I cant see why freeways book about his life is any different from the lady who wrote harry potter, which she owned the rights to her story. If someone comes along and creates a show with a similar story, which had different names and slight changes to places you could be taken to court. The show Snowfall definitely reminded me of his story.
My fam used to stay in south LA on the street where Rick Ross said he started and several years ago he along with 4 other dudes with a camera were walking by the house recording the documentary that’s on Netflix. I remember one dude asked if he can record my dogs that were barking at them. Wished I would’ve taken a picture with Rick but once I realized who he was, they were far away.
I feel for this man. Seems like everybody is eating off his story, but him. Crazy!
I swear John singleton is very talented and puts out street films/shows that I love but I swear I've heard several people talk about how he met them, heard about their projects, ideas and scripts than turns right around and makes a film/series with the same subject matter!

The first thing I thought when I saw Snowfall was how close this was to Freeway Ricky's story. I even thought he may have helped write it but now I see that he had nothing to do with it at all, except for them borrowing pieces of his life for the show. If Freeway Ricky would've helped write it, it definitely would've made the show that much better.
The actors in snowfall are great & the way Damson changes as a character all the levels in Franklin is awesome he plays it well and it’s scary creepy ..they pushed a nice patient person to another level...🤯😳..
