I was quite impressed by this, I do need to give it another try. The thing with reviewing beers is that I alway moving on to the next, I think I need to stop and go back so to speak. Thanks for the comments, appreciated, cheers
It's a very good beer and the right beer to accompany sushi at a Japanese restaurant. Because Lager is the right drink to have with sushi, the Japanese make some very good Lagers.
For those who are gluten intolerant, this is pretty much a rice beer. Similar to Corona, which is also mostly rice. Both around 80% gluten free. If you like a light refreshing lager, I think this is better than Corona. There won’t be a lot of “character” to this beer. Still obviously has a beer taste. Haven’t tried the Italian brewed version- only the Japan one. Will try soon, though. I can say the Japan brewed one is phenomenal. I can’t handle a lot of gluten, so this is my new “go to”.
@@ivehadworse7713 Thanks for your video. I looked more closely upon consuming a bottle of the Italian made Asahi today. There’s a lot of corn in the ingredients. Still similar to Corona, I think. I do prefer the one made in Japan for flavour. It’s smoother. This one was slightly bitter.
Amazing what goes into a recipe based on region. A company can say that something is as close to or the same as the original recipe, well being a cook I know that on average two to three times out of 10 when making a dish those two to three times it will not taste the same as the other 7-8 times because we are making everything using organic components. Being organic myself, I have my good days and my bad days I'm very much sure that it's the same with every other organic 😀
Asahi has there own local breweries in countries that sell there beers, They supervise the production of the beer locally in countries that sell there beers.
I had comment that although they have acquired a number of small to medium brewery’s they usually run them as independents. Just when I think I know who owns what, turns out to be a conglomerate. This was an interesting beer and this was the first I’d tied it, won’t be the last. Thanks for the input, alway appreciated, cheers !
The real Japanese version is completely different from the brewed under license stuff Is never the same thing. I used to be able to buy the 500 Ml tall cans here in Vancouver Canada at my local liquor store We get the real Japanese Ashai super in 2 Litre Jugs at the government liquire stores
I have had 3 different versions of Asahi. 1 that is brewed in Canada, like yours the one brewed in Italy, but also had the original that was brewed in Japan. The Canadian version was quote unquote okay. The Italian version is good but I just keep thinking of Bierro Peroni which I really do like but too much was integrated into that version. Hands down, the one I had from Japan was the best. However that was quite some time ago and I have seen many markets where imported beers are now being brewed in that particular country, my thing is if you are buying a beer that says it's from a country and it's actually brewed somewhere else and yet still charged for the same amount of money, I feel in the end the consumer whether they like it or not really is being cheated. I will say this I prefer imported especially from Europe. Here in Canada we don't have the Bavarian purity law and yes that does make all the difference. Good video though I quite enjoyed it 🙂
Japanese make great cars , great synths, and great beer. They have always struck me as very clever people and I would love to visit Japan
Good Screwdrives as well!
Probably one of my favourite of the oriental beers I’ve tried only surpassed by the Hitachino Nest beers from Kiuchi brewery.

I never see this one, anymore. I like it and the Asahi Black.
