The only reason there relationship was “toxic” was because everyone else was telling them it was. Caroline constantly shaking Elena, Stephan hating Damon, everyone made them feel like they couldn’t love each other
They were vampires ,ofcourse their will be some toxicity, but in reality their relationship was healthy, as they both have the power of communication and Letting each other go.
Damon constantly threatened the people she “loved” yet she came running back to him, Damon has threatened her bother and KILLED her brother several times and she went running back to him Damon also killed one of her so called “Bestfriend” and they’re still together, they were such a cute couple but it was toxic and as Elena said “Damon makes me do crazy things” very toxic. Let’s not forget how manipulative Damon was towards Elena

He loved Elena either way if she was a vampire or human. She fell in love with Damon twice knowing all the bad stuff he did. They were honest with each other. They would always find their way back to each other. He gave her a love that consumed her, he gave her passion, and even an adventure. He challenged Elena. I mean sure stelena was cute and all but it was high school love. Damon was the love of their life. If her love of her life was Stefan she would’ve never fell for Damon.

Their relationship wasn’t toxic, it was passionate and consuming. And that’s what Elena wanted deep down, Matt and Stefan were just like high school sweethearts compared to what she had with damon
Yes honestly I don't understand why people call it toxic just because he has anger management issues but apart from that he is a great guy he cares about everyone but never shows it yes he made a lot of mistakes but so did everyone and the things that he suffered were way more painful than everyone did so yes at the end he did deserved his happy ending

This edit is just so beautiful, and it's so cool how significant the moment Damon and Elena first meet is, because she said that maybe it would be different if they had met first. And I feel like the reason that the line "you want a love that consumes you" has such significance is in the fact that she explained to Matt how she felt about of Stefan vs Damon. And when he asked about Damon, she said "He consumes me." And that's before we even see the scene where Damon says it

I am Portuguese❤️ and I loved this edition of Delena really is the best couple I have ever seen!
The fact that Damon always prefered Catherine and was devoted to her until she dumped him, even when Elena was in picture for a while tells me all I need to know. If Catherine said "yes" to Damon, he'd be with Catherine and not Elena. The fact the final decision of his love life was made by Catherine indicates that Elena wasn't his first choice unlike for Stefan who fell for Elena the minute he saw her and almost never mistook her for Catherine unlike Damon did. Damon hurt Elena much more often and almost always consciously. When Stefan hurt her only if he was absolutely forced. It's how true love works. Stelena always for me ❤ One who truly loves always tells a difference, like with parents who know their twins. Damon was fooled by Catherine almost all the time. It means he wasn't deep enough to feel and see the difference))
