This Optimus introduced me to the entire Transformers universe when I was 5. This may not be the best representation of Transformers, but damnit do I love it.

Back when Megatron was pretty much the harbinger of death for anyone, even Optimus. Before he played second-fiddle to the Fallen or Sentinel, back when just having Megatron enter the battle was enough to get the Autobots panicking.

All things considered, the autobots did very well, holding out with very limited support against 4 dangerous enemies, none of which were the least bit concerned with the damage and death they caused and with the tactical advantage of forcing the enemy to fight on the defensive.

Brawl is a Combaticon, which is essentially a team of the toughest and most badass combat oriented Decepticons. The Combaticons make up Bruticus Maximus. And Bruticus actually makes Devastator look like a bitch.

the only reason i'm rewatching is because of how amazing megatron's voice acting is. it's so convincing and you can tell that welker did not come to play games when it came to delivering a menacing megatron.

Then they nerfed Megatron after this... In ROTF Optimus gets superpowered and blasts half his face off, and in DOTM Optimus decaptitates him in 5 seconds! Frankly, when your hero trumps the villain so easily, the bad guy doesn't feel like much of a threat, only a minor annoyance.
Megatron threw Optimus around like a rag doll in this movie but Optimus rips off Megatron's head within five seconds of fighting, with one fucking arm.

Second movie his left arm, core and right leg are missing, the constructicons sent to revive him have to kill one of their teammates “the little one” to replace the parts Megatron loss so he had to use parts of a lesser deception to come back the shard wasn’t enough on its own. Then in the 3rd movie he had to use salvaged parts to reconstruct himself from his loss with Optimus and has (half)of his (brain)/(cpu) missing after Optimus made him shoot himself, so you can’t really blame him for how weak he became throughout the other 2 films.
Plus his first film body was a perfectly molded vessel of battle, the result of millennia of warfare. Having your ENTIRE body completely altered would mean that he'd essentially need to re-train from scratch (remember he only managed to kill Optimus by literally stabbing him in the back) and as you say in Dark of the Moon he's not only got ANOTHER completely different body but he survived getting shot point blank in the face which honestly SHOULD'VE killed him.
0:45 you can see their size differences. Megatron is bigger than Optimus Prime since he transforms into an aircraft. But in the previous scene Meg jet mode looks small compared to Optimus.
A scene that I noticed that was insanely cool was that when megaton was flying towards optimus... optimus had a feeling megaton was gonna transform so he jumped at megaton with a punch but as soon as he realized he wasn’t going to transform he held on to megaton while thinking about punching him... just my personal opinion

Something I still can’t understand is how the plane going through the building scene actually made the final cut. It looked exactly how the plane hits the second tower on 9/11 by hitting it at an angle. Kinda creepy. Other than that awesome fight scene. Back when Megatron was a real badass

Thus his alien jet wouldn't be much bigger than Prime. It certainly was longer.

It was necessary to showcase who Megs is and this building is puny compared to 9-11. The reference isn't quite as strong on such a small building.

I really wish AOE and TLK didn't exist. I genuinely see the first three movies as some holy Trilogy. I find genuine enjoyment out of them, whereas with TLK and AOE I just find myself begging for the sweet release of death
