Magnifico.💗💗💗💗💗💗
What this Brit dealer dude needs more than music is a gym and sunlight, lol. Keep up the good work Jay.
more of these very interesting double the length would be good x cheers from the freezing uk
There was no way I could watch that video. For a man who prides himself on his ability to select and put together the highest quality system, the audio reproduction on that video was unacceptably appalling! Shame, because it was a potentially interesting video.
Could have been so interesting, but ironically for video about high end audio, the audio quality itself was dreadful.
Exactly what I thought, a beautiful echo chamber 🙈
Next time please use external BT mic's.
Simply an amazing and eye opening experience. Well done and this video and lessons will serve all. Amazing dealer with a customer first mindset.
Hello regarding digital not sounding like analog, ever heard about the new Mark Levinson's amp Daniel Hertz Maria?
It sure sounds better than any of my past analog setups
GREAT VIDEO. Hope you enjoy my country 🏴 and have a GREAT HOLIDAY 👍🏽
Happy holidays!
Guys you're working too hard to try to sell vinyl! After years of the vinyl hobby and spending countless hours at local audio showrooms, I have come to the conclusion that most of the time digital is better, especially for classical music on SACD. I've never looked back selling off the LP stuff a couple years ago and making good money on my Roksan TT.
Good for you
RCM! I once sold there Bonasus tube amp and the Phonostages when i had my audioshop in the Netherlands. Very nice brand from Poland.
I was about to say Jay would be a fish out of water in London, but then I realized that all audiophiles are equally weird so everything just clicks.
Huh
@@stevenburdick424 Wut?
What a nice and interesting guy. Great video Jay.
Loved meeting the dealer - he seems very knowledgeable and not hard sales! You should do more videos like this.
Jay, cool video. I would (have) love(d) to hear also about their main room's acoustic treatment system, which is renowned for its special design and the result talks for itself...
Great coverage Jay! Brings back memories. My wife let me have 30 minutes touring the store when we visited last July, lol. The sales associates were super friendly, letting me listen to music. I asked the guys what brand 'spoke" to them and they loved McIntosh.(??)
I love my hybrid Mcintosh MA352.
"Let you..." You're a fully grown ass man, dog!
I would be more shocked if it was fosi
Jay, you lucky dude. I haven't been to London for a very long time.
I expect this store doesn't just sell to UK. I expect Dubai for one. Unlike most dealers, they probably don't display prices. Talking and showing $$ is considered obscene.
All the best from Western Australia.
Thanks chuck
Too much hubris here. Jay cops out. No discussion of alternatives including DSD. It’s one guy’s view. Mikey has a stronger resilience of attitudes and experiences.
With all due respect and nothing personal.....one can advocate Wilson Audio till they turn green... and still don't like them only a few RE viewers, whom all are biased based on advertisers they work for. I have been a huge, and serious audiophile for 40+ years.
A great reminder of what the HiFi value proposition used to be! I don't doubt that this gentleman's customers are well served. It's just a little sad that this kind of service is only economically viable when selling the highest of high-end systems and equipment. (No judgement should be inferred here; it's just the way the market has been driven as attitudes to recorded music have changed.)
Great video Jay! I visites KJ West One last year and was in the same room as well and I listened to the Grand Utopia’s. Absolutely beautiful. Jason is very kind and a great dealer.
If you think the prices of the equipment is high in this video you should checkout
the prices for renting property in that area. I know a chap who has 2 properties
about 1 minute away from that store and the 3 bedroom house 11 years ago he
was renting it out and it was going out for £2700 a week, yes a week.
Terrible audio
You should have used God Save the Queen by The Sex Pistols as the music. It reflects how many of us Brits feel about the country. Well at least the ones who care about it.
1 year max. You will be broke..like all.of us. Max! Wish youna well here on the channel..
If you are an audiophile then could you atleast make sure your microphone doesnt clip??
Glad you enjoyed it. Please come back soon
Thanks
Wow u get around dude, but we ain’t all rich royals lol
lol 😂
Enjoyed the video. Thanks guys.
Welcome to the uk 😁, been in kj West one a few years ago 😁 hope you enjoy your time, don't know how long your here for but give Trevor at Guilford audio a bell and see if you can have a visit 😁 anyway have fun 😁
Thanks! 😃
Very nice video. Would audio research reference 160m mk2 + ref 6 se be recommended with Wilson audio Alexia V ? In US, both brands are usually paired with dCS sources and shunyata or transparent cables.
Yup, The Speaker Shop in Buffalo, NY has Magico and Wilson. Awesome dealer- you should visit them someday Jay. I’ve been to that shop a hundred times. Great people.
One possible advantage of a vinyl release of a digitally master session, that seem to make it better than the digital release, might be filtering. One of the most expensive and complicated parts of a DAC is the output filtering. Transcoding through vinyl forces compliance to the analog world. The individual samples are forced into a physically continuous signal. In a way no electronic filter can.
Ok
Wow , Bro, well said. 👍🏽🙏🏽💕
He's RIGHT! Digital, especially computers, dump tons of dirt onto your sound if they are running as the analog will pick it up like an antenna!
He is 100 percent right.I have both vinyl,cd,sacd. The best against the best, analog rules.
If I were a dealer, I would definitely sell analog gear... It's the greatest source of never ending upgrades and tweeks which translate into fantastic revenue stream. Interesting that speakers in the super high price category are those with detailed ("sharp") tweeters such as Focal, Magico and Wilson. Are they are matched with analog to compensate the overly "warmth" of analog? In my opinion, it's a question of good equipment matching and quality recordings. In the end, it should be all about the appreciation of music, not the sound itself...
I bought a pair of Magneplanars from KJ from there old store in Wigmore street and also a Sonus Faber centre 15 years ago. Great shop, I always remember fist hearing a pair of Apogee's driven by Krell at KJ's wonderful
Great video
But also a missed opportunity
I wanted to see/ hear more about the store itself and all the speakers and gear in it, and less about that guy's opinion on vinyl vs Digital
Yes, the Speaker Shop in Buffalo, NY, has Magico and Wilson Audio. I had a great time listening to their incredible systems.
When I’m listening to vinyl I always turn off all digital pieces. Just makes sense.
7 X 45 rpm of Quadrophenia ? That's hilarious ! Great video !
Jay, love your channel. I've been following you for about a year and a half, i got really interested in hifi from hearing a McIntosh sytem in the late 70's. Did not realize how far audio had advanced till i started watching your reviews. Great job bringing that world to us who are not able to hear that level of gear. Ive been checking out some of the music that you have been listening to such as Malia and Boris and i love it. Please let me suggest that you check out the new Ozric Tentacles release "Lotus Unfolding" on your home system. Its probably not like anything you have ever heard. It would sound fabulous on your system! Please check it out and thanks so much!
Thanks man
Just checked your recommendation out and will be purchasing - thanks for sharing!
Hey Martin, thanks for the reply. I really like sharing some of the great music that I have found over the years. If you like cutting edge prog, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
The Speaker Shop, Buffalo NY. I have been there. They sell Sonus Faber and Focal also.
I might stare into that window wistfully next week lol...
Yep, i think so too. Transistors are SUPER contaminating.
First guy I’ve ever seen that makes Jay look small 😮
Nice 😂 Wonderful store showroom visits!
I met the Australian creator of Dohmann at a Hifi show in UK
Thank you Jay for visiting. Glad you enjoyed seeing what we have to offer! Fantastic video.
Thanks again!
I live in Buffalo, and there is a store (the Speaker Shop) that has both Wilson and Magico. I've visited many times and bought speaker cables from them. Let me know if you're ever in town!
Cool
Great video Jay. Enjoy your trip!
The comments on unplugging your digital off the main when playing vinyl to get VINYL to sound better is EXACTLY why I invented, developed and built The Absolute Finest power circuits that exists at ANY PRICE. IT SHOWS HOW TRUE AND RIDICULOUS IT IS THAT PEOPLE WITH THIS LEVEL OF GEAR WOULD HAVE TO UNPLUG ANYTHING TO GET THE FINEST SOUND POSDIBLE OUT OF THERE SYSTEM AT ANY TIME. AND EVEN UNPLUGGED IT IS BETTER BUT STILL RIDICULOUSLY FAR FROM OPTIMAL
I understand your point
@@jaysaudiolab I Hope You are having a great time in London 👍
Fantastic City. 👍🏽🙏🏽💕💕
Search for a brand called PMC. 😃
That was great. Jay is the only guy in America, and maybe the world, going to such great lengths to SHARE his passion for the ULTRA high end listening experience. Thin gentleman echoed everything Jay has said countless times. He validated Jay’s views on analog vs digital, but from a different perspective, discussing the sales ratios to high end clients. Bravo!!!!
THIS gentleman. Not thin. 😂
Thanks Brent !
Welcome to Europe!
Does he sell DACs amps, and Kronos turntables?
I don’t think he sells Kronos
Interesting. This guy has it all...and the records too.
Yep
Great video, interesting stuff. Dealer seems great.
They are!
Must be a pleasure for him to go to work every day.
Probably
Is this London in the UK, Great Britain or England?
Maybe he is referring to the one in Ontario, Canada ?!
Kj westone, London UK
London Duh….. digital is 90% of the market…
Great video Jay, it's good to see you on our side of the pond. Have a great time here in the UK
Welcome to London Jay. I was about a half a mile away from you today. Not sure how much time you have here, but you should check out HiFi Lounge in Bedfordshire. It’s about 1 hours drive north of London in beautiful countryside. It’s also a proper high end store.
Always striving to keep it interesting, nice work!
Always!
Jay, welcome to UK and I know that shop in London
Thank you
Great work jay nice to see thanks for sharing with us 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! It is incredible to see that level of Great US Gear represented Overseas. I have never seen or heard in the US.
You are not snobby enough
Interesting
Quality work Jay
Thanks
Jay I told you on multiple occasions, and I started when you first got the Kronos, that you need to turn off or disconnect your digital equipment before listening to vinyl because it throws digital hash and distortions into analogue components.
I’ll try it man. I got too much going on
Bello.🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️
