  • @matthewzhang9950
    @matthewzhang9950 Рік тому +77

    Unless he gets injured, I see no scenario in which he busts. The weight and centre of gravity concerns are overblown for him. The number of Centers that opposing teams will go out of the way to give the ball to so they can take advantage of his relative lack of strength can be counted on one hand. Offensively, he probably doesn't even need to post up to score in double figures with his off ball game, lob threat, and shooting threat. We just simply have never seen someone so agile at this height. Also he reads the game well already and has that good feel that you just can't really teach.
    His defensive potential is pretty much limitless too. Elite shot blockers and paint protectors that can also switch onto the perimeter while clogging up driving and passing lanes do not grow on trees.

    • @LivinProoof

      Can you imagine Giannis going against him? I don't see how Wemby guards that... I think even jokic would bully him. Sabonis is a lot shorter but he's strong as hell, how does wemby stop strong bigs from just straight up backing him down full power.. Idk, BUT if he gets some muscle on him while maintaining his dexterity he's gonna be unstoppable on both sides of the floor.

Sure Jokic is a guy they go to (Embiid too) but Wemby is long enough to stop certain of Sabonis' moves. I'm not saying that strength is no issue, far from it, I'm just simply stating that there's like 3-4 guys (plus maybe healthy Zion) that teams are actually going to go to repeatedly to exploit his high centre of gravity. You aren't getting a team like the Pelicans to have JV get like 10-15 post reps down low, just isn't how they play the game currently.

      It's for this reason that Wilt Chamberlain would beat Michael Jordan in a one on one game. It's also the reason why Kareem Abdul Jabber dismantled Dr. J in their televised one on one game. Shaq is correct when he says basketball is a big man's game. A skilled forward will struggle to beat a skilled 7 foot Big Man one on one.

    Kareem said Victor has smooth as silk mobility and has more skills and talent than what he had at that age...3 point marksman and ball dribbling
    But Kareem said what will truly define him as the best is Victor's maturity and IQ....and then having a great teacher and coach in Pops
    And Kareem was honored to know that Victor wants to add Kareems skyhook shot to his arsenal...that alone will make him unstoppable Kareem said

    His offense seems ridiculous. But there are other players you cannot guard either, really. It looks more out of this world with Vic, but the result is the same, buckets.
    Yet his defense - he is already unique and can do what no one else in the league can. Imagine playing alongside him on defense - his teammates can really go in hard. If Wemby is backing you up and taking away drives, you can really bother spaced out shooters.

    I think an important thing to keep track of over the next three years is his weight, but more importantly muscle gain. A good comparison would be Giannis from his rookie season, to his third season. I think Victor has to gain more muscle to not only become stronger but to help prevent injury.

    Because he has crazy wingspan, he should limit his movements...make them more brief and to the point instead of dribbling too much or moving too sporadically. I believe his body structure isn't meant for that. However, he can do what he wants with his body.
