New lights only looked really good IMO. Cool little setup, the wattage cottage is getting pimped! I love having a treadmill in the pain cave and Zwift running, makes for great brick sessions.
Shadows are distracting. Look up "3 point lighting." You need a ...1) fill light, a ...2) rim/back light, and a ...3) main light. Also, experiment with bouncing light. Remember, the subject is YOU, not the foreground or background. You will know you have the lighting correct when the lighting focus is on you. You will also know if the amount and temperature of the light are correct when your skin complexion color matches in the camera. If your skin looks correct, then all colors around you will also be accurate. Finally, look up shooting "flat". That method of camera settings can make up for a lot of light shortcomings when on a budget.
@@TriathlonDan LED light. They are cooler and uses much less electricity. Bounce boards also amplify a single or dual light use. BTW, you don't need a lot of light. In fact, too much light blows out the subject. Also, learn to change your camera setting then shoot and edit using "flat" camera setting plus a LUT (Look up table) during editing will make the editing of lighting difference much easier. Or, you can just eyeball the color correction by making your complexion look normal. Using a "flat" settings is a cheap way to make up for poor lighting. There are a lot of inexpensive ways to make up for poor lighting or balance out lighting to make a better video.
