Dream Team was very looking good on that time because their opponents at not yet catching-up, advancement of trainings always in NBA league that time. Dream team are not prepared for 3s new type of game now because of Curry's game influence
Just the spread of extreme athleticism is the major change. MJ in the 1990s was 4” taller and had +30” of vertical over the 1998 NBA average guard. Now, *Prime* MJ & Pippen would be in Halliburton’s 205-215lbs weight class, but going against 225-260lbs bigger, stronger, taller, and just as athletic multi-position wings like: *Prime* LeBron, Ant, Tatum, Brown, LaVine, SGA, Kawhi, PG13, Simmons(pre-2019 playoffs), Jrue, Book, KD, and Jimmy Buckets. The spread of elite level training for 13-17yr old national prospects, has also made most guys NBA-ready at 19yrs old, and solid stars by 21yrs old.
The turning point is not the lack of athleticism back then in other countries, althouh its an aspect that has been improved. It is about type os basketball. Btw, Croatia had Petrovic, Radja, Kukoc among other great players for instance. Lithuania, Sabonis and Marciulonis. Also, Yugoslavia had been destroyed, if not, they would have had such a powerful squad that had won all from 1989 to 1991 in international competitions. The main difference is not that European players has improved that much, but USA basketball has worsened: No intense defense like those days, hardly interior game, and the poorest team-based game ever (with some exception like GSW, Boston right now and Spurs a few years ago) NBA has become like a 3point contest, meanwhile Euroleague develops tactics and strategy to another level. Bros are about highlights, jumps and dunks = athleticism. White-bros are about putting the ball on the basket; Luka and Jokic are the best exemples that spring to my mind, just talent and high IQ, not athleticism.
Not at all, bro. Croatia had Petrovic, Radja, Kukoc among other great players for instance. Lithuania Sabonis and Marciulonis. @@Alberto-mf4cbWTF are you talking about? NBA players today are faster, stronger and more skilled than ever….thats the shit Durant’s talking about…it’s idol worship….saying European players have higher basketball iqs than Americans but the Americans win because of their athleticism is cope.
After Steph, KD and LeBron retires this next group will have their hands full. The world is catching up!!! This is not 1992 where they were just happy to be on the court with them. These dudes are coming!!!
Bron is the One who keeps it all together. Durant, Ant man, Embid and Curry had their big moments but LeBron was a consistent mfk. He is the glue that sticks all up together.
Ginobili is spot on : kudos to both teams, France kept the game live all the way until Steph went absolutely crazy. 50% in 3s is ridiculous and was the difference in the end. France made too many unforced errors and team US made it pay. Proud of our team 🇫🇷
Tyrese Haliburton was benched in the Olympic Championship games between US and France and no one giving shit about it. feel bad about Tyrese. All the glory belongs to Steve Kerr, who also benched Jayson Tatum.
Why does it seem people acting surprised that curry did what he did. Curry has only been stepping up like this in his entire career in the clutch must win games. Game 5 against the cavs he had over 20 in the fourth quarter. This guy can get it done especially in the clutch.
Why do I feel like grinding my teeth every time I see the name Skip Bayless pop up? Yes, the 1992 Dream Team featured some of the greatest names in the history of basketball. But let's face it. the level of international play was very low then. The quality of international players was abysmal. The understanding and sophistication of coaching was pretty basic. Yet we all think of the Dream Team as though they were a pantheon of gods descending from Mt. Olympus and all mere mortals had to bow before them. This may be basketball blasphemy, but today's Dream team could be even better. Today's style of play is more complex. Today's athletes are better conditioned. The global competition is much, much tougher. More and more international players are becoming skilled. The 1992 Dream Team did not have to face great international players like Giannis, Jokic, Wembanyama. For the USA team to beat the best international teams is a greater and tougher achievement than the old Dream Team bulldozing through hapless teams back then.
What I find funny is that Barkley hates Skip but they’re both the same two old haters. No one is taking anything from the Dream Team. Aside from Laettner that team could have easily been nicknamed Team Hall of Fame and everyone acknowledges the greatness of all of them. That said, the world of basketball has changed. Some of the best players in the NBA aren’t necessarily all American. There are more great American NBA players but not all superstars today are American. Now these are the only international players that had any connection to the NBA that the Dream Team faced… 1. Sarunas Marciulionis 2. Arvydas Sabonis 3. Drazen Petrovic 4. Toni Kukoc 5. Dino Radja 6. Vlade Divac 7. Zarko Paspalj 8. Stojko Vrankovic 9. Georgi Glouchkov
Skip Bayless clueless comparison when the rest of the world couldn't spell basketball back then as compared to now all because his enemy LeBron is on this team is the very reason he's out of TV for good and can't even buy a UA-cam subscriber. But his LeBron hate is still the only way he can get any attention whatsoever so he's still embarrassing his stupid self for the little attention he can get. Very sad.

Remember, even when Steph wasn't shooting well, Skip still picked him as the most important player. He was right .
He picked kd so stop capping 😂

Skip Bayless is a clown pushing 80 and still hating on LeBron.
He will still hate anyone in the nba that is not a spurs player until he's death bed
