Whenever I purchase a new truck, a tailgate pad will most likely be the way I will go. I have a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 receiver rack that's 10 yrs old and still works great. So, a pad would be a better option rather than replacing my hitch rack in order to carry more than two bikes, cheaper too.

I like that it just has long flat padding instead of the like. "chunky" "notched" padding that limits where you can put the bike.
Thanks for the video. Good info. We are wondering where you got the side mount brackets you added to your truck to use along with the tailgate pad.
Here is a link to those mounts. www.amazon.com/dp/B002N0013G/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_1629WCJVJVDDEJ5GJANB?linkCode=ml2&tag=runbikemike05-20

Look at that awesome shirt!!!!! Love it!!!!
Yeah!!!! Love me some Why Files
Great info and review, how has it held up since putting it on?
It is in almost new condition. Definitely a tough tailgate pad.
Good information 👍
They probably want you to remove it because it has no security Fetures.
yeah that is a downfall of this rack for sure. I wish it had a lock.
