Great video, I'm literally watching this video whilst sat looking at her. She's anchored here in Torbay currently and as I've not been on her I thought I'd watch this to get a glimpse onboard.
The beauty of these refurbished RCCL/Celebrity ships is that although the renovation makes them beautifully modern, they retain the spaciousness and relaxed atmosphere that the older designed ships are famous for... it truly is the best of both worlds, and I hope to try either the Explorer (formerly Celebrity Galaxy), and the Discovery (formerly RCCL Splendour of the Seas) as soon as I can.
Ben and David you did an EXCELLENT job of this ship tour. We were on her 2 weeks after her refit a couple of years ago and she looks as good as she did back then. I had some great flashback memories watching your tour. Well done again guys. James.
Very nice, we took our very first cruise on this ship in 2007 when she was the Celebrity Galaxy. They have done a beautiful job on the redesign but kept a lot of the major features. Thanks for the video it brought back a lot of memories. I sure it will bring back memories for a lot more. It would be fun to sail on her again.
Booked my first ever cruise on this ship for my birthday January next year really looking forward to it. Your tour helped me decide on this one so thanks for that.
As I said in my comment about Marella Explorer in one of your other social networks; I worked on her when she was the MS Galaxy from Celebrity Cruises but I have to tell you that she looks so updated and beautiful, she doesn't show her age at all!!! Thank you, Ben & David, for bringing some great memories from my days on her
Thanks for this guys, I’ve been on 4 cruises with Thomson / Tui / Marella and the Explorer is my favourite ship so far, I’m booked to sail round the Eastern Med next summer on her and can’t wait.
Great video!!! Booked onto the Explorer for my 1st Marella Cruise next October. As an ardent P&O/Princess fan I bit the bullet due to the amazing itinerary and great value.
Another beautiful ship, was nearly going to book a cruise to NZ for November but decided on a month in Malta 🇲🇹 instead, but always love 💕 seeing beautiful ships I’ll watch them sail in from my hotel balcony in Malta 🇲🇹 instead 🥰
Love you two and we thank you for your helpful and entertaining cruise videos. We're cruising for the first time on February 2nd on the Carnival Pride and your videos have really helped us understand how to prepare. It's our 45th anniversary vacation and we want it to be special. We subscribed to your channel and look forward to your upcoming videos. God bless you! Jim
Thanks for the tour. Looking forward to a trip to the med in April and Tui provide more ports but i have to say that the latest fleet of p and o boats are much more impressive. This however offers considerably more ports
Just sailed for 2 weeks in Baltics ! Was fantastic ! Had inside cabin on deck 8, lots of room and storage Food great, but not amazing, but staff fab and overall value for money was fantastic! Going again, lol but transatlantic this time ! ⚓️
Thank you for the great tour! This ship looks fantastic! I love the cabin like booths near the pool! The staterooms look nice and spacious. We'll need to look into this ship's itineraries the next time we're planning a cruise! Thanks again
I think I may have found my cruise line. Adults only on the Explorer 2 plus some sailings on other ships are adults only. Less expensive than the other adults only lines, with a good selection of ports. Many drinks included. And from the videos I've seen, the ships have a decent spread of ages on them, instead of being like a floating retirement home. Sign me up!
Just remember that this ship is elderly not just old elderly. If you value your sleep avoid cabins on low decks Aft. I was lucky enough to have a Cabin mid ship on deck 8. Talking to people around the pool from low decks Aft I learned that the noise from the engine room was intolerable. The food the beverages and entertainment are all excellent. The additional restaurants are well worth the small cover charge. The only minus is that the Coffee Port closes too early. And last this ship is Butlins at sea you can be assured that your Cruise Director will 100% refuse to give it a rest.
first, i though the old mein schiff 1 was scrapped because it's not worthy anymore to sail. but the marella company made mein schiff 1 become slightly impressive!
The ''old'' Mein Schiff 1 was ''slightly impressive'' on its own, before any refurbishment. Much of the furniture and fittings seem to be the same, though the colour scheme on board is different in many places. The new MS 1 might be impressive to some and can take about a 1000 passengers more on board but for me the old MS 1 is the perfect size (1900 passengers), and I am glad TUI Cruises or Marella haven't gone for a ship as big as the AIDAcosma with a whopping 6600 person capacity. The old MS 1 was a wonderful experience as it seems to be for most people who sail with her in her new identity under Marella. Bon Voyage to all who sail on her in the future!
Ben and David Thanks for the video, we are on the Explorer next Wednesday and looking forward to it. Did the pair of you (with the help of Emma!!) drink the ship dry?
Beautiful ship, great video too. You guys do a great job. I never heard of the line which I'm guessing doesn't sail from the US. Is it a European cruise line?
Yeah its fro tui which is uk based....they only do all inclusive cruises so all drinks and tips are included...they are very good value for money..i did italy last month and it only cost £800 per personfor a outside cabin ...... bargain👍
Have only cruised once with Thomsons, it was on the Celebrity. All I can say, it was what I would imagine Butlins on a boat to be like. I’m sorry to say, your video of this ship hasn’t inspired me to cruise with TUI again, the surroundings look so cheap compared to other cruise lines.
Lol I wouldn't go that far! To me, it looks a little below say P&O quality but with a lighter, more 'fun' palette. Not for everyone if you prefer the classic look. I'd give it a try.

To były moje najlepsze wakacje w życiu, w tym roku zabukowałem następne, kocham ten statek.
We’ve just sailed on this ship and loved it!!! Thanks for the tour and bringing back the memories 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it!

thank you ben and david i love the video a lot i have chosen that ship to spend with mum over the festive season this year

Cannot wait until it all goes back to normal and we can all cruise again in comfort.. Best wises Ben and David.. Keep safe
Wow!! Just an absolutely gorgeous ship! Thanks for creating this tour of it for us!

Thanks Guillermo. That's really cool that you worked on her. I bet she is almost unrecognisable
@@Cruisewith to be honest...she looks way better now!!!
Wow that's amazing.
Thanks for this guys, I’ve been on 4 cruises with Thomson / Tui / Marella and the Explorer is my favourite ship so far, I’m booked to sail round the Eastern Med next summer on her and can’t wait.
How did that cruise go 🙊
@@Thomashorsman it got cancelled sadly due to covid
This was the first ship I went in in august 2019. Watching it now for memories of the ship and fjords while in lockdown.

Hey. That's so good to hear our video helped. That's why we started the channel. Have s fantastic time on Carnival Pride.
Thanks for the tour - we’re on her In January she looks very nice. Everywhere looks modern and bright 😄

Beautiful Ship, I like the decor!!
All booked for my 21st next year fingers crossed
Great video as always. Loved the Explorer 2 so good to see the differences! 😁
We're going on Explorer 2. What are the differences?
@@stevenmilloy3933 There is a Golf themed bar, and there wasn't a cinema. Otherwise the same as far as we could see 😁

Would recommend the new Celebrity Apex ship coming this year
Will be on the Marella Explorer next month.
Very excited now.
You do manage to still go?
@@Thomashorsman Yes, was on from 21 Feb 2020 for a week. I think it was about three weeks later when the first full lockdown happened.
Great video and the ship is gorgeous thanks for sharing 🤗⚓️🛳🥂🍾🌴
Thanks Renee.
Definitely tempted to go on her now they have got their UK cruises on sale
Looks very nice! 👍🏻

Latitude 53 was great, we were in Norway, so you can imagine the views out that window.
Looks so different from when she was the Celebrity Century, beautiful!
Looks amazing going on this one for first time Feb 2020
This ship looks amazing! I’ll have to see where they cruise and maybe go on one next year!

Just booked this for December 21 from Gran Canaria - ok for a solo traveler?
Nice ship!
Great video! Is it an adults only cruise ship?
No, however this was an adults only sailing.
I like the decor but I think they need to update their beds. The mattress looks ghastly. Great video guys.

Happy birthday!!
I am actually very impressed! Nice ship!
wow, my work place !!
Its Seems That Mein Sciff 1 Is Doing Well.
I’ve been on two different Tui Ships but the Marcella Explorer seems better by far
Gorgeous ship. MickieG Adelaide Sth Australia
Where does this ship sail out of??
Please tell me if these cruises are good for teenagers
Mediterranean tapas does early bird breakfast from 6am.
Suffering withdrawal symptoms for 🥴❣
Me and thee both, friend.
I very much so perfect the original interiors. The ship interior is not meant to be this white and grey.
What is the clientele like compared to say Cunard or P&O? eg. Where on the sliding scale between "oldies" and "booze cruisers" ? 😂
Somewhere in the middle! Not too OTT and not slow at the same time!

Everything half decent is extra? No spirits only beer and wine? Not for me.
It seems that you get charged for
Everything
it looks absolutely ghastly.

Going on it for my 60th next year, can’t wait. A cruise is what you make of it, and we’ve had fantastic times on Marcella cruises
