this is exactly why i prefer the originals, whilst the vampire diaries could have had better actors, better relationships, which imo it didn’t anyways but even so, it was the originals focused on the bond of family that made it superior to tvd which was about a silly love triangle
Alyssa Long Yeah but it is mostly all about family, Elena was so sad when all her family died that they spent 3 episodes on Elena turning her humanity off because of how broken she was with no family, they spent a whole season on fighting with Damon’s and Stefan mum and then she died and Stefan was so sad and of course Stefan and Damon act like they hate each other but in the end, they showed their love for each other.

He has a hard time trusting to begin with. And I don't think John would've trusted the elixir either. Elijah himself said it may not work. Elena didn't care. John and Damon ensured her survival.

Julie has said that it wasn't her intention for Elena and Damon to end up together she did it for the fans that wouldn't let up. She wanted stefan and Elena to end up together in the end but because Nina was leaving she couldn't do that.
