@@richardsanty9063 I stayed at Sahara last time I went to Vegas, about 8 years ago, and the temperature on a bank clock (surprised they had one, LOL) was 124degrees. I did the strip but it was so hot I don't remember where I went, except Caesar's and MGM; why those 2 casinos are standouts in my mind I don't know. I wish I had paid more attention to the Flamingo and it's historical significance. When you get older you actually read the signs and learn things, like in a museum. When I was a younger, reading the history behind things was like, yeah, yeah, whatever

In regard to the Nathan's in the food court, do you agree that the original Nathan's at Coney Island is radically better than any of the other locations? I find the fries inedible at most locations, but they were great at the one at Coney Island.

I really think Nathan's onion rings at the Coney Island location, and the fries, too, are best at the original location. Of course, they serve frog legs, too, and I think they're thrown into the same frying oil (Yikes! Do you have to?). Remember the old McDonald's fries? The cooking oil makes a significant difference in the taste of the food. I went to Katz's in New York City and the waiter came up to us and we ordered a hot dog and fries and the waiter said we have a special treat coming because they just replaced the cooking oil, the frying oil. And those fries were outstanding! Better than usual. So I agree with you that Nathan's at Coney Island are better there than at their other locations. It could be the oil. It could be the beach, LOL.

If no one visited a casino in a one month period, do they pay more to, say, the state if they have 200 slot machines or pay more if they have 250? I'm sure if they lease them they would be responsible for paying the lease payments. Some casinos look pretty empty with regards to slots, so I'm guessing they must pay more to the state for the privilege of having slots and the number they offer, in addition to the costs of, say, leasing them.

@@NuYawk It's something I've got to ask Wild Wild West Atlantic City, as the number of slots and tables have decreased significantly through the years. If I had a bar that offered slots in Las Vegas, I'd like 20 slots as compared to 10, but I wonder if there's additional costs in addition to leasing them or buying them. Anyone know? Maybe when you get a gambling license you have to say how many slots you want to have in your establishment, or a range of say, 10-20? Can Vegas establishments offer table games or poker, if you're a small ma and pa bar or restaurant or is it slots only?

@@richardhales92 I think the machines are leased from the various slot and video poker makers. This is what I gather from talking to the slots technicians.

@@BobThompson-y9p Thanks. That was a wordy question, and I didn't know if anyone knew what I was trying to say, LOL. It seems to me that some struggling casinos (I guess they're struggling; I don't know their financial numbers) are doing themselves in faster by carrying less and less slot machines. Maybe the cost of leasing them is just too much for them to operate financially (I suppose they don't buy them). The Wild Wild West in Atlantic City is a good example, as the number of slots and tables have decreased significantly through the years. Maybe the introduction of their Sportsbook was just in time and have kept them going. I wonder if there is any additional cost to the government, to the State they operate in, for having more slots. I love the Wild Wild West, as I know many do, and hate to see it go. It takes us out of a normal world for a moment and takes us back to ol West.

@@BobThompson-y9p Thanks. I hate to see the Wild Wild West in Atlantic City go; yet the number of slots and table games have decreased significantly through the years. Maybe the introduction of sports betting and their Sportsbook have helped them continue financially. Leasing the machines must cost a lot of dough; I wonder if there's additional costs to the government. The dwindling number of slots at the Wild Wild West through the years have got me moving to other casinos to find different slots to play. We love the aura of the Wild Wild West and I hate to see it go bankrupt. Losing tables and slot machines makes me worry.
