all her official songs so far are more from an already reflected pov (she as a wiser, more mature person). 50ft, Lento f.e. represent a chill vibe and even expectations was looking back at it an overreaction (see genius interview).. I totally admire her current way of looking at life and healing but in the process she guards her emotions from her music. That is why I love TOY!! You can feel her emotions (anger, disappointment, resistance) where nowadays she sees anger as a way of not being your higher self (that's how I interpret her way of thinking, agree to disagree?). Don't get me wrong.. Chill songs are totally acceptable and somehow needed in her case but what is music without expressing deep feelings. TOY stands for a new beginning and has an amazing energy.
Lea B I so agree, she has grown so much ever since the group split, and she (understandably) wants to reflect that in her music. I feel like Toy is about a clean break from 5H and their label, Epic. But I do wish she would release Toy, and Inside, as singles at least, even if they won’t be on her album.
