Wow, this is fascinating behind-the-curtains drama. I'm surprised Dmitry didn't simply have Bouvier whacked! By the way, the addition of the soundtrack did not go unnoticed...nice touch! 😀👍
The lesson I'm taking from this is, being rich ain't easy. I feel like his deal to give 2% was a little too optimistic if he was leaving everything, including the art knowledge, up to the other guy, but the collector was definitely a crook for taking advantage.
Fascinating story. The world mostly will not side with billionaires, even if they are wronged. So maybe the $300 million come up will have to be consolation
Dear Mr. West, I just discovered your channel this morning, 8/31/2024, and I am REALLY thrilled with the topic that you proffer. This one, 'Oligarch vs Sotheby' took the cake. Although I was familiar with the topic, you went further to reveal the outcome of the lawsuits. As an artist who has been painting for fifty-two (52) years, I revel in stories about art and art history. Yours is one of the most interesting art channel that I have found. I love your topics, although I disagreed with your conclusion on the appropriations by Elaine Stuartevant. As an artist, I would go insane to find another "ARTIST" reproducing my work. It is an experience that I have already had, seeing my work "COPIED WITH ALTERATIONS, which made it difficult rfor me to claim that my work was appropriated. Otherwise, I am really enjoying the topics that you present. Thanks for the presentations, and keep them coming. I REALLY ENJOY THEM! David G. Wilson, artist.

Hey thanks! And I’m sure in the good ol’ days Dmitry would’ve done just that!
Been looking for this channel to exist - thank you for putting together such great reports!
This means a lot to hear. Thank you!
Fantastic video, thank you! And Bouvier certainly will have to watch his step in the next years...
These high end paintings are also written up on balance sheets, thus reducing tax liabilities. This is simply an example of two greedy men.
Greed is certainly all over the art world.
That art dealer is a swindler!! The Russian Oligarch must take care of things!!
Who knew the high art world was filled with so much petty drama lol
Crazy, right? 😝😝😝
Can anyone identify the museum at around 5:55 in the video or more specifically the painting on the right?

There are worse problems to have!
These videos are great.
Thank you!
Oh wow. Didn't know he own Salvator Mundi. Bro make like 300mil in profit.
Yeah don’t feel too bad for him.
Holy mackerel
It’s like a train wreck. I can’t look away!
i swear every time a billionaire buys a Rothko they get cursed and i love it
Hahaha.

This is very true. Thanks for watching :)
Great channel but the first half music is very distracting. It’s not necessary.
You’d hope the witness protection program had some use for you if you pissed off a Russian oligarch.
Ha. Indeed!
Oh wow, I have no sympathy for a Russian oligarch, but he is in the right he got scammed
True. But I still don’t feel too bad for him.

So nice of you to say! And fair enough about Elaine’s work - it’s a tricky subject. And thanks for the watching and the words of encouragement!
