    Amazing video!
    How was the quality of your work in the early stages? Would love to see How your website looked when you first launched☺️

      Thanks Michelle! In the early stages our team was very small, just two designers, so the quality of work was high. I also find in the early days everyone is willing to grind a bit harder because we're all just trying to prove the business can work. Over time it takes a focused effort to maintain that same quality level while the team grows. I have 17 designers on the team now, so managing that creative output is a whole different beast!

    Hey Eli!
    Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and business growth insights. Your video has been particularly helpful as I work towards my own client growth goals. I have strong skills and know many talented professionals in my industry, but I’m currently lacking a standout website to showcase our work.
    Could you provide more details on how you approached your web design process in the beginning? Did you invest in a custom design, or did you handle it in-house? Also, do you think I should feature work from others I plan to collaborate with on future projects to enhance our credibility on the website as well? We aren't in a company together but I thought you had a good point about pooling multiple peoples credibility resources together.
    Thanks again for your guidance and keep on shouting to the void, its only a matter of time before this picks up more.

      Hey Chris! Happy to share more details:
      For our initial site launch we designed and built it all custom (Figma + Webflow). We did this because I had the resources already on payroll so it was essentially "free" for me to go this route. That said, in the past I've used Squarespace templates for my MVP website and then only replaced that with custom once the business is producing profits. I think you can go a long way with just a squarespace template and good content /copy on the site.
      As for feature work from others - I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this, can you share an example? I think it can be a grey area where it's ok to do as long as it isn't disingenuous. An example would be: I'm comfortable having my designers do work for companies that aren't clients of ours to showcase their creativity, but if asked I wouldn't represent those companies as clients of ours. Here's an example of one of those: www.noboringdesign.com/case-study/alphasense
      Feel free to flow over any other questions!

      @@in_pursuit Thank you for your reply and the website suggestion. I completely agree about the importance of being genuine and transparent in representing our work on the portfolio website.
      I would like to add more clarity to my example. I’m planning to collaborate with several other creatives on future projects as I build my client base and establish myself further as a freelance video editor, having worked in the industry for most of my career. Most of my work has come through word of mouth, so marketing myself online is a new challenge that I’m getting used to. Each of us has unique talents and a track record of producing outstanding work in the digital and television industries, with expertise in various areas including design, VFX, video editing, producing, and motion graphics.
      Do you think combining our previous work on a single website would benefit us collectively? This approach would allow us to showcase a wider array of skills and present a comprehensive portfolio that highlights our collective capabilities to potential clients we might not have been able to reach individually. I believe this could help us appear more established as a group and attract more clients. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks Eli,
    Where do you find private Slack groups to join?

    • @in_pursuit
      @in_pursuit  26 днів тому

      The best tactic I’ve found to identify private slack groups is to ask your target buyers or existing customers what groups they are in and find value in and then see if you can get an invite.

    Also, what was step 9? There is a skipped step from 8 to 10 in the vid.

    • @in_pursuit
      @in_pursuit  20 днів тому

      Good catch! I think I only had 9 steps total and didn't realize until we were in the editing process. Since we already had our title set I'm pretty sure our editor just rolled with 10 😂
