If you do portrait style, perhaps do a stack with the game in the top 1/3, and the chat in the bottom 2/3. Your face cam could be covering the bottom half of the chat section (about 1/3 of the screen). Of course, with the bottom of the chat covered, you'd want the newest messages to be at the top. Not sure if any of this is possible, but it'd be neat!
