GOT didnt “take its time” in the early seasons, it was simply adapting fully fleshed out books. The later seasons didn’t have source material to work with, only a basic storyline which is why the show fell apart. This should be like any other TV show in that the writers should be able to make the best choices given the trajectory of whatever story they come up with.
Thankfully they don't have the game of thrones idiot showrunners handling this. They completely screwed up the final season. Have no interested in getting invested into another show that just totally flops at the end.

The sound in this trailer is so frickin' good. Listened with headphones on, and Matt's voice echoed straight into my frickin' soul. I know there are people who don't like that he was cast as Daemon... But if there is one thing I know for sure is that Matt is a phenomenal actor. He WILL do a good job. I just know it!!!!

Seeing him live in STL with the local orchestra was such an amazing experience. While season 8 sucked, his music was incredible. I love how he nostalgically added “The Kings Arrival” from season 1 to the “Arrival at Winterfell” in season 8. I hoped he would do it and he did!

I dont think there is enough source material in "Fire and Blood" to make 8 seasons to be honest. I predict 2-3 seasons tops. The conflict, which is The Dance of the Dragons, only spans like 1/4 of "Fire and Blood" which is about 1/2 the size of GRRM's smallest "A Song of Ice and Fire" book.
In a technical sense, yes Dragons made him king. The last Mother of Dragons butned the city to the ground and the Last Dragon killed his queen. He did not want the throne. In a long scheme of it all, Dragons made a Stark King of Westeros.
Y'all are bashing them but they did a great job for the first 5 seasons and I'm sure they learned from their mistakes. The advantage here is the fact that the book and thus the ending is already written.

I was complaining about them screwing up the show from season 5 onward, but I have genuine faith this show will be good. They have SOURCE MATERIAL this time, we KNOW how this story ends! It isn't going to be 4 seasons of fantastic TV followed by a gradual descent into a cesspit.
I have so much trust in this. Full source material, George RR Martin guidance, D&D nowhere to be seen... and a spectacular plotline. I intentionally didn't read the books even though I know what happens, if they make it right (which I have a lot of faith in), this can release some of the sadness and anger that GoT and D&D left us.
I know people are worried this show will go the way of Game of Thrones, and while the final season may not have been what we wanted, I am in no way worried of how this show is going to go. Because we all have to remember that this is the prequel to Game of Thrones, meaning it can only do one thing: lead into Game of Thrones and do its best to honor it, and I have faith that it will. A few more months left to go, and we will be in the House of the Dragon.
The first few seasons of GOT were GODLY. This show will do justice because they have all the source material this time. The last two seasons of GOT they winged. And it sucked lmao.

@@habirton They did a good job at the start. But the quality declined significantly when there was still books to work from. Just take the whole Dorne arc for example. Then there's rushing at lightspeed through Feast and Dance just so they can reach the end.

@@masterdevoe2519 to begin with it already was something disconnected with Jackson's trilogy. Example is that the series' Narsil is different than the one in the LOTR movies. In Amazon the fellowship would probably have gimli as black and legolas as asian down the line if they'd cover that eventually.
Those two have lost ALL of their jobs that they had lined up. The moral of the story is: don't openly phone in a massive franchise because you're bored and expect to be given more work afterwards.
I really want to be excited but the final season of Game of Thrones really hurt this franchise. I'll be watching this with apprehension. I hope it turns out great!
I hope for the same. I am optimistic since unlike GoT, the Dance of Dragons story is essentially complete. We've got the build up to, the events during, and the aftereffects. All they need to do is hit the major plot points, add some extra scenes here and there, so long as they're consistent with the story, or just make sense, and they'll be golden.
The last season of GoT was horrible because they had no source material to go off of, as George R.R Martin had yet to finish the books. Thankfully, the conclusion to House of The Dragon has already been written. Also, Dumb and Dumber will be nowhere near this show .

@@jking4973 no. That's not even remotely true. The last season was horrible because D&D didn't want to spend the time neccessary to flesh out the ending. They had an offer from Disney to make Star wars movies and they wanted out of GoT as quickly as possible. HBO offered them more seasons and they rejected it. They also fired all the writers so that they could take credit for writing the final season. The books not being out is no excuse.
This story has a written ending so we can be rest assured they won’t botch it. Also, props to them for accuracy, purple eyes for Targaryens and an Iron throne that resembles the book very closely.
The throne looked like the set designers were told "Hey, make it look like it was described in the books, here's the old set and 20 bucks, go for it!" and so they glued a few extra sword props to the ground around it and called it a day.
They ruin everything. The crews and all the actors and actreeses should together deny the scripts. It is really a stained in movie industry and will be remembered for centuries. Imagine billions of people generation upon generation cursed D&D because of their reckless egoistic behaviour. 🤦
Oh boo hoo they copy a books that had taken multiple years to write and when the final two seasons run out of books to take from and they only have a couple months to do stuff they turn the show into the quality of regular cable TV. Sure it wasn't GOT quality but it was not even close to being as bad as people made it out to be. It was just basic TV for two seasons get over it and watch the damn show.

Oh and before someone says w/o D&D we wouldn’t have S1-6... well with that ending it would’ve been better for the show to never have existed.

@@KeenSince93 The lineage of the families is big part of the books. Appearance plays a big role too. Bloodlines matter. There's no reason the cast couldn't reflect the books exactly. Black people are over-represented in movies and TV. If that was what it was about then there should be more Latinos since they're a larger demographic than AAs.
What makes me hopeful about this show, is that the source material is complete, unlike Game of a Thrones. The Quality for Game of Thrones only started to decline when they no longer had George R.R Martin’s books to go off of. Thankfully, the ending for this story has already been written beautifully.

@@atheekameen99 Eh, I think the problem with GOT was that it didn't go on long enough. They tried to condense seasons worth of information into single episodes and rushed through everything. A Season 8 ending might not have been so bad if it had been stretched out over multiple seasons to truly do the show justice. To show us Daenerys' decent into madness and paranoia and not just flip a switch like "bitches be crazy". Also the sheer disregard for the Others could've been avoided by having a season dedicated to the North holding them off long enough to pull back their people to Winterfell while Cersei prepares to betray them. Long story short, more seasons would've helped but D&D wanted that Disney money from making Star Wars stuff so they rushed it. Pure karma that they won't be making any Star Wars stuff in the forseeable future. I guess Disney doesn't want them ruining their franchises anymore than Disney already has lol.

It’s not. George interrupted “writing” it so that he could partially write the series this show is based on. Yes, that’s right, this is also based on something he has yet to finish.
Read the wheel of time instead .. that is coming out on Amazon prime soon and at least that one is finished. Although he died and Brandon Saunderson had to finish it. But I heard he did a great job finishing it.
First season of HOTD will be top-notch considering their team's hardwork behind production and bringing most modren special effects making every scenes involving this fire-breathing beasts realistic.
@Muad'Dib I don’t think you understand what the Fire & Blood book really is. It’s about Targaryen history and the arc this show is taking place in was already finished in part 1. Part 2 will have no correlation to the Dance of the Dragons.
@Muad'Dib The first book of "Fire and Blood" ends a few years before the Blackfyre rebellion but after the Dance of Dragons. Don't know how well they'll handle the time skips (there's gonna be a lot of them), but I am intrigued in how the end product will be.

I would like to remind everyone that this is a separate adaptation of a separate book. Don’t let your hatred of season 8 stop you from enjoying this show. Dumb and Dumber’s ending of Game of Thrones is not the definitive ending of that story, the true ending has yet to be written.
That's good for you, but personally i don't care about this show, it has 'Game of Thrones' as part of the title and so seems to be set in the same universe. It can literally be the best story in fiction and yet the stain of Game of Thrones seasons 5-8 will still exist in my mind.
Well luckily for HBO “Blood & Fire” is already a finished book and I think they learned their lesson about straying from the writers material with GoT. I’m excited to watch!

Seeing him live in STL with the local orchestra was such an amazing experience. While season 8 sucked, his music was incredible. I love how he nostalgically added “The Kings Arrival” from season 1 to the “Arrival at Winterfell” in season 8. I hoped he would do it and he did!

In a technical sense, yes Dragons made him king. The last Mother of Dragons butned the city to the ground and the Last Dragon killed his queen. He did not want the throne. In a long scheme of it all, Dragons made a Stark King of Westeros.

I have so much trust in this. Full source material, George RR Martin guidance, D&D nowhere to be seen... and a spectacular plotline. I intentionally didn't read the books even though I know what happens, if they make it right (which I have a lot of faith in), this can release some of the sadness and anger that GoT and D&D left us.

Because we all have to remember that this is the prequel to Game of Thrones, meaning it can only do one thing: lead into Game of Thrones and do its best to honor it, and I have faith that it will. A few more months left to go, and we will be in the House of the Dragon.

Yea the last season of GOT was awesome to me, it it would have been better if they didn’t rush it.
I hope for the same. I am optimistic since unlike GoT, the Dance of Dragons story is essentially complete. We've got the build up to, the events during, and the aftereffects. All they need to do is hit the major plot points, add some extra scenes here and there, so long as they're consistent with the story, or just make sense, and they'll be golden.
The last season of GoT was horrible because they had no source material to go off of, as George R.R Martin had yet to finish the books. Thankfully, the conclusion to House of The Dragon has already been written. Also, Dumb and Dumber will be nowhere near this show .

@@jking4973 no. That's not even remotely true. The last season was horrible because D&D didn't want to spend the time neccessary to flesh out the ending. They had an offer from Disney to make Star wars movies and they wanted out of GoT as quickly as possible. HBO offered them more seasons and they rejected it. They also fired all the writers so that they could take credit for writing the final season. The books not being out is no excuse.
This story has a written ending so we can be rest assured they won’t botch it. Also, props to them for accuracy, purple eyes for Targaryens and an Iron throne that resembles the book very closely.

Black people are over-represented in movies and TV. If that was what it was about then there should be more Latinos since they're a larger demographic than AAs.
What makes me hopeful about this show, is that the source material is complete, unlike Game of a Thrones. The Quality for Game of Thrones only started to decline when they no longer had George R.R Martin’s books to go off of. Thankfully, the ending for this story has already been written beautifully.

@@atheekameen99 Eh, I think the problem with GOT was that it didn't go on long enough. They tried to condense seasons worth of information into single episodes and rushed through everything. A Season 8 ending might not have been so bad if it had been stretched out over multiple seasons to truly do the show justice. To show us Daenerys' decent into madness and paranoia and not just flip a switch like "bitches be crazy". Also the sheer disregard for the Others could've been avoided by having a season dedicated to the North holding them off long enough to pull back their people to Winterfell while Cersei prepares to betray them. Long story short, more seasons would've helped but D&D wanted that Disney money from making Star Wars stuff so they rushed it. Pure karma that they won't be making any Star Wars stuff in the forseeable future. I guess Disney doesn't want them ruining their franchises anymore than Disney already has lol.

First season of HOTD will be top-notch considering their team's hardwork behind production and bringing most modren special effects making every scenes involving this fire-breathing beasts realistic.

@Muad'Dib I don’t think you understand what the Fire & Blood book really is. It’s about Targaryen history and the arc this show is taking place in was already finished in part 1. Part 2 will have no correlation to the Dance of the Dragons.
@Muad'Dib The first book of "Fire and Blood" ends a few years before the Blackfyre rebellion but after the Dance of Dragons. Don't know how well they'll handle the time skips (there's gonna be a lot of them), but I am intrigued in how the end product will be.
Prequels: You can't screw up the ending when the ending has already happened.

I cried while reading when him and Good Queen Alysanne passed. They were amazing together I was truly heartbroken that their reign had to end.

I would like to remind everyone that this is a separate adaptation of a separate book. Don’t let your hatred of season 8 stop you from enjoying this show. Dumb and Dumber’s ending of Game of Thrones is not the definitive ending of that story, the true ending has yet to be written.

That's good for you, but personally i don't care about this show, it has 'Game of Thrones' as part of the title and so seems to be set in the same universe. It can literally be the best story in fiction and yet the stain of Game of Thrones seasons 5-8 will still exist in my mind.
It wasn’t season 8 that turned me off (HBO’s adaptation of) GoT. It was the gratuitous rape.
