In conclusion: "Anyone writing fascist propaganda is a friend of the Nation. Anyone writing objective literature that exposes Indonesia's military genocides and atrocities is banned or tapol." So the public can figure out exactly where this book qualifies under. 😪
Another corrupt historian that was paid by Indonesian nationalists to write another anti-colonial propaganda book. The millions of refugees who escaped Indonesian military terror and genocides know better than to justify what Indonesian government is capable of. Disgraceful book. David Van Reybrouck is trying to make money over the immense suffering of others. @Wahyu Hartanto yes I do know that and it doesn't justify the atrocities committed by Indonesian military. Regardless of the US involvement who have already acknowledged it. Indonesian government still denies and refuses to face up to what they did. Instead keeping in power the same military leaders that murdered millions of people. So Unfortunately it's no excuse.
To be very Honest. Jakarta was absolutely beautiful and organized before the war during the Dutch rule. Unlike the Belgians in Congo the Dutch did not destroy archives, schools, infrastructure and hospitals out of vengeance. This hypocrite incompetent Belgian Historian Van Reybrouck has a lot to learn from the Dutch postcolonial attitude. It's very clear that Van Reybrouck has absolutely no in depth historical knowledge about Indonesia at all. Pity.
@@user-vv7rr3ls9i The book content is not about his knowledge about Indonesian History, its about interview with the people who survive the war from Indonesian side.
