could have stacked and got about x12 per dollar spent. UGH!!! Thats 3600 AA miles I missed out on. But not anymore!! :)
So glad you learned something! Yes it’s really nice when it works out and you can stack all three! Don’t worry too much about forgetting last time - we’ve all done that at some point. But I understand how frustrating it can be 😅
No they are not the same. Loyalty points are used to determine your AA status, while miles are used to book award flights. Things like credit card spend provide both, but other things (like a sign-up bonuses) only count as miles. Hope this helps!
Is American Airlines still partnering with Rocket Miles? I just checked RM's website & noticed that American Airlines is not included in the programs to screen for.
I think the American and Rocketmiles parted company earlier this year (after I made the video) 😭 From what I know, though, you can book hotels through AAdvantageHotels and earn points.
Quick question regarding the AA shopping portal. I've gotten conflicting information regarding this. Let's say PetSmart were offering 3 miles per dollar spent. Does that mean that it will also be 3 loyalty points per dollar spent? Or are loyalty points still 1:1 in this scenario? Thank you!
Why is it so hard to get straight answers? For instance (while I think I know the answer), can I purchase loyalty points with miles? I earn a ton of miles, but not points.
I earned 30k miles in 3 months, but only 1600 points. I book flights through my employer - though I can input my Advantage membership in the booking to earn miles - my employer does not book through AA so I don’t get points.
@@seanpatterson3576 You cannot purchase loyalty points with miles or cash...Period. It doesn't matter where you fly or how many miles you fly.... American loyalty points (with respect to flying) are based how much money you spent on the base fare of the ticket of the class of service in which you were booked. The AA CEO recently got fired and many changes have been since rescinded so you should be good to go with your employer booking your travels. Hope this helps.
You explain everything very clearly. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Yes, that's a definite con. Plus honestly, for the most part, the AA Admirals Clubs aren't great 😏
@@MelsMilesandPoints heard they are updating all their clubs, right?

@@MelsMilesandPoints I totally agree. But boy some of the flagship lounge such as one in JFK, Chelsea lounge, is superb.
I’ll have to try to check it out sometime! 😁
Thank you for the insight! Would you please show us the sweet spots you have found booking with American Airlines miles?
Glad to help! And thanks for the suggestion!

Are loyalty points and miles the same thing? Thanks for her video

@@MelsMilesandPoints so if i use my card and spend 10k on groceries for example, does that get me loyalty points?
@@meirbirdman3482 yes, it counts as both miles and Loyalty Points. :)

Sadly, I believe American Airlines recently transitioned away from Rocket Miles, but the AAdvantage Hotels platform should still work! :)
Why isn’t American Airlines Loyalty point on the rocket site?

Yes, you would indeed get 3 Loyalty points per dollar spent. If it were 10x, you’d get 10 Loyalty points per dollar sent. Hope this helps! 😄
Yep but be careful because any “bonus” miles offered on top of “base” miles do not include LPs
🎉🎉🎉
For SimplyMiles account, can I attach multiple MasterCard or just one MasterCard?
You can attach multiple Mastercards! 😁

No, but most miles earned also count as loyalty points, so if you earn a ton of miles, you should also be earning a ton of loyalty points 😁

Worst company ever
Even if you hate AA, their site can be useful for booking flights on partner airlines 😄
