Why is HK Milk Tea described as a working-class drink? It's a drink for all classes everyone drinks it. Beer is drank by everyone too. Do we call beer a working class beverage too?
@@alhkcblack9617 In hong kong there is only one version and theyy always use condensed milk which already has lots of sugar and lactose in it regardless of whether you add any extra or not. It's a highly unhealthy drink
My guess is since at least when HK was colonized by Britain. But wouldn't be surprised if they had black tea well before then too. Global trade and all
HK’s milk tea just tastes wrong to me, over brewed, it’s bitter and lack refinement; and evaporated milk is just awful, we don’t live in the 1950s any more…
you brew coffee, you don't brew tea. the Brits bastardized tea by adding sugar and milk/cream from the very beginning. the Brits smuggled tea plants from China and setup plantations in India and Ceylon/Sri Lanka, then elsewhere.

The milk tea in Hong Kong is the most desirable milk tea I have tried
That’s such a weird way of describing milk tea
@@FC-eh7llisn't it some direct translation from foreign language? have seen that before, nothing weird
You need to try the middle eastern milk tea.
Just make it at home..
Translation: pay more for basically the same thing 😅
I really love what is called ( in English) milk oolong tea. The delicate taste has a kind of milky flavour. Really refreshing!
Hong Kong, Malaysian and Thai milk teas are quite similar with localization that makes it different.
A rich bitter dark tea mix cut with milk or cream to dull the intensity, mixed with sugar. Some don't get it but some love it.
Asian tea are the best

Glass bottle is the only way I would drink milk tea. Plastic bottles is a no go.
Wow Id love to go to HongKong and try it 😊
Many don't like it. For me, I would get one every time I see it.

Can make different flavours with less degrees of sugar and even without sugar. Must try HK milk tea!! ☕
They use fresh milk right???
the best tea
more complex than italian sorts, i lived in HK 2020 & ate out every day
come to Malaysia try our 'Teh Tarik" is more tasty than Hk milk tea
And probably wayyyy cheaper
I rather go enjoy it cheaply and made fresh in a cafe. Think they are just commercialising it and wasting bottles. Leave it be
cool---HK🇭🇰~~~🇨🇳!Hong Kong is great👍🏻🇭🇰
Do they put hor milk tea in the plastic bottle?
I hope not because it will taste badly. I am huge fan of milk tea.

I think it's using historical context given how they contrast it with the way it is being made and marketed today.
Since when is milk tea traditional in Asia ????? I was born in 1958 in HK, and made tea with milk at home.
Lactose intolerance is most common in people of East Asian descent, so how milk tea is so popular in East Asia countries?
British colonization influence👍
Asians who consume dairy on a regular basis can build a tolerance.
Asians have less cases of lactose intolerance compared to caucasians
No thanks I will prefer to drink fresh………😂
I love HK's milk tea.
Overpriced
Malaysia milk tea is the best! It suits the American in me

It's different than TW. HK milk tea is extremely strong with evaporated milk
Absolutely WILD thinking that Taiwan invented milk tea
All that condensed milk is a sure fire way to get diabetes. Not to mention all the rice Asians eat
It's doesn't always contain condensed milk that's just one version. Many cafe's have the sugar on the side you can add as much as you want.
