On April 15, 2024, Tanguy Gore, an experienced field service mechanic at Riverbend Sand and Gravel Mine, tragically lost his life while dismantling a conveyor. During the task, a conveyor tail section, improperly secured, collapsed, pinning and crushing him. The investigation revealed that the mine lacked proper safety procedures, training, and hazard awareness, which contributed to the accident. In response, new safety protocols were implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future, highlighting the critical importance of workplace safety and proper training in high-risk environments.
