You can start smaller. I leave bills in the bank. I budget for gas but it also stays in the bank because it's easier to pay at the pump. I began with cash envelopes for groceries, dining out, and a general "life happens" misc envelope for everything else. As I build up life happens a little I am slowly spreading it out to more specific categories. HTH ❤
My goal for this year is the 100 envelope challenge! I'm new to cash-stuffing, and while this challenge is definitely a lot it seemed like one of the most straightforward ones.
You can do it! I don't know why but I'm intimidated by the 100 envelope challenge LOL Right now I like the short and sweet ones, but i'm sure I will be getting into the 100 envelope challenge soon. :)
I like the font on your old envelopes better they’re shiny, I would just get an extra binder and keep the old envelopes that are pretty lol that’s just me
New subbie here and newbie to cash stuffing. Basically, I have my challenges and waiting on my binders and envelopes to get here. I can not wait to start. I know slow and steady wins the race and that is my motto for this first year. I am also going to record and post to UA-cam as accountability as well. That you for posting your journey!!
New Subbie here!🎉 I love your binder set up. I just started my UA-cam channel to help hold me accountable and stay organized while budgeting in our 40’s. I am loving this community so much❤. I look forward to following you on your budgeting journey.
New subscriber here. Nice to meet you. This will hopefully keep you accountable with posting on UA-cam. I'm obsessed. I can't wait to get paid. This system has been fun for me. You setup is off to a great start. Excited to follow you along
That is a "just in case" envelope, if you loose your job or just want to be one month ahead on your bills - a safety catch so to speak. Would like to build it up to 3 months in the future.
I heard 5 toddlers and that was it for me like TODDLERS AHHHHH lmao I have 5 starting from 16 down to 4 they drive me bonkers! and yet I want one more! 😂 but people think I'm crazy hahaha. So I'm saving and preparing to not be in crazy debt!
The island is beautiful I was born in Guanica, PR. June is huracanes season. I hope you are able to enjoy this time around. I want to take my husband to flamenco beach. Hopefully in 2025.
I thought hurricane season started in August? uggh, well we are trying again this summer! Fingers crossed. Someone told us about Flamenco Beach - we would love to try to go there also when in PR.
I am using Ally Bank - they have different savings "buckets" you can divide up your money into. Kinda of like envelopes :) Keeps things very organized.
Great video. Just a quick question, when you go on vacation do you take your vacation binder with you? If not, what do you use to know what money is coming out of which envelope? Thanks!
Hello! Great question! So, I budget for each category first (and over budget too a little - for "just in case" - like for Food say average $100 a day or whatever suits your family- I cash stuff up to the point where I budgeted for - for each category - then I just deposit about 80% of the cash into my checking account and usually leave 20% in cash for tips etc...So before I leave for vacation I just lump all the money together - then whatever is left over - I'll withdraw when I get back and either reallocate it or split it up again into my Vacation binder again into each category. I hope this makes sense.
Way too much for me to begin saving using envelopes…need all in one place…turning 70 Monday and so happy to be here after bad Covid episode in 21!
Understand...its not for everyone ❤️. Happy birthday 🎂
Happy Birthday and stay blessed!😊
