Something I really took to heart this year as well as I left a very comfortable job that paid well in Austin, TX (had a beautiful house, time for personal interests) and moved to LA to work for SpaceX (small apartment, no time for personal interests). I'm a full time student and had a part time job that I loved. I made more per hour than the us national average and I did meaningful work with people who respected me as much as I respect them. I had to walk away after 15 months because it was holding me back and stopping me from pursuing opportunities. Today was my last day.
Jeremy Diamond totally get it. I just quit my amazing part time job of 18 months too as I finished up my last of school and am moving on to tackle new projects and dreams. It’s hard to let go of a good thing in the search for great things. But I’m convinced it’s how we truly are going to create the life we won’t regret. I recently had an emotional experience with someone I loved that I hadn't seen in a long time, it reminded me to feel; feel emotions and to not try and organize them around a calendar. It was like a mental reset that came just in time for the new year and has helped me re-align my values and where I am going. In 2018 I quit my minimum wage job, which was the ultimate risk. I took on an internship instead, at British GQ. Unpaid. I had no money, but I gained valuable experience in the magazine industry. I’m now studying a masters in magazine journalism at one of the top schools in the U.K. In 2019 I’m gonna double up on the hard work - this year for me is all about using the time I have for the things I love. That includes making a lot more films on UA-cam. Good luck to everyone with their goals this year.

Hey Dan, It's almost 4 years that I watch Casey's videos and yours. You asked for exposing positivity, here it is. I'm from Iran and I'm a product designer at an e-commerce company. I have a big passion for creating things to get used by ppl every day in their life. And I do my best to chase the path I started 7 years ago; Learning more and more. But I have another passion in my life, which has a kind of dramatic/romantic story behind it. My girlfriend migrated to States 3 years ago and I haven't seen her for 2 years. She broke up w/ me 4 months ago. (I'm not gonna tell the whole story. Which is long). But I'm going to migrate to Canada (which currently is the nearest country that I can migrate to as an Iranian citizen). I'm having a hard time. Affording my financial stuff besides saving money for a big trip and there are so many other challenges ahead... The point is that everyone is saying to me that my decision is ridiculous. moving forward hopefully... I've been in a mad long depression since my dad died (18 months ago) - lost contact with all of my friends and completely isolated myself to the point where i actually have anxiety about going out now. Hopefully in 2019 i'll stop waiting for myself to get better and force myself to do something that lets me move forward - it will be a hard one and i don't know if/how im going to do it by myself... We all got stories, that is the latest on mine.

Thank you for what you just said about change. I was in a rut my life was not going anywhere. I was not working, I was on Section 8 which is a government subsidies for those people who are either Senior Citizens of those that don't make enough to rent a place to live. I was even receiving food stamps. I decided to buy an RV and hit the road, I got off section 8, and food stamps, and now I am working for a security company as a Gate Guard for the oilfields in Texas. I'm doing so much better today than when I was dependent on government help. I am an Independent contractor and loving my life more today than any other time of my 71 years. Yes, I'm old.lolol. This last year I grew in a way I could have never imagined. Made new friends, discovered new places and started to do what I love. I decided to stop my study next year and start working part-time with the possibility to start a coachings study. Next year is a new opportunity to continue, continue what I started and do even more of what I love (starting the second of January). Creating, Playing and Exploring. (My three new life pillars)

with a lot of these videos coming out, I've started writing down my goals and ideas for 2019 improvements... writing down always helps. i want to focus on health, fitness, school, travel and personal life.
I started my aim this year. I bought a proper DSLR and started trying to do more than just take holiday snaps, I taught myself the basics of photography and have been working at it, I'm nowhere near great but I believe you can always improve. I've suffered severe depression and anxiety. I couldn't leave bed out of fear. I worked hard to get myself out and keep myself out of it. A small part of my recovery (please honestly find professional help, it's hard to do but you will be 10 times stronger than a "healthy" person at the end) was to look for the beauty around us, from the regular to the different. I wanted to share the beautiful world I started seeing again once I hauled myself out of that familiar hazy world of depression and anxiety. Show that you can come out and find something. I hope I can inspire just 1 more person to come out of a similar situation as I was in, because no one deserves that, but people who are there are the ones with the most potential built up inside. I turned my Insta from my holiday snaps to a little more. My Insta is @Valbret if you feel like following, if be forever grateful but also, my point is that I think you've got to aim to find something that makes you enjoy something even if it's as little as looking at a cool pebble, a glass or a sign. Look for beauty around you. I do my photography as a hobby and nothing else, I spent so much money, I embarrass myself trying to take the right photo for me. But you know what? The sense of achievement is great. I'm losing followers on Insta, but that's ok. Because I love what I'm creating. If yoive read this far or even if you haven't, I wish you a great 2019 and further!
Love the episode Dan, this one speaks to me deeply because of where I'm currently in my life. My 2018 is one that I'm happy to say goodbye to, but is also one of the hardest to say goodbye to. There was a lot of good, and many fond memories that'll forever be with me. But, my wife of 28 years left me, and I'm now left standing to pick up the pieces that remain, figuring out how to make it all work. After the initial shock 4 months ago, I'm finally getting to a place where I realized it had not been a healthy marriage for quite some time, and both of us were holding on to something not really worth holding on to simply because it was what we were familiar with, it was the easy route. I'm now ready for this change and I'm excited for the next chapter of my life. I'm ready for new challenges. Not only am I ready for change in my life, but I'm ready to be one to facilitate change in this world, ready to make it a better place. Great work again, bru!

Im planning to become a pilot in the RAAF, 3 weeks ago i couldnt do 10 sit ups and barely 15 push ups in a row. Im at 50 sit ups and 70 pushup right now and Ive got 17 days to i see my recruiter. Thank you for sharing the harder parts of your life. Us as viewers tend to only see the highlight reel and compare it to our own realities, which makes us wonder where we are going wrong. I’m in my third year of undergrad and I’ve never been more confused as to what I want to do with my life, so I started a UA-cam channel and idk how 2019 will go but I can only hope for some change. Thank you for what you just said about change. I was in a rut my life was not going anywhere. I was not working, I was on Section 8 which is a government subsidies for those people who are either Senior Citizens of those that don't make enough to rent a place to live. I was even receiving food stamps.
I decided to buy an RV and hit the road, I got off section 8, and food stamps, and now I am working for a security company as a Gate Guard for the oilfields in Texas. I'm doing so much better today than when I was dependent on government help. I am an Independent contractor and loving my life more today than any other time of my 71 years. Yes, I'm old.lolol. But you are only as old as you want to be. Thanks for this video..
Hey Bru! I recently moved to Colorado Springs for a dream job, in a dream city...but it costed me some very dear things. So, this year I am focusing on simplifying my life. Getting rid of useless clutter, old stuff I don't use anymore...etc. As well as keeping my head-space simple as well. Allowing things that grow me, and quickly cutting things out of my life that drain me (without return). Here we go, Bru!

I was very upset about where I was in 2017 and 2018. I spent almost all of 2018 setting up my goals for 2019. To make a long story short.. I start my dream job tomorrow and I have UA-cam as a creative outlet. Thanks for everything you do Dan! Happy New Year!

This last year I grew in a way I could have never imagined. Made new friends, discovered new places and started to do what I love. I decided to stop my study next year and start working part-time with the possibility to start a coachings study. Next year is a new opportunity to continue, continue what I started and do even more of what I love (starting the second of January). Creating, Playing and Exploring. (My three new life pillars)

This year I want to step further in my journey to develop my own business and quit my day job, create a UA-cam channel with the goal to share my passion. Obviously, I have other goals (be happy is the first and more important) but I think these ones are the main ones.

with a lot of these videos coming out, I've started writing down my goals and ideas for 2019 improvements... writing down always helps. i want to focus on health, fitness, school, travel and personal life.
I started my aim this year. I bought a proper DSLR and started trying to do more than just take holiday snaps, I taught myself the basics of photography and have been working at it, I'm nowhere near great but I believe you can always improve. I've suffered severe depression and anxiety. I couldn't leave bed out of fear. I worked hard to get myself out and keep myself out of it. A small part of my recovery (please honestly find professional help, it's hard to do but you will be 10 times stronger than a "healthy" person at the end) was to look for the beauty around us, from the regular to the different. I wanted to share the beautiful world I started seeing again once I hauled myself out of that familiar hazy world of depression and anxiety. Show that you can come out and find something. I hope I can inspire just 1 more person to come out of a similar situation as I was in, because no one deserves that, but people who are there are the ones with the most potential built up inside. I turned my Insta from my holiday snaps to a little more.
My Insta is @Valbret if you feel like following, if be forever grateful but also, my point is that I think you've got to aim to find something that makes you enjoy something even if it's as little as looking at a cool pebble, a glass or a sign. Look for beauty around you. I do my photography as a hobby and nothing else, I spent so much money, I embarrass myself trying to take the right photo for me. But you know what? The sense of achievement is great. I'm losing followers on Insta, but that's ok. Because I love what I'm creating.

Love the episode Dan, this one speaks to me deeply because of where I'm currently in my life. My 2018 is one that I'm happy to say goodbye to, but is also one of the hardest to say goodbye to. There was a lot of good, and many fond memories that'll forever be with me. But, my wife of 28 years left me, and I'm now left standing to pick up the pieces that remain, figuring out how to make it all work. After the initial shock 4 months ago, I'm finally getting to a place where I realized it had not been a healthy marriage for quite some time, and both of us were holding on to something not really worth holding on to simply because it was what we were familiar with, it was the easy route. I'm now ready for this change and I'm excited for the next chapter of my life. I'm ready for new challenges. Not only am I ready for change in my life, but I'm ready to be one to facilitate change in this world, ready to make it a better place. Great work again, bru!

Im planning to become a pilot in the RAAF, 3 weeks ago i couldnt do 10 sit ups and barely 15 push ups in a row. Im at 50 sit ups and 70 pushup right now and Ive got 17 days to i see my recruiter. Im studing 2 unit maths and i haven't done a maths test in 8 years. To quote NakeyJakey " I never let DSL keep me from teaching myself
