Can Indian roads pass the coconut test? Bisbo
Вставка

- When a coconut breaking ceremony for a newly constructed road broke the road instead, it seemed like a good idea to explore the one thing everyone seems to take for granted, access to roads, and good quality ones at that.

Every 5 years, a concrete road is laid in our locality, just before elections. But, the problem is, the road level keeps rising and rising. Atlast, it became more high than my gate level. And, if rainfall happens, all the rainwater would rush into our house because our house is below the road level. Frustrated, we broke the house completely, constructed a new one on a base platform that's almost 4.5 feet high. My father know, even that would be crossed in few years. It's just heartbreaking to see development causing hardships to people. It should actually bring relief. Whenever roads are laid, people would be literally requesting to keep the height low. The authorities should first dig out the required depth and then lay road on it so that the level remains the same. But, if they keep laying layer upon layer, it literally destroys families and their homes. Last time I checked, it's the case in almost all the villages around my locality. Shame on them!
Very important point Adithya
Dude its the same case in Hyderabad city and i think all over India too
Im an NRI living in Dubai and whenever i visit india i see that the houses appear to be sinking but its instead the road rising.
It's not only in villages but also in important cities. My city berhampore connects North Bengal and South Bengal and water clogging is a common problem here
Its same case in whole india. But in kerala a guy tried to dig out existing road and build road using malaysian technology... But gov didnt gave him money and he had to suicide😐.. 🥲
Yeah and in Bangalore, they decide to do ultra thick white topping that raises the road height massively. You can literally see the gap between the gate and the road there
I remember a story about a singapore contract in Kerala he built a road that didn't have no problem for 16 years in ottapalam kerala the hight court said that it is the best road in kerala
I have traveled on Japan funded roads in the interior of Bihar and they were as smooth as a child’s cheek! (Buddhist pilgrimage connectors)
And the contractor killed himself bcoz government wont approve the fund
@@sreeragcs3931Ya,best road in kerala.
Yeah, that road still doesn't have a pothole till this day.
Is it the ottapalam near palakkad
I remember seeing a story from Japan where a train route was continued only because of 1 passenger. That 1 passenger was a teenager who boarded the train every to reach school. So the govt decided to extend the scrapping of the route till the kid completed the education.
This is a very large country for something like that to happen, but that we don't even try is just heartbreaking.
Wow, amazing
It's the government which don't like to try actually
India suffered a bad governance throughout, methinks.
@@BisboWorld you can cover that story too biddy
Yes this is true
It's not "computer auditor general" bro. It's called the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Yeah, even I was astonished
@@yogesh_sahadevan And he mispronounced Hazaribag as well.
@@mridulrabha but he is generous enough to accept his mistake and apologize, which I was impressed towards. Anyway hope he would take this into notice and correct it.
If the comptroller and auditor general, mostly a constitutional body with bureaucrats appointed by the legislature found such discrepancies; imagine what an automated computer auditor general would have found! may be we need a computer auditor general afterall 🤷🏻
@@yogesh_sahadevan its not a constitutional body. It's a singular person appointed by the President of India under Ar. 148. His role to is to audit all expenses and receipts of the Central government. Current CAG is Mr. Girish Chandra Murmu, IAS. He was the former Lt. Gov of Jammu and Kashmir. And the CAG does use a whole lot of computers to analyse and scrutinize expense reports and conduct audits.
The explanation given in this channel of a news is best even than a newspaper like Times of India . Thank you Bisbo 😊👌👍👍
Oh wow, thanks
Agree, Bisbo provides good explanation.
I see adversiments more than news in ToI, hence stopped it long back!!
It shouldn't come as a surprise since bisbo has been proving itself for quite some time while TOI has been trolled by Hindu in the context of Hrithik Roshan's pet name 'Duggu' for a long time
In china, I've heard it somewhere, that the government punishes the contractors if it finds any kind of flwas in road or bridge making process. Such level of strictness is much required in india.
Here in India we are busy fighting over religion.
Lol no Chinese roads are just as worse than our ones only difference is scale which is also larger in China due to even more rampant corruption than ours dont fall forropaganda
China can kill at spot but India can't .. to much democracy, can't take strict actions ton of loop holes if you have money
@@manojs6647 haha so you think that doesn’t happen in China lol you dumb China is even more corrupt and doesn’t have a proper judiciary you can get away with anything in china
@@com-ev5wq where do they use vehicles then? Inside your empty skull
It was Hilarious...
First Time i Watched that Video...
The Reaction on MLA's Face
*PRICELESS* 😂😂
Lol, glad you liked it! We thought it was hilarious!
Its the same case in Andhra Pradesh too.... Single Road Highway connecting from Tirupati (Rural/Renigunta) to Naidupeta has severely damaged due to 2020/21 rains back to back... There's literally no road is left its just pot holes everywhere... I made my mind, no roads, no vote!
Well bro, you should see the roads in the rural Bhimavaram. It's a proven theory that most of the cast votes are by people that are unaware of their democratic rights and responsibilities, mostly underprivileged. Majority of the people that don't excercise their right to vote are well to do, highly educated, or those above the creamy layer who consider voting is beneath them and don't want to spend their precious time standing in a queue to vote.
Your vote maynot make much of a difference, but if isn't utilised at all, it's just a lost cause and you'd be laying your weapon down even before the battle begun
Earlier roads are bad in rural areas in AP... But now even state highways urban roads are worse.urban roads are filled with patches every few months and they disappear by 2-3 months or just by a good rain... Sad state governance 🙏
Very good bisbo, it's an issue often discussed among people but never ever any importance is given to this vital issue. Your video can act as a voice raised against this scenario
Yes, we hope, but now roads are being taken seriously by authorities at central and state levels
They should have called the people responsible for the broken road and broken the coconut on their heads. Corrupt and shameless people will never be punished seriously I guess.
🤣🤣
All hail anarchy 🖖
In Nagaland we have few pieces of roads over potholes 😂😂
Lol
Few pieces of roads that becomes invisible during summer😂
There is a 47 km state Highway in Palakkad district of Kerala connecting Palakkad & Kulappulli which constructed around 2005. Despite Palakkad's extreme climate (annual rainfall 2300mm, Summer temperature may reach up to 41°c) this road doesn't require any maintenance till today. The work was done by a Malaysian company. And did you know what happened to that contractor. His bill payment got delayed and at last he committed suicide.
The end result is sad to hear but he proved construction can be of good quality
Even in my town (Ambarnath), Technically in Mumbai M.A. and in Thane district, We did not have any concrete roads before 2 years so there were no cyclists, only rickshaw walas and vehicles. Now within two years 80% of roads are concrete, more and more students like me and adults are cycling for better health, transportation and Environment!
No road contract is given without local MLA nod. From panchayat members to local MLA and exec engineers contractors have to pay cuts, and upon that have to complete the project, make money and pay off loans to bank.. Corruption is the main evil...most of local contractors are money minded also... good video.
Ppl with right intentions can't get to power in panchayat also easily , so honest PPL never go to elections bcz PPL Don't value it ..
*In my town of Ambarnath in Mumbai M.A., we used to say, it felt as if "We are the Apollo Astranauts and the roads are the craters of the Moon." It was horrible!*
Fortunately 80% of our Roads are Concrete roads. It was changed in the last two to three years...😤
The research and discourse that this channel would have done for this AV is......hands-down the best ever.
Tq Bisbo
Thanks Atul
I live in Bijnor and am aware of the complete incident. When the MLA was protesting, the contractor didn’t say much but the Irrigation department officers were seen begging and defending the contractor and wanted the matter to die down. It was very clear that these officers were involved in some kind of kickback.
Aftermaths of the incident:
1. MLA registered her protest but to no conclusion
2. DM sent a team to take the samples to satisfy the outcry, but to no avail
3. Innocent villager stands in a corner saying “Sab chor hai “
4. We all laughed at our misery
Extremely important point of concern for our country covered well by you 🙌
Yes, thanks Gaurav
When private contractors, sarkari engineers and greedy politicians work together that’s how roads and bridges will be
Can’t thank more to the people behind such great work !
Welcome Krishna
Seriously.. You are good.. Keep it up
In India these corrupt people and system is much bigger problem as compared to terrorism. India has a great history where our people only stab us in our back like it happened in case of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chattrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Ex.P.M. Indira Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Rani Lakshmibai and the list goes on.
There people are Modern generation White Collar terrorist's.
Mr.Bisbo....the job that you are doing by throwing light on such serious topic's is priceless. I belive this video would light fire in some kid's heart to bring the change in this system.
Thank you Prasanna ji. We hope that your words come true
I have been watching Bisbo's stories for about a week now. I am a Nigerian and I must say the contents are so rich that I can only imagine the hours of research put into all the stories.
This channel has also afforded me the opportunity to understand another world of India and a macrocosym of my country. From arts, economy, technology, culture, military to politics and corruption; I see Nigeria as a mini-India through all these stories.
Thumbs 👍 up for the producers and particularly the narrator. You have surely gained a fan in me.
And not to forget the Limericks😂
CAG : Comptroller and Auditor General of India @2.50 I heard 'computer'
I was searching for the same, else would have commented.
I still remember that news :- the money is allotted for road in rural village and after some time when official asked that politician then he replied " Road chori ho gya h"😂😂.
Sad
Bisbo,
we get govt has been putting a challenging goals and attempting to do them, but their are forces that do hamper growth in name of environmental concerns.
slowly but surely things are coming on track.
Agreed Mihir
Liked before watching. Good content.

Your vedioes are to the point and highly Educative..
Great topic which is close to heart plzzz make video what we can do inorder to reduce corruption...
Bisbo I loved this video. It was informative as well as funny at some point! I do feel this video will give you good returns ❣️✌🏻
Thanks. Actually the topic is very dry and we tried to make it interesting.
@@BisboWorld and you surely succeeded in making it interesting!
India should focus on redeveloping existing roads, not build new expressways in a time of climate crisis! Good job Bisbo highlighting this! 🙏🏾
Please compare road density of India to developing countries before making these comments. Lack of infrastructure especially transportation is one of the biggest hurdles o India's development. By the way, our per capita carbon footprint is miniscule compared to western countries. That is why we have to balance sustainable energy sources and development together, not go back to stone age.
Brother i was in mumbai for month or two , and I have noticed a lot of white powder bags ( bori ) , just trown on bridges , on the edge of the pavement and the bags were torn open maybe by vehicles going over them , whatever the reason , the white powder was everywhere , everyone was breathing it , was going into the eyes of the commuters , it was mad ,
no one was talking about it , up until I saw your video , So glad you talked about this
Extremely informative.
Waiting 5days for new video to come up seems 5 years ... ❤️❤️Bisbo
We will give a few bonus videos soon
Yay, new video, I loved it
Thanks Joshi
This is a really nice video with good amount of research. I just put ahead a pragmatic thought (irrelated from the road problem). The thought is: a concrete road is not a good candidate to break a coconut. It has surface rigidity is not like a stone, and it is some level of elasticity and friction suited to rubber tires of vehicles not to breaking coconut. A coconut would much easily broken on a small stone, rather than "a freshly made" concrete road.
Very very informative video
Keep them coming @Bisbo
Danke
Another gem of a video Bisbo, keep up the great work! Humble request but would love if you could do a video sometime on the life and times of the honorable and great A P J Kalam. Regardless of caste/creed / religion I think we can all agree that he was a gem of a person and a role model we can all look upto....especially in these polarizing times! Surprisingly not a lot of decent English bio's out there about him (for international exposure 🙂), and you are the best person to sort out this travesty!!
back to back bisbo. proud moment for maduraites. Glad you mentioned him.
great piece of work ,bisbo
Thanks Naveen

Finally someone spoke about this !! I’m glad
Welcome Abhinav
A stand-off with China is atleast improving our road infrastructure in Kashmir and North Eastern states.
I from arunachal pradesh.. Love to watch your video appreciated👏
Thanks for watching Gospel
Good that you guys brought this topic up.
It’s only during elections the politicians try to eye wash the people by constructing roads,
Or some time just patch work.
That’s worse as the roads become uneven.
The vehicles get severely damaged by the poor quality roads
Yes that’s another aspect that is a fallout as are man-hours and productivity lost
Very very nice bro....Hamare yaha itne khadde hai ki....pure city me 1 km ka road Bina khadde ka nahi hai
Always loving your animated news ✨
Thanks Varshini
Post bisbo limerick as separate short video in UA-cam and Instagram as reels. It will improve reach. More power to you guys.
Yes. I think that’s a great idea. We should start doing that

Mumbai's situation is due to BMC and politicians nexus, they pass tender of 4 to 10 times the actual cost and then do we don't have good roads, bcoz? Bcoz , from the actual cost too the politicians extort money from the contractors. Which in the end leads to contractors making bad quality roads....
M from Uttarakhand and I was so angry whn thy Stopped Bullet train project. Wasting Japanese aid and Technology just for Political gain.
Cleanliness and roads(rural and city) is where India needs to improve a lot. In China no matter where you go most rural, municipal and city limits have underground drainage system, super quality roads and most importantly cleanliness.
mam,i didn't expect this one to be that much engrossing but what a story, kudos, bisbo plsss make some political one also
Annaaaa Radcalaaaa. Thank you
next to my house a few months ago was a totally bad road which had pothholes and was very rugged not a whole lot of cars used this route despite it being an connection beetween ecr and omr but the same roads got tared in December and now so many vehicles can be seen using it and business is more better for the people there and roads are smoother this shows how important roads are if India is to be considered a world class country we must build roads first
not just politicians every govt officers must work for india and keep the corruption aside
so be indian citizens
Thank you bisbo
woow great sir
Thanks
Bisbo again thanks for 12 min 🙂
My pleasure 😊 Abhishek, but we want to keep it under 10 if possible
One of the comments were of a train route in Japan continued for one child, I found it very expensive for the Japanese govt, usually very practical race.
It would have been cheaper to relocate the child.
Indian speaks again.
Yes for sure!
Our areas now use blocks instead of pitched roads
and they dont break much like pitched roads
From my home to station we had only potholes and stones poking out of ground on the name of road. They made a brand new road for upcoming municipality election
thanks for the language ..it's useful for ⬇️ India❤️
Make a video on hyderabad city road development programme callled as SRDP ( Strategic road development programme).

The problem can be summarised in 3 words : corruption, corruption, corruption.
bro you are very under rated youtuber
Yes Thanks

:2.52 did you say computer auditor general for comptroller auditor general?
Now roads situations are such that...
Coconuts pass the Road Test 😃
This is really a good topic to debate and raise a political agenda
we love bisbo keep doing
Thanks Ramesh
nice video bisbo.
Thanks Adarsh
In Andhra Pradesh there are no new roads after 2019 even damaged roads were not been repaired since 2 years
Happy Lohri wishes Bisbo. Everything in your video mentioned is still an unsolved problem many rural and urban areas face lack of quality roads, some roads are constructed one month before elections that roadsalso doesn't stand a week, plastic roads is a good choice tender system through online, online tracking can avoid corruption. Only one error in your video CAG(Comptroller and Audit General)
Thanks Abhishek and error noted. Happy Lohri to you and all Bisbo family
I lives in Uttarakhand and roads here dameges every year. But I seen Delhi-Gurgaon roads in more bad condition thn UK.
Please do video about history and running of successful Hollywood films especially how Hollywood movies achieved huge success in india
In jamshedpur we have got the best roads all thanks to tata steel and the roads are very much clean. And everyday the litter and dust is cleared by the machine shown in the video. Now all the roads are constructed with plastic and yes it has a better look and duriablity.
Love the videos
Thanks Vineet
Nice video bisbo
Thanks Vivek
BMC has been looting the citizens of Mumbai. Every year the road ahead of my building gets repaired before rains and later when potholes are created no one is there to repair.
Good job bisbo
Thanks Carl
Even in Malaysia, many roads are full of potholes within the city. Shoody works everywhere.
Sad to know
brilliant
You should come to Rajasthan once and see our roads
Bisbo, subject being roads and potholes, I'm shocked to see that Bangalore is not mentioned at all.
Lol
Haven’t been to Bangalore in a while!
Yo bisbo bro do you own a KTM 390 adventure.
11:00 how will the water percolate in the roads made of plastic
Water is not meant to percolate inside roads. That’s the reason for potholes
Seems Corruption is still in blood of our so called "social leaders"🥴😅
Btw loved your video 😄😍
Contractor "SACHIN TICHKULE" 🤣🤣
we need a road index , it should include , how many times the road is laid in one/three/five years
Good idea
We dont want Chinese tofu dreg projects copied here in india. Just make strict rules to follow during construction and punish individuals responsible not the company as they just dont work. And strict action for repeated offences that affect national interests repeatedly.
Well done bisbo
Thanks Sagar
Hey bisboo growww growww more
We will Milind surely!
*all credit goes to past 60 yrs governments. They made so many roads that today there is no need to make roads* 🙏🙏
