I'm astonished how she was able to put up with this for 13yrs.. between his shytty personality and his shytty mom, I'm utterly flabbergasted.. the lack of self respect, dignity, self love, desperation and low self esteem this wife displayed is real... my gawd.. I would rather be alone than to put up with THAT.. WHY is she telling MIL her pay? Is she trying to change her mind about the divorce?.. her income is NONE of their business.. NOBODY would do this." Work and give us all your money, agree to be our ATM", her only response should've been HARD PASS with laughing emojis..

It’s unusual to get compensation for adultery in the US. And it’s not called alimony. And it’s isolated not insulated here, or rather, estranged from all relatives. Insulation is commonly thought of as a building material, not anything to with relationships.

Yeah story is from Japan. There are only 5 reasons you can get divorced in Japan, and adultery is the easiest to prove. Alimony is a one time payment that you claim when you file for divorce. You get it before the divorce is finalized. In the division of assets the judge will often give the wronged partner, the one cheated on, a bigger share. The partner who was cheated on can sue for compensation, she (or he) can sue both the ex partner and the affair partner. In all of this, in Japan, it's best to have a lawyer because its best to come to a settlement before going before a judge. Also if you cannot afford to pay off in one lump sum the lawyers will negotiate a payment plan. If you fail to pay according to the plan a judge may issue a court order. If you ignore court orders you will probably be jailed until you comply.

"We don't have to divorce if you agree to hand over every cent you make and live on a $100 per month allowance. What do you say?"
"I say you must have hit your head on something more than once. Are you out of your FUCKING MIND? Who in hell would agree to that?"
