The beginning moments of the Titanic sailing was so well done. The music, the movement of the image just made you feel prideful of her and the people who constructed such a behemoth.
Just came back from Las Vegas. The Titanic Museum is there. It is an incredible tour. And yes, lusitania freak is correct. A piece of the hull is on display. It was a very quiet moment. My Boarding Pass was a copy of Mr. Frank Thomas Andrew's, 25, of Cornwall, England. He did not survive.
magicaly done! wow to take us back in time and to let us see how difficult it was to put all those ribets on Titanic. Imagine swinging that heavy hammer all day long how tired one must be after work. I bet the workers who built Titanic were really heart broken when they heard she disapeared under the sea....
In fact during the early parts of the video they were taking down old cranes to build new ones. The cranes at Harland and Wolff were too small for the construction of the Olympic and the Titanic so they had to be demolished. Once they were removed they had to set up the new cranes, and build the Titanic. It cost 7.5 million US dollars in 1912 which would be equal to 500 million US dollars today to build the Titanic. It took 5 years to build and sank in less then 3 hours.
"There was peace and the world had an even tenor to it's way. Nothing was revealed in the morning the trend of which was not known the night before. It seems to me that the disaster about to occur was the event that not only made the world rub it's eyes and awake but woke it with a start keeping it moving at a rapidly accelerating pace ever since with less and less peace, satisfaction and happiness. To my mind the world of today awoke April 15th, 1912." -Jack B. Thayer, Titanic Survivor
Very well done indeed, would have preferred shipyard noises, still excellent. The aerial shot from on top of the Arroll gantry looking down was particularly effective
A nice reeneactment of the construction - Ive seen many photos off the Olympic Class vessels under construction within the great Arrol gantry at Harland & Wolff - this film seems to do a good job of showing how things were - however I do recall reading somewhere that (some) riveting work was done pneumatically but I may be mistaken.
I think it was be really great if they actaully built a ship like this,, and not just some movie they made up. It would be grand to see a real ship of this size and statue. I only wish they could really build something like this. In the movie, the ship sinks.
Hi bailey heady, His Majesty's Hospital Ship BRITANNIC sailed on her 6th voyage to Mudros to collect wounded British soldiers.Off the island of KEA there was a tremendous explosion , causing the ship to sink in 55 minutes In the days leading up to this the German submarine U 73 was laying mines in the area, hence the belief that it was a mine which caused the sinking. The jury is out as to whether a torpedo could have been to blame. At the time Britannic was the largest ship afloat.
To tell most people the truth Titanic was ahead for it's time. It had the latest 20th century technologies during it's time of building and construction. It even featured an elevator, and a more powerful telegraph engine. Titanic was also built for luxury and not for speed so also remember that too. The ship was ahead of it's time, but it was no match for the iceberg which brought her to her demise.
people realize the importance to mankind of the Titanic, the ship has changed the world forever, was an eternal lesson for man, moreover, is not the best ship of the time, is the best boat that has existed on this planet. one of the greatest creations of man, there is nothing like building technology and sophistication as the RMS Titanic, nor ever shall be. Titanic is the pinnacle of architecture, the elegance and sophistication of naval history, forever. Thank you.
I'm building Titanic model of cardboard... this video was my inspiration. I have build Titanic vith plates and glue peace by peace as they built real Titanic. first skeleton, then decks and plates. It is not 100% as original because I didnt have blueprints with true dimensions but it still looks like Titanic. I wish that someday, one man, with todays technology build real Titanic the same as it looks that day in history. Titanic is the most buitiful ship ever. sorry for my bad english...
the people of Belfast built a great and grand ship. she was in good hands with Capt. Smith. but like every other thing in the world, money oversaw the voyage. the great people of belfast are in no way to blame for what happened. this was the grandest ship of all time!!
A few years ago when this video was originally uploaded. It had different music. What songs were used originally? Have been searching for that Celtic sounding sung since.
The rudder was bigger on the Titanic than some ships bigger than her nowdays , they turned the rudder away from the iceberg and kept it there, if they had have turned away then turned toward the berg, she would have missed it and just remember, if she had not sank, we would not even know anything about her and the men who built her, master craftsmen
@Ralphlovs69cars The rivets in the front of the ship were weaker due to them having to be hammered in, since the machine that was used to put the rivets in could not fit in the space at the front of the ship. Those rivets were also made with a worse combination of slag...making them weaker.
it is so sad that the men and women who help build this beautiful ship never got paid the only way they would got pay is if the ship made to NYC and back but never so they never got pay such a shame :(
where did this footage come from? Of course, I realize a lot of it is digitally produced, etc...but who was the talented individual to put all of this together?
Titanic was the second of three Olympic class ships. Of the three sisters,Olympic collided with H.M.S. Hawke in 1911, rammed and sank the Nantucket Lightship in 1933 and was scrapped in 1935. Titanic sank on its maiden voyage in 1912, and H.M.H.S. Britannic hit a mine and sank in the Aegean Sea in 1916, during the second world war.
TITANIC TRIVIA: Fourteen years before the sinking of the Titanic, Morgan Robertson wrote a novello, "Futility, The wreck of the Titan", in which he describes a fictional ship Titan, largest ship in the world and practically unsinkable. It was 880 feet long, and carried 3000 passengers. It also had a shortage of lifeboats and only a handful survived . a collision with an icefield in the North Atlantic, 400 mile from Newfoundland on a passage from New York to England in April of that year. A warning
é verdade, os homens que construíram, quando souberam que o navio afundou e morreu todo mundo levou a chorar com corações partidos. Foi terrível para todos eles, para a cidade, para o pátio, para o mundo inteiro. Belfast nunca poderia superar.
@TheGodzillarules That would be her sister ship the Olympic, she was the first of the three sister ships and the only one to survive past 1916. She served as an Atlantic steamer until her decommissioning in 1935. Parts of her interior decor still survive today.

I think rebuilding the Titanic would be slightly disrespectful. Fate would have that Titanic sank, and I believe it should remain that way. For survivor relatives and the actual structure. There won't really be another ship like her.
that poor boy who feel down like that. he put all of his, blood , swet, and tears in to that ship but all of his work went away on that sad devistating day. i bet he did not think it would be in he bottem of the ocian
hopefully if they do rebuild the titanic, they BUILD THE RUDDERS BIGGER!, from what i've read if the 4 propellers had 2 rudders to each atleast twice the size of the props themselves, the first titanic disaster could have been averted... atleast that's what i've read
This is how you build a ship. in a slipway ribs then skeleton then skin. not modular blocks fabricated in some factory 2000 miles away. If you notice most Ocean liners of the era have that slight bend to the ship in the middle. also had they not used shit rivets the ship "MAY" have survived. Also interestingly White Star Line ships were never Christened like other ships. they are just launched.
yeah a rivet boy fell and died. The ship had quite a few bad omens. It nearly collided with a ship called new york. People cancelled because of bad feelings, The ships cat took all her kittens and left before Titanic set sail, a stoker saw the bad omen and left at Queenstown, An officer wrote a letter stating he still didn't like the ship, Belfast where it was built, the lights went out the time Titanic was actually sinking, a dying girl somehow saw the Titanic sinking and told the doctor
The beginning moments of the Titanic sailing was so well done. The music, the movement of the image just made you feel prideful of her and the people who constructed such a behemoth.
I love that this includes the Spirit soundtack lmao
It’s amazing they were able to build such a big ship back then.
Yea but you see cruise ships
Even like the 14 hundreds they built like pirate style ships it still big
@@jonjojo2885 yeah well they look like tug boats compared to titanic
@@Green_star_line yes
Titanic will always be remembered
This is what you call hard work not like today all robots
Wdym we still construct as humans it was 1912 technology was not very advanced
I can't comprehend how such massive things were built in times other than now. crazy
Right but cruise ship is like big chungus
i love the music in this video, it's from Spirit /stallion of the cimarron ;)
Building the scaffolding (gantries) were a feat of engineering in themselves. Brilliant video looking forward to seeing the rest 😀
RIP Titanic Una de las obras maestras de la humanidad por siempre.
metáfora del hombre en la tierra.

Something filling in my heart
rich guy: God himself couldn't sink this ship
God: Oh Really?
A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER...
people screaming in fear
I noticed that too lol
God didn’t purpose sink the ship is just natural
Wow! You really get the feeling of what it took to build these leviathans, something the photographs never really capture...Amazing vids.

This is a really good interesting and untouched subject..... We have only seen films about the Titanic sailing. This is thoroughly good..
The people just sacrifice there self to build the legendary ship I'm sorry for the man that died 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I don’t think sacrifice

Is this from the full version or just an excerpt?
i first heard the music and screamed SPIRIT!!!
Muy emotivo, gracias por compartir esta OBRA DE ARTE :)
i cant put into words how deeply this video changed me as a person
he also ignored iceberg warnings. and the builders made the rudder too small.
but nonetheless, it was a handsome ship indeed.
Such a beautiful ship made by so many good men, little did they know that their beautiful creation would be at the bottom of the Atlantic days later.
Days later? You mean few years later
Days later if it’s like 99.98.9 complete
I love titanic
Thank you
No shit

Pretty cool I've liked to study the titanic for a long time.
@ColumbiaAndHoodRiver Don't know, but it's from the album:
"Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" by Bryan Adams
Yes it was from a documentary called something like: Titanic: birth of a legend

I think they switched too b4they sailed
The Olympic was beautiful and looks so new and so much better and lasted 25 years after even though they had so many problems b4titanic sank weird huh
Ok

How were the plates sealed water tight?
I'm fairly certain Flexseal is a few years away..
Is this CGI? If it is, it's pretty damn good.
