I think they were refurbished ones) ? Any experience on these subies ? What's more likely from your experience ? I do hear the rotor rub againt the pad every time the wheel make a revolution. Do you think I can solve this by untorquing my wheel and tork it back but this time with a torque wrench, to the sevice manual torque spec value ??? Thanks for any input ! Just did timing belt, OEM subary TB tensionner, all idler pulleys and coolant replacement at the subaru dealership (1500 canadian dollars) so I really would like to avoid another 1200$ brake job at the dealership if I can. If its getting that hot, ur caliper most likely is stuck pressing against the brake rotor could be the brake caliper pin..could be the brake caliper itself..so what i would do..take off the caliper..check the caliper pins if they dont slide out and in smoothly, then most likely thatll be ur problem..if both operate smoothly i would check ur caliper by having someone press the brake pedal and once they let go of the brake pedal the caliper should kinda release back a little enough to let u move the rotor freely
Did you have to turn the wheel to get the top caliper bracket bolt out? I just struggled with that bolt for 20 minutes and gave up because I can't get a socket on it! Turning the wheel was suggested to me AFTER I put everything back together again with the old pads still there.
Was supposed to be for front brakes but looks like it is the back brakes in the video. Sound quality is poor. Thank you for making the video and all the good info.
Pretty good except he did not clean the hub surface that mates with the rotor. Also, he should have used new brake pad clips or at least removed and cleaned the old ones and the surfaces on the caliper bracket that mate with the clips. The wheel nuts should be retorqued after the car is driven a short distance, then again a week later.
Yea i should have waited to replace the brake pad clips to record video, those brake pads were supposed to include hardware but didnt so they ordered the hardware but got em a couple days after, i did end up putting new hardware but the following week and when i edited video i didnt include those scenes unfortunately.
Hard to believe people pay up to $500 for a front brake job. I was at the dealer service shop, and they were quoting a front brake job for a woman. They wanted $550. I took her aside and told her I would do it for her for just the cost of the parts. Couldn’t let her get jammed like that.
Yea i cant believe that they charge so much for something that takes about an hour to do..your a great guy for helping her out like that..she must of saved quite a bit🙂👍

Awsome video thank you
Thank you i really appreciate it🙂
Was supposed to be for front brakes but looks like it is the back brakes in the video. Sound quality is poor. Thank you for making the video and all the good info.
They are the front brakes im replacing...thank you
What torque wrench do you use
Normally i use a gearwrench 1/2 inch drive torque wrench ive had for years
Thanks. Does about $130 sound right for that
@@jbronxmick21 yes sounds about right
Ok thanks dude!! The video is awesome
@@jbronxmick21 anytime..thank you🙂
Pretty good except he did not clean the hub surface that mates with the rotor.
Is this process the same for a 2016 Imprezza?
yes the process would be the same, just the brake pad will have a slightly different warning tab location on certain models.
@@backyardchevy328 Thank you so much! Great video!
@@adkcreature9525 thank you so much, i really appreciate the support🙂
You did not lock screw in the new rotors...
@@backyardchevy328 Was an older woman, probably on her own. Couldn’t just walk away. Thanks for responding.
@@Zeus-wl2pl thank you for doing that..its nice to know theres people like u helping others🙂👍
The caliper mounting bolt should be 59 ft-lbs, the wheel is 89 ft-lbs.
My manual said it was 88.5 ft-lbs. for the front caliper bracket to spindle bolts...the wheel yes it is 89 ft-lbs but i normally stick to 100 ft-lbs standard for most vehicles.

@@FH-ey9qz 👍 BIG thanks for link to manual.
Do another video where the 17mm caliper bracket sockets are rusted to hell and seized
Yea i can imagine how much more difficult that would be
That's what I'm currently dealing with. It's amusing me seeing you easily remove them
Great video by the way thank you
@@joelauseng8991 that snow and salt the apply to the roads do a number on the vehicles..fortunately we dont get that where i live, thats why the rust isnt as bad on the vehicles i work on
Ok so you don't brush or change the stainless steel guide? No wonder why you need to change your brake at 50%. Not good
I had em on order, they were supposed to be included with the brake pads but werent in there..i installed em a few days after the video.
Ooohh candy caane
i wonder why people are still buying these after market parts... they not cheaper.. the oem parts are better quality and same price.
He talks so weird
awesome video just perfect
Thank you🙂
