Shreveport has a lot of amazing history waiting to be uncovered.. literally!! In our research at the Northwest Louisiana Archives at LSUS we have made some really cool discoveries but this project has got to be one of our favorites! Few people know that Shreveport had streetcars as early as 1890 (before New Orleans) and that before that mules pulled the "streetcars" along the streetcar tracks. What many people don't know is that those streetcar tracks are still there! Yep, that's right, they are literally under our feet! Check out this cool video and prepare to be blown away!!
