    Hi John! After 6 years, I finally hit a royal!!! I also hit quad aces with kicker on Triple Triple on the same day (2 hours between)! Best win day of my life! Very cool that Curtis and Andrew provided a surprise visit ! Those are the best surprises 👍

    Excellent video, John! You're definitely getting the hang of this. 1) Your playing tips are imperative, as well. If you let the excitement or emotion or the "worry" as you so perfectly state, go unchecked as I did last weekend things can go really sideways. Got it together, studied paytables, watched for the rolling, and bam. 4 aces on $1 Bonus. 2) The music you add is fine. I actually like it behind the narration. 3) Yamaava is amazing. 4) I can't wait for your upcoming videos with Andrew! Hope to meet you some day. Thank you for the work you put in recording and editing. There's a lot of us paying attention. 😎

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker It was on 9/5 Triple Bonus Plus. Spades. Quarters. Agua Caliente-Rancho Mirage. Held the King, Jack. $100 in......playing for half hour I hit quad aces for $300. Cashed it and moved to the machine right beside it and it hit about 15 minutes in. I know you said to stick to Bonus Poker but it was killing me. So I checked Wizard of Odds and it tells me that 8/5 Bonus Poker has an expected return of 99.1% and 9/5 TBP has an expected return of 99.8% Granted the variance doubles from 20 to 40 but I figured with the length of my losing swing I was due....LOL! Update on the denoms available.......High Limit Room has $10 coin max. And the best game is JOB at 9/6. Bonus Poker if I recall is 7/5.

      Thank you for all the details. I like that there is $10 coin denomination on 9/6 JoB over there. I’ve won so many Royals on 7/5 BP that the pay table doesn’t bother me per se (as long as the machine is on a “run”). But I’ll do my 8/5 BP here at Pala & Pechanga. Eventually, I expect to hit a Royal in every casino in SoCal. Just between Harrah’s SoCal, Pechanga, & Pala, I’ve hit 28 Royals among them!🌎

    Greetings from Torrance! Hi John! What a fun time you guys had. You were right about how fast Curtis can play. I have never seen anyone with both hands on the buttons playing at that speed. There are a few people in this world that can play in GODMODE with super accuracy and he is it. Your session at Red Rock and the M didn't come out great, but they were actually good sessions that others can learn from. I have had sessions that seemed to last forever with the money not moving either up or down, but that is part of the game. Its also part of the fun. Video poker is fun, but it is more fun with good friends! Glad you had time with your friends. That means more than any money. Take care!

    My wife used to work at Pechanga. Yes, started in the tent when they had the old Wizard video poker machines and bingo, then opened the hotel casino. She even busted a "counterfeit ticket" ring. They had the ticket making machine in their car in the parking lot.

      🤣Back in those early years of Pechanga, I was a DDB player and I did hit quite a few Aces w/kickers for $2,000. For all I know, she may have paid me a jackpot and also enjoyed getting a $20 tip from me!😂🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker Well, if she did and you tipped her, thank you. We're big video poker players ourselves. I switch around from one game to another but she sticks to DDB like you. When they were in the tent and a few months in the new casino the slot attendants got to keep their own tips. She was bringing home quite a bit in tips at that time. Later, they started pooling the tips and her take home from them dropped to a 1/4 of what they were. She really loved that job but the income drop forced her to leave and started working in the car loan collection dept for Wells Fargo. It put her back to the level of income prior to the tip pooling. Plus, she worked closer to home. Corona to Pechanga was a 50 min. drive one way.
      The clients loved her, too. She had an older couple that would come in and look for her to play in her section she was attending that day. The wife eventually passed away from cancer and her husband came in with a box filled with his wife's bell collection, saying she wanted my wife to have them. From the old style brass, hand-held school bell to a small Waterford Crystal bell. We have them in our china hutch in our new home here in OK. My wife, too this day, will tell you that was her favorite job she ever had. Thank you for the corrispondence with me. I know you have so many to reply to and really enjoy talking to the video hosts. Especially those who can relate to old stomping grounds. You are a gentleman.
      P.S. You say you're going to Shreveport, too. Well, my wife, Debbie, is originally from Shreveport. My dad nicknamed her Shreveport Sal and she loves it. And, of course, being the son of a gaslighter, nicknamed me "Debbie's Dilemma". LOL.

    Hi John, that's funny you had a segment on M casino. In February I decided to go to M to try to get another casino going for comped rooms. I always go that back way to go to Sam's Town(My parents lived across the street from Sam's for 25 years until their passing). I did fairly well there and I played that bank of machines you shown. The problem was when I came back home to SoCal I looked up the points needed to get a point on video poker. $10 in for 1 point(ouch). I know they have tier points which I'm not sure how that works, maybe you know? As for Pechanga, I was one of those gamblers that were there when they had tents..LOL! Crazy! One time it was raining and there was water leaking from the tents. I'm not sure if you show your itinerary or not, but I'm going to Pechanga for 2 nights next week on the 30th and 31st. Would sure like to meet you!!

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому

      I’m already booked at the Wynn on those dates, otherwise, I would gladly drop in to Pechanga to say hello to you. M rooms are generally expensive and they comp them to me, but I’ve never used the rooms there yet. I enjoy the M café there and often have breakfast there with my friends that live in Henderson. As far as comp points are concerned, I’ll take whatever they’ll give me (rooms, food, beverage), but I don’t really focus on them. They are what there are. If you win (or lose) Big Money they’ll comp you either way. And I do my best to try and stay away from the losing side of that equation!🤣🌎

      Yes, Pechanga, started out with 2 rooms made of a couple of trailers hooked together. There were no video poker machines at first, just slot machines in one trailer, a poker room in the other trailer, and a restroom. And you could count 10 cars sitting outside! The slots were very loose & you could hit 3 "Red 7's" all day long for $200. Word spread fast around town, and before you knew it, they kept adding on more & more trailers & restrooms. Eventually they added a huge tent with open sides, and when it rained, you actually could get "wet" inside the casino! That tent also kept getting larger & larger with time. Finally, in 2004, they completed the hotel tower & casino complex. I was there for the Grand Opening & it was incredible. It's really a very respectable casino & can compete head to head with any local casino in Las Vegas. I call it the Red Rock of California. It is awesome in every respect.

      If you were to hold all 3, then you're "playing for" the straight while blocking any chance of getting Quads or Full Houses. It's better to drop the Ace (in every case) & only hold the lower face cards to open up more possibilities in hitting more hands on the pay table. Practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” and you’ll soon absorb an intuition as to which cards to hold under which conditions. And you’ll have more success that way too.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker Congratulations on your success at Bonus Poker! When I have watched your videos, it looks like you are playing 8/5/4 for the most part? As far as VP goes it is one of best paying games there is, but according to the Wizard of Odds, it is still less than 100% with perfect strategy (99.17%). Of course, with comps and cash back, that could push it into over 100% territory, something the Wizard of Odds does not take into account.

      I’ve just been very lucky hitting 37 Royal Flushes and many of them while on high denomination coin. So even though it’s a negative expectation game, I’m still a strong net positive after 10+ years of play. Which means, of course, that I have never “lost” money on the game. @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому

      For sure, these are different times. The bad pay tables nationwide (except for Southern California & Las Vegas) aren’t helping either. The casinos would get a lot more “action” on the machines if they were just being “honest & fair” with the players. They make a profit 3 ways as it is:
      1) It’s a negative expectation game with pay tables less than 100% payback.
      2) Lack of player knowledge on what to for and which games to play.
      3) Player error. There’s 2,598,960 possible hands. There isn’t a player alive who hasn’t and doesn’t make mistakes no matter how hard or long they practice.
      That’s why casinos like Pechanga, Pala, and Stations casino group thrive. They offer quality games in abundance and adhere to Benny Binion’s philosophy of: Good Food, Good Whiskey & a Good Gable. And that’s why I acknowledge those casinos in my videos. They’re doing it right and deserve the recognition. Thank you, Teresita, for bringing up a good point.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    What do you feel is proper funding for playing 2$ &5$ demolition VP?

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +1

      I cover a lot of that throughout my videos, but in short, if you want a legitimate shot at hitting Royals there are some basic tenets that I adhere to:
      1) 8/5 Bonus Poker or 9/6 Jacks or Better ONLY (i.e. low volatility games: the 2 pair hand must pay 10 coins).
      2) Daily practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” to get close to near perfect strategy.
      3) Only play on a machine with a “wide spread of denominations” on it so that you can “up the coin denominations” when it’s going well (or lower the coin denominations when it’s receding to “protect the bankroll”).
      4) Use the 1,000 coin rule as your initial starting bankroll (i.e. whatever coin denomination you’re going to play on, you’ll need a 1,000 of those coins: $1 coin-$1,000, $5 coin-$5,000, $25 coin-$25,000, $100 coin-$100,000). The 1,000 coin bankroll gives you enough “rise & fall” to endure the volatility of the game and allows you to play without fear of losing your entire bankroll in just a few hands. There’s no guarantees, of course, and “Luck” (having the cards falling your way) does play a part in a great session, but being “underfunded” in the initial bankroll is one of the major reasons players fail to hit the Royals in a session.
      Following this path of “least resistance” has helped me to achieve hitting 38 Royals for close to $500,000 in wins. There is also a strict commitment to “certain bankroll management techniques” that facilitate hitting the Royals, which can only fully be understood once the above mentioned protocols have been mastered. To win Royals in abundance, it’s not “video poker” that I’m playing, but rather, the “game within the game”.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    John, I love your videos and have thought about making some myself for the hell of it with the amount of video poker I play. What's your recommended bankroll for each denomination? I typically go with $300-$400 for $1 denom and $800-$1000 for $5 denom.

      Thank you for liking my videos. I wish my technical skills in making them were better, but it is what it is, and hopefully, over time I can get to a point where the videos match my ideals. My prescription on bankroll size applies to 8/5 Bonus Poker only. If the player wants a "realistic chance" of having a winning session, then the minimum bankroll required would be 1,000 coins at ALL denominations. An example of this would be the following: 5¢ coin: $50, 50¢ coin: $500, $5 coin : $5,000, $50 coin: $50,000. So, if you're playing 8/5 Bonus Poker on $1 coin (and you want a real chance at winning), then start with $1,000. On $10 coin, you'll need $10,000, on $100 coin, you'll need $100,000. With 1,000 coins you don't need to "sweat" each & every hand, as if your life depended on it. You have more than enough coins to hit a few good hands to get back to even, and better than that, if you hit 4 Aces, 2,3,4's, or a straight flush (on Big Denominations) you're in for a fortune at very little risk (since you started with a decent bankroll size). Now you can start with less & still manage to win. But all I'm saying is "Let's decide that right up front". Go in with 1,000 coins & you'll see that you're giving yourself a real chance at Big Wins & life changing Royals on high denomination coin.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      What I actually meant by “Full Pay”(in terms of today’s “stingy” casino environments of bad pay tables), is that they offer 9/6 JoB, 8/5 BP, 9/6 BPD, 9/7 DBP, 9/6 DDB, 9/7 TDB, and NSUD Deuces Wild, all on high denominations ($5, $10, $20, $25, $50, & $100 coin) without altering the pay tables. Good to Great games are still available in the High Limit rooms! Actual 100%+ full pay games that are restricted to the lower denominations of 25¢, 50¢, & $1 coin (but go no farther) may be great to have for recreational purposes, but have no real-value in terms of big financial gains won in high limit rooms with slightly less but still great pay tables mentioned above.

Not all casinos allow you to use a tripod in their casino, but neither I, nor Slotmassacre, are going to let that stop us from recording. The free play win was the point of the video. When I film with a tripod, it’s easy to set it up and just play the game. But if you’re “shotgunning” it (holding the camera in one hand while trying to play “one-handed” with the other, it is difficult. For one, the camera isn’t steady and you “miss” hitting the proper keys playing one-handed while looking “through the camera” at the screen. So ultimately, I just put the iPhone down and just played. I actually hit 4 Aces on 50¢ coin (which took me by surprise) and it didn’t get filmed. I actually took the wins up to $800 and threw quite a bit back in when the 4’s hit. So I pulled the iPhone out to record the hold. I worked it up past $500 and then just settled for the cash-out win of $500. The same thing happened on my Red Rock video Part 7 (The Thumbnail on that video shows 4 Aces). I made an “after dinner” session by visiting Caesars Palace before heading back to Red Rock. I was filming by hand again, without a tripod. I got tired of holding the camera and stopped filming but kept on playing. As luck would have it, I hit 4 Aces on $25 coin for $10,000 and I had to reach down in a panic to open up my phone to film the last few seconds of hitting the $10,000 on 4 Aces. You can see it on that video. From now on, no more “filming by hand”, you miss a lot of good footage that way. The problem is, that some casinos, won’t let you use a tripod!😕🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +3

      The lowest volatility games are generally, 9/6 JoB & 8/5 Bonus Poker. Because of their "stability", your bankroll lasts longer (mainly due to "making money" on the 2 pair hand). In that way, you last "long enough" for many of the 1, 2, 3, & 4 to the Royal Flush hands, to eventually hit. When you play high denomination coin machines, any 5-K Quads, 2,3,4's, Straight Flush, & Quad Aces pays you Big Money (without having it "cost you" an "arm and a leg" to get there). DDB & TDB both require much bigger starting bankrolls due to NOT "making money" on the very FREQUENT 2 pair hand. Bonus Poker is not a "thrill game" like DDB & TDB, but it IS a consistent "money maker". We all play video poker for the "thrill of the game". But if you take a closer look at it, there are 2 types of thrills in video poker: the "thrill" that comes from playing the "roller coaster" volatile games such as DDB & TDB, and then there is the thrill of playing low volatility games at high denominations where you "actually" make Big Money. For me, and those of us who are avid Bonus Poker fans, it's the "money made" that provides the thrill, NOT the playing of the game itself. It's not a judgement on the other games, they ARE thrilling. But it is a fact that you don't "consistently" make money on volatile games. So the player has a choice on "why" they play video poker. Are you looking for recreational "thrills"? Or are you looking to make money "consistently"? If there were no money in video poker, I would never play the game. The name of the game is, 8/5 Bonus Poker, at High Denomination coin.😊🌎

      You’re welcome. I get that question a lot. DDB is the single most popular video poker game in the casino. There is more of DDB than any other video poker game. The casinos use DDB to “lure” players away from the money making games in video poker (i.e. 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP). They aren’t putting all those DDB games out there to “better serve the players”, they’re out there to make a killing for the casino! If making money in video poker is your goal, then there’s ONLY 2 video poker games: 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP. All the other video poker games are a contrivance and were created to distract & lure players away from ever discovering that fact. Many may disagree with this perspective, but my bank account knows better. Practice 8/5 BP on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” to rid yourself of errors, go play 8/5 BP exclusively for 6 months and see if you don’t start hitting a lot of Royals (due to bankroll longevity) and once you discover that truth, start playing 8/5 BP at higher denominations. The Royals won on high denomination coin are a game changer. Video poker is not a recreational pursuit for me (although it is entertaining, stimulating, and fun). It is a money maker. And that is where the thrill comes in for me. 8/5 BP at high denomination. THAT is the name of the game!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
