- Hey guys so I finally got my hands on this Dippity Do gel and I am excited to review it for you guys. What do you all think?

Yep, the brand is old as dirt. I remember Dippity Doo from the 60s. Your hair looks great. I will pass on this gel. I still have vivid memories of using the original to set my neighbors hair back in the day.
@aCCidental L00KS I don't remember. I do know that it smelled like pure alcohol. None of my circle used that mess on our pressed hair.
@Belinda Sanders bad memories of the 60s Dippity Doo make me afraid of ALL GELS when I started seriously thinking about transitioning to natural 18 months ago. I am shocked that they still make this, LOL! You're right, it didn't work AT ALL on pressed hair, but my mom, who did not (does not) press her hair, tried it and all I remember is the flaking when it dried. Gosh. Looked like dandruff on steroids.
@@Maloyo I neglected to mention that my neighbor was Caucasian. No black folks that I knew would even consider putting the original formula in their hair. Don't be afraid. There are much better gels and custards on the market now. I just can't with Dippity Do and a few old "black" brands that have inserted themselves in the natural hair market. I do appreciate the reviews.
@@belindasanders1719 No problems here @Belinda Sanders. My mom isn't Caucasian, but she has never needed to relax her hair. (In the old days, they called it "good" hair.) I did go natural and use a little Eco Styler, although I like the curling cremes better as my hair is growing (did the big chop this spring). As long as nobody tries to make me use a pomade, I'm open to most suggestions!
@@Maloyo My hair hates ECO. I've been natural for almost 8 years. Wetline or Ampro Olive are my go to firm hold gels. Otherwise, I routinely use Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic or Mane Choice Cheers gelato. My 4a/4b hair laughs at most curl creams unless they're under gel.
Your hair looks great! Yes, Dippity Do is a throw back product from the 60's. It's made a serious comeback and I was so surprised to see it in the stores this year. I have seen it in Harmon's Beauty Supply, Marshall's and TJ Maxx.
Recently I’ve been using everything dippity do 😂 the shampoo,conditioner, leave in conditioner, and the curl spray and honestly my hair has never been this soft, shiny, or curly I definitely love it ☺️
There’s subbies that’ll completely forget about telling you whether the lighting is good or not... it looks fine to me lol

BUT THOSE CURLS THOUGH ANNND THEY WERE AIR DRIED?! Never heard of dippity do but I'm clearly missing all the way out
this product dried my hair out sooooo bad! wasn’t a fan.
it was okay, but i wouldnt wear it more than 2 or 3 days

They said this gel has been out since the 60's. I've always seen it advertised for white women on tv years ago & still see it in the stores til this day.🤔

Before you mentioned the lighting I was just in admiring how good it is. That light looked great on your skin and your hair looked amazing as always
Lighting looks perfect. Never seen that gel anywhere. Have you tried the Naturall Club’s Avocado Custard? I think it has given me my BEST WNG EVER!!!! Bouncy, elongated, moisturized and well DEFINED Curls. One problem, as you mentioned about this product, I used half the jar for one WNG. I said I wouldn’t buy anymore because of that but my hair was so Bomb that I bought 2 more 8 oz jars. Will be used for special occasions. They say the product has a 2 year shelf life. Maybe I’ll try to use less next time, but I feel like I used what was necessary for my desired result. It truly stretched my hair. I actually looked like I had some flowing hair. (The shrinkage is REAL) otherwise.

Had me shook too! The shine and definition was on point! Your hair looks bomb!! You could have used less and got the same great results!! I LOVE IT!! I went back and got two more jars!

MAN! They are an Canadian brand so we(US) don’t get it like other brands and she has said that it is hard for her to find.
Storytime, I was on vaca and driving home, stopped at a mall that had a Marshall’s and they happen to have it so I picked one up. Previously, I had been to 7/8 Marshall’s and TJ Max and they never have it😬😢.
It works very well and lasts. I think the hold is more so medium but I like it. Your hair looks really really good. I was waiting for your pap, I knew you would like it.😊
There is nothing wrong with the word "moist". Freely use it. The people who have a problem with it, needs therapy. They want you to change your thoughts regarding saying the word but refuse to change their own thinking about the word. UA-camrs who talk about multiple topics(food, hair, plumbing, soil, etc.)need to use that word.🙄
The hold was DEFINITELY not light. It was n extremely hard hold on my hair. Used it about 5 months ago wit a
W and G. I haven't used it since.
Your hair looked great! I tried it too...my hair texture is closer to Bianca's. I had great results but first time I used without a leave in. I felt my was dry. 2nd time I used a leave in I had better results. I did notice a little flakes initially. Did you? I think it may have been the leave in I used.
This new lighting really did it for your hair and skin. Perfect! Love the shine and volume you got on you always beautiful hair. I remember Dippity Do used to be blue. My mother used it on her wigs.😀
