But back then, Factions shouldn't have mechanics like 5 TNT to break Obsidian, or custom enchantments, or a dedicated community that is welcoming to new players.

press f3+b to see hitboxes, it helps since minecraft visually and hitbox-wise is not accurate which is why you sometimes miss shots. nice video
