What a bloody legend!! I have just been diagnosed with kidney cancer and watching has turned my attitude totally. Great bloke and great story Spotlight ✌️
In 1942 (I think) Colonel John Metson crawled the track as he had been shot in both legs. He did not want to burden other men by being carried by his mates on a stretcher. Their leader, Brigadier Sidney Hamilton Buckler (of Coffs Harbour), finally made the tough decision to leave the wounded in a village, along with a private Fletcher who I believe volunteered to stay with them. Unfortunately, these men were all killed by Japanese. I cry whenever I read this. By all accounts, Metson kept his spirits cheerful so as not to worry his mates. Please look up the story. I'm concerned I haven't told it well enough.
The kokoda track is not an easy track for any body. Old, young, able-bodied, or disabled. Just walking the track is he'll on earth. We have to be physically & mentally fit to climb those hills. Papua New Guinea. 🇵🇬 😬😲😦
@ 7 News Spotlight. Why can I comment on this video; but not videos where your reporters sympathies with serial killers, rapists and worse...? Please Explain
