It goes to a screen that asks "Are you an authorized channel partner or customer with contractual agreements?" . I selected no, and set up a personal account, then selected upgrade to business account. I guess I'll know in a few days if it worked.
I didn't have to recursively use WIndows 7. I installed the driver.. had to power cycle the radio and close and reopen CPS and POOF! It found the radio. So that's a start.
I have completed the order for the software and its approved, but not showing up in entitlments even after following the steps. Appreciate the video though!

The concept should work unless Motorola has changed their policies. The screens and the process was captured when the video was created. Companies evolve their websites and platforms over the time and changes can happen unexpectedly. This video is now more like a proof of concept than a guidance.
Yes it is. I just checked. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you have to do the wide banding training before the code is available to you, it is also free and you can access online. I did the training before I got the code if I remember correctly. This is the link learning.motorolasolutions.com/online/28222enus - and my status says "Completed" - Maybe is this.

I've had an account with Motorola Solutions for some time now. I followed the steps of this video exactly and was able to put the order for the software in my cart. However, it will not let me check out. There is only a continuous spinning wheel of death. It's been going for about 2 hours now.

@@VA3HDL I wasn't able to even get that far. Once I added the software to my cart, I clicked on "my cart". Once the new page came up, there was a never-ending spinning wheel on the center of the page, and the check out button is grayed out so I can't continue.

On reasearching I see that you no longer have to get the class for the 20/25 khz but on mine it is showing that it costs $5 per entitlement. Can you verify if it is still free for you or is it now $5 per entitlement for everyone. I am just trying to verify my account actually got set up properly. My CPS was showing $0 but that entitlement is not free for me.
Hi Luis, this is very good advice! My hotspot channel on this Motorola radio is programmed to 1 W output. The antenna I use is generally located on the top of my tower, very far from the hotspot. 73
The major difference I noticed is the user interface looking more modern. I didn't do the programming with CPS 2.0 but I was able to read the radios without any issues. I'm not sure if possible to go back to the old CPS if the radios are programmed with CPS 2.0 - I didn't try this. I believe that should be more differences but I haven't played much with 2.0
@@VA3HDL How do I acquire the FIRMWARE such that I can download it to the radio? DO I install CPS in windows 7 FIRST (and I presume this fixes the drive issue) and THEN download firmware updates? I'm confused about the ports, network addresses and so on to connect to the radio EVEN IF the driver is working in WIndows 7. Thanks.
@@silasmarner7586 Yes, that is correct.First upgrade the radio firmware in Windows 7, then it will be recognized in Windows 10. Now to add the firmware go to motorolasolutions, my view, entitlements, software, and add them there for free using the "+ Subscribe" button at the top. Download and install the firmware package on the Windows 7 machine. Good luck.
My account has finally been approved as a business and I STILL cant access the download...... I'ts been a process they're so backed up it took 3 weeks just to get approved....Any thoughts or feedback?
One thing that you can do is contact their support via the chat or via the toll free number and ask them to enable your account to get this code. This usually helps. Good luck!
@@warzone7571 I had to reach out several times. Even after the account was activated I had nothing but issues with orders and so on. A total of 5 times between calls and live chats. It took about 20 days to get approved and another 7 before my first order was placed and the download was sent. I had to reach out for each step. The order was placed for software download and I never received an email so after about 7 days I sent a live chat and within minutes I got the email. I think they have issues with their emailing system

It should work. I'm not aware of other software to program these radios. For older radios may not work, but for new ones like the XPR shouldn't be a problem.

I got response from Motorola and they said that they can upgrade account to business only in US region, not EMEA (Europe and Middle East). Sad...

This depends on the mode:
- FM "normal" uses 25kHz
- FM "narrow" uses 12.5kHz
- DMR uses 12.5 kHz
